Mahou Sensou is genuinely awful.
The Promised Neverland season 2 only
No joke, I actually enjoyed it under this lens. There is something oddly hilarious about watching a show Any% Pacifist Speedrun its own plot.
i binged it to see if it ever got good. never did
\*finishes manga\* “nope. he doesn’t.”
Don't watch it.
PowerPoint Presentation is like Blue Lock and TBATE.
The Beginning After the End and One Punch Man Season 3 are pretty bad.

Now for terrible series:
Alice to Alice
My Sister, My Writer
Conception (warning it has one of the greatest EDs of all time)
The Sacred Blacksmith
The banished former hero lives as he pleases
Failure frame (honestly should be a mediocre show, but the awful cgi pushed it below that)
Isekai Cheat Magician
A nobody's way up to an exploration hero (the manga is actually way better and doesn't follow the plot of the anime or novels)
The first episode is some badly written, useless ecchi, and then they dumped it for the rest of the series and the last episode is actually pretty great
boku no piku
berserk 2016
netflix ghost in the shell (FUCK NETFLIX)
most disappointing anime that had IMMENSE potential and ruined it all - darling in the franxxx
[a taste of what to expect](https://youtu.be/5dXLdwkW2R8)
Peter Grill and the Philosopher’s Time
If you want something genuinely rage inducing watch Magical Destroyers. Show starts off so strong then Just keeps fizzling out until it shits itself and dies on the floor. So much wasted potential it’s legitimately depressing.
Pupa
Skelter Heaven
It’s about people shitting and getting rewarded with candy bars. There’s a diaper gang.
Synopsis:
“After the world ran out of all traditional energy sources, only one remained—human excrement. To encourage citizens to produce as much waste as possible, the government implants a chip in the anus at birth, which provides citizens with "juicybars" every time it detects defecation. Juicybars are highly addictive narcotics that sometimes transform their users into mutant blue dwarfs with extreme constipation. These mutant addicts make up the "Diaper Gang," those who live underground and are focused on trying to obtain juicybars.”
Till 2027
Or whatever it’s called lol
I remember hating it, but I can't for the life of me remember why.
Let me just summarize it for you as much as I could. Sara's once kindhearted older brother Ralph suddenly became a murderous threat to innocent lives and everyone thought he's a traitor. Sara tries uncovering the truth and eventually finds out that her brother was merely brainwashed by an alien race called Emily (who plans to wipe out humanity after they tried experimenting on some of their kind), but Sara (for some reason) view Emily as completely innocent and murders her brother while illogically accusing him for his unintentional actions, not feeling any remorse for what she did, and the series ended with the rest of the characters viewing Ralph as evil and the last scene is a cliffhanger that never explains what happens to Emily's race after everything that happened, especially since their race caused all the deaths in the series. Sara even tries acting like she sympathizes with her brother despite the fact that she literally killed him so ruthlessly after learning the truth.

The worst
The MC is insufferable pitty party throwing jerk. He has zero character development and is just mean to basically everyone expect a girl who makes it very clear that she does not like him and was only used him for about 5 seconds but that was enough time to make him a creepy stalker incel over her. Everyone else made me keep watching it but he made me hate the anime as a whole. One of the worst MCs in anything I have ever watched period. Not just anime
Fun concept with an absolute bangin’ OP. Too bad the creators had to lean way into idiocy.
there's a lot of uninteresting slop every single anime season from here to the 1980s
season 1 of Ikki Tousen, though, has to be one of the worst things I've ever seen, but the rest of the series is strangely fun and enjoyable (the second season is kind of spooky and is a successor series rather than a season 2, I think)
Sooooo bad.
Maybe I just need to give Cheat Skill a bit longer to hit the “so bad it’s good” stage🤔
The awful animations of my boy Yuya running up stairs lives in my head rent free.
Oh btw he fucking suplexes a bear at one point.
The whole thing is such utter wish fulfilling trash it's hilarious to me.
Lol, him running up stairs is pretty funny, I admit.
I guess I just wasn’t mentally prepared for the level of cliche it brought.
I’ll give it another go and try to enjoy it for its ridiculousness. At least until the bear suplexing.
Im saving your eyes from such a horror
Good job!
Dragonball GT
Hitman Reborn starts out terrible then gets really good when it switches from a gag to an action series
Gantz (great manga, terrible anime. I wish the AoT team would redo it)
Someone mentioned Bobobo, which I had forgotten
I wouldn’t want someone to base their opinion of anime on Thundercats
Undefeated Bahamuth Chronicle (Dub)
Some of the sentences said had my group and me rolling, that we had to pause. It is probably comparable to Ghost Stories in English, but not as off plot? (Haven't seen Ghost Stories) Still, some of the jokes are so good, I can't explain them without giggling.
But without that, it is just a very mediocre show. Not bad, but also not unpredictable nor tense.
It's like a Bud Spencer movie with anime girls!
Noble on the Brink of Ruin is also probably the worst Isekai I've ever had the displeasure of watching
Another interesting one is Mayoiga, but whether you call it bad or not depends on how you interpret it by the end. Also, for a better experience you need to check the episode threads when the show was airing. Seeing some people make theories and slowly lose their minds as the show defied their expectations was peak entertainment (certainly more fun than the show itself).
-
Also fun trivia, one of the r/anime subreddit bots comes from this show apparently.
u/autolovepon which is named after the character from Mayoiga, Lovepon.
It was absolute peakslop and remains the highest delta between my score and the MAL score (9 vs. 5.49).
This one no good 0.5/5
Starts off as a cool premise about motors in roller blades (Air Treks) allowing riders to do cool tricks and have "Parts Wars" its really neat and some cool stuff happens and yada yada the bad guys take over an aircraft carrier with Barack Obama held hostage after being mind swapped with a japanese teenage girl.
All while the Air Trek riders literally have their roller blades break all known laws of physics because they're genetically modified humans who were created for the sole purpose of modifying their roller blades to bestow themselves with superpowers (One rider actually slows down time with the heat causes by his roller blades)
Watching the show and reading the Manga is literally the worst and also best decision you could possibly do.
God I love it.
The last season of Tokyo Ghoul
One Punch Man S3
The Promised Neverland S2
Any Junji Ito adaptation, but Uzumaki pissed me off the most.
Ex-Arm
Berserk 2016
I remember I tried to watch it. Two seasons, but I couldn't finish it. I don't even remember what it was about
So dumb. The MC is so edgy and makes really dumb decisions. It felt like it was written by a 12 year old.
Its so bad it circles right back to being good in a cringe way
Based on a visual novel by Ryukishi with an incredible soundtrack by Yuki Kajiura. Just like Higurashi, the protagonist moves to a city where not all is at it seems.
There's no way it's bad right?
(It's bad.)
It's the worst Isekai slop I watched so far
Garzey's Wing gets my vote, particularly the dub.
All versions are hilariously bad but the dub makes it even funnier.
Mars of Destruction is also famously terrible and also isn't a huge timesink either.
Divine Gate is hilariously bad too, which is a shame because I really wanted to like it due to the art style and character designs. But it was genuinely so fucking bad it was funny.
Both are true dumpster fires of OVA's and Skelter Heaven is by far the absolute worst rated anime of all time on MAL (only title that got rated below 2, it has 1.89 as of the time of writing this).
Fun fact: the studio/producer (Idea Factory) behind these disasters is actually the same company that did end up making Hyperdimension Neptunia. Quite a change, isn't it?
Wait a minute, I might have saved one of my wall of text descriptions.
[Edit]
Could not find it.
Anyway, in paper it looks promising you get urobuchi gen, kinoko nasu and ryogi Narita to collaborate and write a fantasy story. You do it by the way of having them collaborate in a dungeon and dragons session.
what you did not expect was that only Narita got the message, urobuchi gen was trolling all the time, nasu wanted to force his tropes into the plot and poor Narita is heading cats. The other two less experienced artist are kind just taken for a ride ( they are the two mcs btw).
Taken at face value , without knowing the context it's a series with inexplicable high production values and a horrible broken plot and weird characters, so it definitely fits the "bad anime" category.
And if you know the context it's like watching a let's play starred by your favorite authors. For the less experienced persons in the sub, urobuchi gen is the author of Madoka magica, paycho pass, etc, kinoko nasu is the author of the fate series and Narita is the author of durara and bacano
One example is that gen trolled so hard that they decided to change his character from a male monk to a female assassin. Dunno if it was punishment or to make his character more acceptable.
Let's just say I've never seen anything as unrealistic as the "bunny girl gimmick". So if you manage to see how the show is beyond that do let me know.
that's the worst I can think right now
