This is an older one I like My Little Monster
Cool-Ad-6822026-01-03 16:56
Ooooh ☺ I watched it this morning. Honestly, I just picked it randomly from the list of anime on the site I’m watching. It was so good. Looking forward for the Season 2 ☺
ClemFire2026-01-03 17:01
Oh nice! I was recommended it from this sub a few years ago. Natsume is my favorite from the show with Haru as a close second
Cool-Ad-6822026-01-03 17:44
Nastume is really protective to her circle of friends right. Just protecting both Haru and Shizu to the class rep and Yamaken 😂
ClemFire2026-01-03 17:58
Yep, and I liked how her arc was about making real friends because people just saw her for her looks before
Hellstorm9012026-01-03 16:44
Tsuki Ga Kirei
Nachtwandler_FS2026-01-03 16:47
Erm, it gets recommended in almost every thread on the sub.
Tesuji642026-01-03 17:17
Because it’s so good
Cool-Ad-6822026-01-03 16:58
Thank you. I will search it up ☺
Affectionate-Can-2312026-01-03 16:44
Love of kill, you are ms servant, our last crusade or the rise of a new world, 365 days to wedding, Kowloon generic romance, I love romance as well.
Cool-Ad-6822026-01-03 17:03
Thanks! I'll look them up. I already watched Love of Kill though. The rest is almost unfamiliar to me ☺

Maison Ikkoku
It's a masterpiece in romance and definitely the most satisfying I've seen, but the amount of episodes probably drives away some people since it's a slow-burn story. It also probably doesn't help that it's not available to legally stream anywhere, meaning most people browsing streaming sites will never know it exists.
Cool-Ad-6822026-01-03 17:08
Oh. I searched for it. Perhaps it's a classic anime?
_BMS2026-01-03 17:19
I'd say it's a classic. The anime was produced in the late 80s but the visuals and music still hold-up good today in my opinion.
https://myanimelist.net/anime/1453/Maison_Ikkoku
If the internet was dying and I had to pick one single romance to watch forever, it'd be Maison Ikkoku. I still go back to rewatch the ending episodes every now and then because they're extremely well written, respects all the development the characters have gone through over the course of the story, and ties everything up nicely.
A lot of romances start off great but fumble the ending, Maison Ikkoku delivers the ultimate satisfying ending. Couldn't imagine a better conclusion than what we got.

Nachtwandler_FS2026-01-03 17:57
Yeah, mainly late 90s, 2000s. So not super old.

Oh, is that our famous Sawako? 😁 I watched it already! (and shed tears in few episodes) Thank you ☺
Veritas33332026-01-03 17:02
Scum's Wish is really good, though you might not feel good watching it
Cool-Ad-6822026-01-03 17:27
Oh... I already watched it as well. Definitely did not felt good after watching it 😫 It gave me mixed feelings. I think it really stuck with me for a day. But... it's masterpiece and I liked it ☺😌

I don’t know what would be considered less known, but:
Bunnygirl Senpai
Kaguya-sama: Love is War
Suzuka
Toradora!
If you read manga, check out Sundome and Prison School.

Thank you for these suggestions. They are all interesting. I looked it up. Maybe I'll watch Soshimin Series today ☺
MusubiKazesaru2026-01-03 18:54
My pleasure. Shoshimin Series is an interesting one where it's very romantic, but you need to look at the subtext too to see it so pay attention as it unfolds. It's from the same writer as Hyouka.

Honestly, look up josei or seinen romance. There’s probably several that are not too well known.
Cool-Ad-6822026-01-03 18:04
Thank you for the genre suggestions 😭 Been struggling to pick up the genre of romance animes. (Just Because looks interesting)
harrellj2026-01-03 17:28
I've really enjoyed Horimiya (though hard to consider that less well known), More than a married couple but less than lovers (I'd warn that its definitely ecchi in the sense of plenty of panty shots but the hardest they go is 3 different kisses) and odd as it is to say: 7th time loop. That last one is also in the villainess genre if that matters to you, but the romance between Arnold and Rishe is quite well done and I dearly wish more was translated to have questions answered.
