Help find an anime about 2 girls

Watched this around 10 years ago. Not sure if it was an anime or donghua. It was about a red haired girl who sacrifices herself in a battle and I believe the show was about a blue haired girl dealing with that loss. The red haired girls death scene had like explosions in the background while she was kinda gliding across the screen. Not sure if the battle had like mechs or tanks. I think they were involved in like a military or something.

Sorry if everything is very vague.

That kinda sounds like the opening scene to Symphogear

Matscheee2026-01-02 15:14

Maybe Symphogear?

If its not symphogear it could maybe be WorldEnd, short for What Do You Do at the End of the World? Are You Busy? Will You Save Us? (終末なにしてますか？　忙しいですか？　救ってもらっていいですか？, Shūmatsu Nani Shitemasu ka? Isogashii Desu ka? Sukutte Moratte Ii Desu ka?)

As the first episode starts off with a flash forward of a battle scene from the last episodes. Red and blue hair present.
