What OP/ED do you think has the best music video?
As many of you know, most opening or ending songs for both anime and tv dramas (including tokusatsu) have music videos that are either unrelated to their series, or actively reference them.
With that introduction, I want to know which are your favorite (official) music videos of anime openings or endings, for starters, here's my current Top 3.
1- [Kaiju - Sakanaction](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a8dgNdJVluc) (Opening theme for Orb: On the Movements of the Earth)
This is not only one of my favorite anime openings, but also one of my favorite music videos as a whole, all the visuals are just amazing, you can really emphatize with Ichiro Yamaguchi's (lead singer as well) journey, and as a parallel of sorts, you can see some parallels between the music video and the plot of the anime itself (won't say much, to avoid spoilers).
2- [After Dark - Asian Kung Fu Generation](https://youtu.be/J_IsnEZcl4E?si=isLDjRhHiYrJzu4G) (7th Opening for Bleach)
Funnily enough, in this case I think there's a tie between the opening and the music video, as both are very compelling. This music video tells a very heartwarming story if you ask me, I really enjoy the final part, where both the song and the music video build up to the climax.
3- [Days - Flow](https://youtu.be/uo0jE0oXITk?si=2SFHPyf1K4rPZrtF) (1st Opening for Eureka Seven)
This one is a very cool video as well, as I really enjoy music videos that have either fantasy or sci-fi elements to them even if they're not related to the song at all.
Which are your personal pick/s?

The opening is still one of my favorites and easily one of the best for me. As for the final episodes, I’m satisfied with how things turned out. I’m glad it ended on a good note.
And even though the anime came out almost 10 years ago, I’ll always be waiting and coping and hoping for a continuation.
As for a continuation, I feel like the anime ended on a pretty solid story beat. I dunno if we could have DITF in the future without the Franxx part. Maybe an alternate version of the universe or a revamp like Evangelion did would be interesting.
My favorite OP/ED artists or bands rarely have MVs, or their best MVs are on other songs. Mili has almost none, sadly.
Pretty much all Eve music videos are amazing

A stop motion thriller seemingly with themes of humanity and apocalypse just like the source? Yes please!

[**Let You Down**](https://youtu.be/BnnbP7pCIvQ?si=ZIHBfLLYm3sRfThE) (Cyberpunk Edgerunners ED 1)
---
The music video is a fully animated standalone prequel to the show, need I say more?

[**Hai to Inori**](https://youtu.be/iqQP4zBBv4g?si=hS0LRsqFsgqxYgrc) by Gems Company(written/composed by Yoko Taro and Keiichi Okabe)

Written and composed by the Nier writer/director and composer respectively, and boy howdy can you tell.

[**Orphan Tears**](https://youtu.be/_pyfH3oj_eg?si=RpkAaQuNVJ8NIich) by Misia (Gundam IBO ED 1)

A really cool Sci-Fi idea that vibes hard with the lounge singer vibes of the song and thematically ties back to IBO. I do have a small gripe that the "Orphans" are a bit too clean though, their "dirt" is too obviously makeup for the relatively high production values elsewhere in the Music Video. Their hair is also too silky and clean. But that's super nitpicky, and the strengths far outweigh the weaknesses. [Music Video Spoilers. That I feel the need to do this should say how much]>!Particularly the moment with the pull out revealing they're on an ark, and then the further "reveal" they're dreaming, but not necessarily declaring that they aren't actually on the ark regardless.!<

[**Hyori Ittai**](https://youtu.be/eKoD2CRr_KA?si=GvfFboTTYGYulLhH) by Yuzu (Hunter X Hunter 2011 ED 5)

Really neat playing with black and white and neat lighting paired with kaleidoscope visuals drive the video forward along with the music.

[**Ikite Sansan**](https://youtu.be/yW3RdDbkVw4?si=wJ8jFUWIbypxEB1T) by Ikimonogatari (Kingdom Season 6 OP 1)
---
I'm not sure if there's any specific culture being referenced with the dancers or if it's just generally tribal vibes, but visually they are very clearly based on the Western Qin Mountain tribes from the show, legally distinct Yuang Duane in particular.

[**My First Story**](https://youtu.be/msLkh1fE8Os?si=wuNy-fpbpyEYTch8) by Sayuri (Golden Kamuy OP 2)

Very direct references to the source show, Sayuri is dressed as Asirpa, the tattoos and the code they build is constant in the editing. RIP Sayuri.

Ninkoro Dance, ED for Ninkoro (A Ninja And An Assassin Living Under One Roof). It has a lot of energy and the end credits animation is a music video that evolves from episode to episode as the plot progresses.
Wrong World, OP for Girls Band Cry. This might be cheating.
Also, just about every song from Girls Band Cry is great. I'm glad others have seen the series. And while it's not an OP or ED, Emptiness and Catharsis is fantastic.
[Chiaki Ishikawa - Utsukushikereba Sore de Ii](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dYqoJLKYTkU) - Simoun OP

I can not stress enough how much I love Red Birthmark. Aina's soulful singing is just wonderful.

Watch this and tell me this isn't one of the best ED videos you ever saw. It just looks absolutely beautiful
Other than that, Ao to Kirameki, OP from my dressup darling s2. I've OP & ED on auto skip, but I specifically disable that only for this one. It's just beautiful for me, wholesome, fun, wonderful
