so i just finished watching initial D

and im kinda lost on what they meant at the end... did Takumi \[Initial D\] >!go pro or did he quit racing altogether? like they showed him once as a on the circuit but he wasn't one of the drivers!<

(also idk why the fk there's 200 words limit for a discussion post when i have a straightforward question and need a straightforward answer...)

Watch MF Ghost and find out. I agree that the ending of Initial D is too abrupt.

Its just one of the issues of the anime and manga industry. Big pacing issue. The final race with ryosuke took a year to publish in the manga. They gave the author a really lax schedule and at the end and was only drawing 5 to 8 pages per chapter. Which is another reason it took so long.

Considering the length of the series, it's odd how little it actually covers so that adds up, though I imagine drawing the races is way harder than animating it with motion in mind. Ippo has had a lot of 14 page chapters too over the years.

More than just pacing issues, I think that the industry has an issue with the follow through on endings. Fans follow these series for year and years and then the final battle ends and boom it's suddenly over. It lacks catharsis and I feel like that's when you should do some epilogue-like work.

It's just like how anime are for advertisement more than anything, it's too profit driven and said profit isn't even spread around properly.

If only. More like we get that as a side story in a series that isn't finished so they can slap in some of the previously toned down ecchi into one non-TV episode.
