Good god I hate this trope

I'm watching 'May I Ask For One Final Thing' and while the gold haired prince Julius is an otherwise acceptable character, I hate the scenes where he grabs Scarlet or drags his fingers across her lips and shit like that.

It just freaks me out and I always hate watching people invade other's personal space while they're obviously taken aback, acting like they are God's suave gift to the earth. In a show where she punches people out, I was really sad she didn't whenever he does this.

If you want to dislike it even more, that behavior also part of a common method of breaking untamed horses. Confident and deliberate contact until the animal doesn't mind it anymore. I'm not sure if the author intended that comparison, but considering Scarlet's personality and more importantly, how she's viewed among the nobility, I had the uncomfortable realization that it makes too good of a parallel.

I don't think the author _intended_ anything. It's just an unfortunately common way for writers without the necessary skill to _simulate_ romance without, y'know actually writing either the process of getting closer or the volatility of fast and intense intimacy.

I suppose it's doubly as noticeable in this particular case because in theory Scarlet should answer with way more friction than what she usually does.

It's not as bad as _I'll Become a Villainess who Goes Down in History_ at least

As I said, I don't know what the author was intending, just that it paralleled the behavior. And on that note, I'm leaning more to the side that the author didn't intend it to represent it that way, but it ended up matching it pretty well anyway.

But that seems to be a really common trope:
- Squeezing the girl's boobs, and her only response is to look startled, indignant, and then jealous when he gropes some other girl
- Verbally or physically abusive character, but the MC insists they're best friends.
- Same with those tsundere girls that the MC blindly chases even after she beats/tortures/publicly humiliates him
