Yes. It takes a while to really get going but once it starts, it doesn't stop.
S2 also comes out this year and having read the arc, it should be really good.

I wouldn’t say darker or actual higher stakes tbh, it’s pretty Saturday morning cartoon/disney for the most part. Character development is good for a handful of characters but most of the side cast get less development than even shippuden sadly

I’m in the minority here, I watched about 90-100 episodes and dropped it. I like the premise but I actively dislike most of the characters and the animation got really bad for a minute there but I’m guessing it recovers

I was sorta in the same boat. Dropped it 3 or 4 times before finally powering through the main big arc. Everyone kept saying it got better and maybe it did a bit but I just really don’t like 90% of the cast and it felt like one big ass pull after the next

Its okay if a show is just not for u. That is possible even if the show is highly popular.
Same with games i bought elden rong and baldurs gate 3 both game of the year, thinking it must be good. But i dont enjoy those games and dropped them both. Lesson learned

Yep I just dropped it at episode 88. I don’t actively dislike most of the characters but I also didn’t actually like any of them. My favorite character is the dude that only whispers and I don’t even know his name.

It’s very generic/run of the mill. It takes shonen tropes and turns them up to 11 without really doing anything unique or better than it’s predecessors (maybe the pacing, it has super quick pacing which is a breath of fresh air but also a detriment to the world building)
If you like fairy tail then you’ll probably like it as they’re very similar. The series does pick up a bit later but asta annoyed me even far into the anime. Best thing about the series is the manga art, tabata has great art

a lot of people, even Black Clover fans, agree that the beginning of the series is the roughest part. So if you enjoyed the first 13 episodes and didn't find Asta's yelling annoying or something else made you drop it, then yes, it will get better from there

Well it doesn't get Berserk dark lol but darker than the beginning of the show, I'm a sucker for good character development which is why Naruto is my favorite. But yeah the swing in naruto gets better development than most anime.
