Anime recs for someone barely getting into it?
I’m just getting into anime and I’d like some recs. I got a year long subscription to CrunchyRoll if that helps people know the catalog of shows I have access to. The first show I’ve been binging is Solo Leveling and I like it a lot. Kinda salty to see there’s currently no 3rd season but I’m excited for the things they have in the works. I also started JuJutsu Kaisen and I’m liking it as well. When I was younger I used to watch some Dragon Ball Z but not a lot. I’m open to anything. If there are any cozy animes with a female protagonist, I’d like recommendations for that as well. I don’t mind fan service but I don’t think many cater to women 😭 at least from what I’ve read on here.

What qualifies as "cozy" seems to vary a lot, but for whatever it's worth some suggestions I'd make are:
* [Kamichu](https://myanimelist.net/anime/489/Kamichu?q=kamichu&cat=anime)
* [Shirobako](https://myanimelist.net/anime/25835/Shirobako) is a gentle workplace comedy about an adult woman working in the anime industry, so it's both fun in itself and sort of an education.
* [K-On](https://myanimelist.net/anime/5680/K-On?q=k-on&cat=anime)
* [Kiki's Delivery Service](https://myanimelist.net/anime/512/Majo_no_Takkyuubin?q=kiki&cat=anime)
* [Whisper of the Heart](https://myanimelist.net/anime/585/Mimi_wo_Sumaseba?q=whisper&cat=anime)
* [Haibane Renmei](https://myanimelist.net/anime/387/Haibane_Renmei)
* [Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun](https://myanimelist.net/anime/23289/Gekkan_Shoujo_Nozaki-kun)
* [Cardcaptor Sakura](https://myanimelist.net/anime/232/Cardcaptor_Sakura) is pitched a bit younger but is very charming if it works for you.
Chihayafuru - a sports anime about a kinda weird Japanese card slapping game. It's full of passion, romance, with absolutely beautiful visuals and music.
Cells at Work! Learn about the human body with a clumsy red blood cell and a hot, broody, mysterious white blood cell. It's cute and strangely romantic.
Skip and Loafer is a story about a girl from the country who moves to Tokyo for high school. Very wholesome and fun depictions of teenage friendship.
Horimiya is a story about a boy and a girl who fall in love with each other and then have a really good time being in love with each other.
There are also a bunch of magical girl shows you could watch if you want. I don't think you'll ever run out of episodes of Precure, for example.
I'm barely even scratching the surface here, mind you. There are a ton of stories out there that were written by women, about women, for women.
Note, I'm not too familiar with Shoujo (catered specifically to women), feel free to research that demographic for dozens of awesome anime.
Ok, strong and independent female characters and very engaging stories (Solo Leveling is not among these given that SL women (and men) are all damsels in distress):
1). Apothecary Diaries
2). Dungeon Meshi
3). Medalist
4) Frieren
5). Ascendance of a Bookworm
6). Shadow House
7). Dorohedoro
8). Spice and Wolf
9). Made in Abyss
10). Ruri Rocks
11). Vinland Saga. (Smart women and good story, but this about male vikings selling farmers into slavery, so... it's tragic)
12). Orb on the Movements of the Earth
Don't worry. I understand why you enjoyed the action and music in Solo Leveling, but SL is actually the bottom of the barrel. Anime absolutely caters to both sexes. Some anime cater to men to the detriment of women (battle shounen commonly take away agency/power from women for the sake of using them as easy damsels for the young male audience to rescue).
I would have given summaries for all these anime but... i'm feeling lazy today. My bad.
You can watch anything on this list and get away with a high quality story. I suggest going top down.

* With You and the Rain
* See You Tomorrow at the Food Court
* The Aquatope on White Sand
