Looking for an anime (mecha / dark fantasy, early 2000s?
Hi everyone,
I wish you happy new year !
Looking for an anime (mecha / dark fantasy, early 2000s?)
I’m trying to identify an anime with a dark, mystical atmosphere. It features robotic, living creatures rather than classic cockpit mechas.
The main character rides a white robotic horse (he is on it, not inside it). This white horse originally belonged to his mentor, a woman (possibly red-haired). Later in the story, the mentor is associated with a black robotic horse. The two horses do not fight each other.
In the final act, there is a large tower or central structure. Four robotic creatures fight around the tower as a diversion while the MC ascends it on the white horse. The mentor is present during this final battle. I also remember a giant green turtle-like robotic creature helping during the finale.
There is a young blonde girl, initially connected to the tower/system. Near the end, she betrays the tower to help the heroes, and is killed by tentacle-like structures. It is revealed that she is robotic/artificial.
The MC ultimately wins by punching the tower, holding a crystal or stone in his fist, rather than using a weapon or beam attack.
The anime is serious, tragic, and mystical, likely from the late 1990s or early 2000s, possibly aired on cable TV in Europe.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
