One of the best comedy anime shows is Nodame Cantabile
Hear me out.
Megumi Noda's "Gyado" when she is excited, angry, or anything when she has a burst of adrenaline always gets a chuckle out of me mainly with the way how her VA always says it with a cartoonish high pitched voice.
Also with the onesided romance she has toward the male MC Shinichi Chiaki who always chastises her for everything she does from her unkempt apartment, the faces she makes while playing the piano, the honey and lemon with a tupperware container of honey and uncut lemons is always a great visual gag
Then there's the rivalry the visiting conductor Franz Von Stresemann has toward Chiaki for being Megumi's love interest. Even Chiaki idolized him somewhat before getting to know that the man is a pervert and that he hate's Chiaki's mentor the European conductor Vieri (because Stresemann tried to hit on Vieiri's wife at a party)
[](https://nodamecantabile.fandom.com/wiki/Franz_Von_Stresemann)The antics of the students of the S-Orchestra all have a unique personality especially the "queen of the Timpani" Okuyama who is a male with an afro who has a one sided homosexual fantasy toward Chiaki, the violin player Ryutaro Mine who acts high and mighty and always performs with a touch of rock music antics, and all the woman of the S-orchestra (and the school) who all love Chiaki and who Noda gets pissed off about.
Even if classical music isn't your favorite the comedy/romance of the show will definitely be worth it when/if you decide to watch it.

I enjoyed the manga so much I was afraid to watch the anime, but when I finally watched it, I found the adaptation pretty perfect (even though I notice some skipping of parts). I was delighted to learn that goofy songs Nodame sings were actually written by the Nodame's role model (who was apparently the friend of the mangaka).
It kills me that Nodame has never been relicensed since Hulu purged their anime catalog years ago. Retrocrush before they were bought apparently tried to get it but was unable to. It is just to good a series to not relicensed and there isn't even any physicals to buy. Unless you count the malaysia knock off.
Anime was nice and I love Nodame's silly "fart" song and that other "mochya-mochya" (or whatever) one. The EDs were catchy! There's a live action, by the way, but I haven't seen it.
Comedy wise I'd put it in the better half.
