If you plan to only watch it once to see how it was then subbed. If you don't mind watching a show a few times then dubbed the first run to see if you think it worth watching again subbed.

Yeahhhh this is one where I really have to insist on sub.
This is one of the times where the english dubs are just.....dumb. There are plenty of instances where the characters are speaking english, or using a japanese word that is so close to english that you know exactly what they are saying and the dub ends up using totally different words. In fact there is a infamous part where one of the characters says "chan-ce" and the dub translates it to wunderbar. Not only did they not translate it correctly, but they actually made it less intelligible to english audiences.
If I met the people behind the dub, I would say that I am not mad, I am just disappointed.

Subbed is far superior, including at one point the greatest scream in anime IMHO.
If you do the dub, watch the more recent Netflix dub, while I know some people have nostalgia for it I find the original ADV dub quite horrendous.
