Awards shows are completly made up by whatever site wants to do it, so there are tons. Same goes for movies or games. There is not one game awards show either.

Because lots of different groups and organizations have different thoughts and different voting bodies who would each create awards. Pretty much every form of media has multiple major awards. For example, if you want film awards, you can look to The Oscars, The Golden Globes, every other country's equivalent to those awards, and in America at least the critics guilds of every state (plus other organizations) hold awards. That's naturally not including awards lists by publications or blogs or directors. There's not one singular authority on movies, nor is there one on anime.
For anime, which doesn't really have a strong body of critics, awards are typically events held by fans and run by volunteers. The r/anime awards are entirely run by people in this community. The Crunchyroll Awards exist but they're a meme and everyone hates them, so naturally other communities hold their own awards, as do individual creators.

A bunch of people in a bunch of different places vote and nobody agrees on anything so it doesn't even matter.

Completely depends on the site. Every site has different methods.

Varies based on site. I only know of two.
Here on r/anime, a poll is sent out where members can nominate whatever they want. Top 4(?) of that gets selected as “audience picks” and the judges panel selects another 4 from the remainders as “judge’s picks”, so you get a mix of both more popular and more acclaimed (in theory) shows which usually leads to some interesting results.
For Crunchyroll, the “professional” judges do all the nominating. It might change year-to-year, but the last time I remember someone talk about it, each judge gets 100 points per category that they can allocate wherever they feel like it and then the six highest totals get the nominations.

Tokyo Anime Awards: (the big one) anime from Fall the previous year up to Summer of that year, every one goes into a pot and the 80 highest cumulatively voted anime and 20 highest cumulatively voted movies go into a final 100. The public get 3 votes. The jury can change a few of the lower ranked ones if they so desire. The final 100 goes into another cumulative vote where the public gets 3 votes a day and the jury also pick a winner.
Reddit /r/anime awards: a tonne of categories, the public pick 5 eligible entries, the jury then pick 5 eligible entries, and then the jury and public vote. It's done using formulas so the votes are a bit more informed. There's also bonus fun categories that are done on a cumulative jury vote. Honourable mentions can also be given in production categories.
Crunchyroll Anime Awards: they make it up as they go along.
