Code Geass episode 25

So I finish Code Geass episode 25, S1, and its leaving me at a cliffhanger and S2 comes back a year later, and that brings me to the question, I saw his sister fall, what's going on with the fight, and what happens between Lelouch and his friend? Like, for clarification, please do not spoil this, I am just asking, do I watch like a special or OVA to be filled in, is it just crunchyroll cutting it short, or is it done intentionally?

For context, it is widely believed that this show was supposed to be 50 episodes. This was cut into two seasons of 25 episodes, and certain elements of the story had to be changed. A lot of people say it was an ass pull of an ending to the first season - which is true to a certain extent.

First I've heard about that.

I only know that they weren't sure during Season 1 if they were going to get a Season 2 or not, and were preparing for either.

Remember Eps 24 and 25 were delayed because of production issues. Those were definitely made after they knew they were getting a Season 2.
