I watched 14 shows during the summer season and it was a little much. This season doesn't look that heavy but the big shows are really big.

First episode felt like a movie. Unreal. Just stumbled into it and was like, "welp, guess I'm invested in this now."

9 is exactly what you said. They have a pretty consistent fanbase, but there's usually two or three per season. It seems to be uncontested in the space this season, so all of their votes go funneled into one.

while Polar Opposites does have that premise, its better than average - it's a complete story that wasn't dragged on, some might say it has Horimiya vibes because of the ensemble class and wholesomeness of the friend interactions.

Polar opposites have a very good cast, that actually develops into actual couples (who I find more interesting than the main couple). The premise is nothing notable I agree, but it's very charming. It's also by Lapin Track too, who did a phenomenal job with Shoshimin and the teaser for this 1 looks real promising.

its the highly rated harem manga for the right reasons, just a really good read so far, I just hope they won't stretch it to oblivion and give it an apt ending

It's an award winning manga. It's up there with Ping Pong and Haikyuu as my favorite sports anime.

You don't have to care about skating as the characters carry the show(but the skating scenes are still really good). The dynamic between the protagonist and her teacher is just wonderful. It would be a challenge NOT to love them.

It's an incredible show/manga even if you don't care about ice skating or child protagonists. I don't generally like sports manga nor ice skating, but I can say that Medalist is one of my favorite manga ever by sheer character developments and raw emotions.

The two main characters (and the rival) aren't really who they appear to be at first.

I love when I am drowning in a bunch of my favorite series. Possibly something to watch everydayyyy~

Wasn't this poll before episode 1 released though? It would make sense for there to be less anticipation for a "new" series compared to all those big sequels. (Just putting "new" in quotes since it is based on a LN that has been ongoing for a few years after all. I don't know how popular or well-known the LN for Sentenced to be a Hero is in any case.)

I wrote sentenced to be a hero off as more isekai slop until I actually watched it, now its probably my number 3 hype for the season after frieren and hells paradise

The first cour is completed (production on it I mean), so at least these 13 episodes + Whispers of Dawn will all be available by the end of March.

It's close to the Shibuya arc in tone and style but if you think the fights there are pointless and you don't care for most of its characters, JJK has nothing but more disappointment left in store for you.

Plus, even as someone who is a huge fan of the upcoming arc, the story's ending was pretty bad. Half the characters get shafted by either being thrown to the sidelines in favor of new characters, not mattering at all despite the buildup in previous arcs or having incredibly deflating and/or frustrating end points.

My impression by the end was that Gege really hates 99% of his own characters. At least that's how he treats them. There are a handful of notable exceptions but I don't want to spoil any specifics.

I didn’t read what came after, so I can’t say anything about it, but the culling game amazed me on how EVERYTHING I wanted to know more about was either forgotten or resolved in a disappointing way.

Also we got introduced to a bazillion characters with each one with a more complicated power than the another just for them to disappear right after.

The writing was bad too. Too much exposition with very little pay up. I felt like I was reading a togashi copycat who didn’t understood what made togashi’s writing good and thought that if he just crammed complicated powers with strange rules into wall of texts it would be as amazing as the chimera arc and, well, it didn’t worked for me.

As lastly all the premise felt like it was coming out of nowhere. I know a manga don’t HAVE to follow its structure all its way until the end, but the thing about the culling game for me is that it didn’t felt natural, the story was going into a interesting way and suddenly gege pulled a hunger games that never payed up…
