Favorite fantasy gourmet trash

What are everyone's favorite seasonal fantasy shows? I'm not talking about Frieren or Fullmetal Alchemist but rather the ones that aren't going to be masterpieces but are still fun, they're either doing the usual tropes very well or doing something unique with their MC or premise or they're even just entertaining trash that's well made.

Some of my favorites so far have been:The wrong way to use healing magic; Hai to Gensou no Grimgar; The Ossan Newbie Adventurer; Isekai Shikkaku and I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince.

But I get a lot more out of that huge shitpost of an anime than I do out of a normal seasonal isekai like say for example The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic. It's an earnest answer to OP's question.

It’s definitely intentionally offensive and polarizing, trashy in a tirefire way. Clearly you mean “disposable junk food” but for a lot of people in an anime context “trash” means “rolling dumpster fire”.

Kamikatsu is a treasure. It's a shitpost and everyone in the production team knew it. They cooked with the 2 week old spring onion and duck they found by the roadside made it gold.

The Eminence In Shadow. Except this show isn't trash at all. You can say it's an Isekai parody. You won't understand the lore. But once you do understand, you'll realise it's really well made and it also has great world building. The show is fucking hilarious. I love it so much. I'm waiting for the movie to release.

I've been burned by that sort of show enough that I generally don't watch them anymore.

But this year I did take a chance on Clevatess and I'm really glad I did. It was awesome.

I’ve been having a lot of fun with Campfire Cooking in Another World and Skeleton Knight in Another World.. not deep, but super comfy and entertaining. Handyman Saitou also surprised me with how charming it was.

Ohh my favourite genre. Slop. I am a regular when it comes to this.

On the top of my head, for recent ones, I liked the one called From old country bumpkin to master swordsman and this one is a little better regarded and it is called Demon lord 2099. And this one is a few years old now, but it's called Reborn to master the blade: from hero-king to extraordinary squire. Reign of the seven spellblades was also enjoyable (and a little crazy with that plot twist). I am sure I have a lot more to name but these still linger in my mind.

I looooove Red Ranger. It’s so funny that I’d probably find Togo annoying in a battle shounen context, but plunked into an isekai he becomes super-charming as a genuinely pure hearted hero when I think a lot of isekai protagonists are frankly bad people presented as virtuous for sometimes doing the bare minimum. But Togo is Him. He doesn’t hesitate to help people, and he’s literally powered by friendship. He’s such a good boy that he can turn a pair of stock fantasy thugs into his bros through sheer goodwill. He’s got dumb guy rizz. But he’s also suffered through tragedy and betrayal, which makes his persistence more admirable. Really a perfect execution of a standard hero, and probably the kind of character that used to be the lead in fantasies before it was decided that pure heroes were boring and all the fantasy hero guys had to be frauds, secretly evil, or not as good as Hiro McEdgy. When subversion becomes de rigeur, sincerity loops back around to being refreshing

Life with an Ordinary Guy Who Reincarnated into a Total Fantasy Knockout was nice when it came out. Even though it seems like your average gender swap comedy, it’s genuinely interesting when it explores whether the two leads were secretly in love with eachother before getting sucked into the game.

Do You Love Your Mom and Her Two-Hit Multi-Target Attacks? It’s probably the trashiest Isekai I got sucked into because I thought the mom was hot and I liked a ton of the gaming humor. Knowing the story takes place in a crappy, buggy MMO makes things about it so funny, especially the dragon girl transformation scene.

The true answer is **The Iceblade Sorcerer Shall Rule the World**. It is the HOTTEST ~~or coldest I should say~~ non-Isekai out there, like my god there is nothing quality about this show. Thoroughly enjoyed the hell out of every single episode, so much damn fun. Ray White is a legend
