Full Metal Panic. I love the characters, the military/sci-fi storyline is exciting and the comedy is pretty great too.

ProspektNya2026-01-05 03:06

I'm taking this as a sign that I should finally watch FMP. I've read the light novels and adore them but I've never watched the anime.

Heda-of-Aincrad2026-01-05 06:07

You totally should! I watched the anime first and then read the novels. I think it's a great adaptation - not exactly the same as the novels at times, but I love the anime-original episodes too.

Trigun (1998). My favorite anime of all time and a hyperfixation of mine. It's very special to me.

SouekiSennoSTM2026-01-05 02:19

Inuyasha.

My fourth series and still the longest anime series I've ever watched by a sizable margin.

But unlike a lot of folks I come across online, I didn't watch it when it was airing either initially in Japan or dubbed for foreign overseas release in the early to mid-2000s, but not until a number of years later in 2016 (as I didn't start watching anime at all until then, apart from isolated cases).

Appropriate-While6012026-01-05 02:25

Inuyasha. Totally made me get into anime. I'd hear that insanely good outro and fall in love

Ill_Equivalent_18102026-01-05 02:27

Mob Psycho 100. Great animation, great characters, great story and all these are consistent through the seasons.

Wavenstein12026-01-05 02:34

It's always going to be DBZ for me. It's a great series with tons of action, humor, and heart and anime wouldn't be where it is worldwide without it

Heda-of-Aincrad2026-01-05 06:10

A childhood favorite of mine, and I still love it.

Embarrassed-Poem9532026-01-05 02:43

Since I really like romantic anime with sympathetic protagonists and great supporting characters, I'll say TORADORA, even though it's a few years old.

ProspektNya2026-01-05 03:03

Inuyasha. Not my first anime, but it was the third one I ever watched. A friend from high school convinced me to watch it. I still think it also has one of the greatest dubs of all-time.

For several years my favorite was Re:Zero, but I think it's more so my favorite light novel series now rather than my favorite anime.

HyruleNerd2026-01-05 11:00

i tried this show, but im really confused on why people like it, imo its a romance without romance (that being said i did drop it partway through so i wouldn’t really know) so what is appealing about it to you?

WTF_CAKE2026-01-05 11:48

The whole series is ass. However, with that being said. I read it weekly, as the pacing of the show is so awfully slow I just want to see how the main character gets the girl, and while waiting for that there’s all kinds of absurd events that happen in between

templeofbones2026-01-05 03:07

Samurai Champloo. Well written and likable characters, phenomenal soundtrack and amazing animation. The ending is also satisfying (even though I wanted it to go on longer) and a really good English dub.

Any_Rabbit_20202026-01-05 03:12

Tokyo ghoul - it’s my favourite anime because of the MC (Ken kaneki) and arima the two most strongest characters in the serie they have a deep connection to each other while being rivals it’s really good watch it trust me.

Sofaris2026-01-05 03:26

My favorite Anime is "Made in Abyss".

Its a Fantasy Adventure Anime about a little girl and a robot that go on an Adventure in a mysterious, beautiful, fantastical, dangerious and cruel netherworld.

This series is adorable, wholesome, joyful, heartwarming, dark, brutal, sad and heartbreaking.

Its the most adorable most wholesome show I know and Riko is one of the happiest protagonists I know.

This series has a reputation for being crazy dark and sad. You will find it on "Darkest Animes ever" lists.

Those two sides synergize well with one another.

In my opinion the series is also visualy beautiful and one thing most people agree on is that the music is amazing.

kn1g472026-01-05 05:43

Just wish it was finished… or would ever be finished in my lifetime lol

The music is the best of all time. No competition

Tuxecutor2026-01-05 12:52

Made in Abyss is one of the examples I give when I say that anime is art.

PsionicKitten2026-01-05 03:29

Steins;Gate. It's got so many nuanced jokes in it that are so easily overlooked, especially if you don't understand Japanese. Since learning more Japanese I've come to appreciate it even more. Aside from an A+ plot, the dialogue is 100% top notch.

Joldress2026-01-05 03:31

I enjoyed Rurouni Kenshin, both the anime and the manga.

Fruits Basket Reboot.

Absolutely inlove with the slice of life/fantasy. Touches on so many sensitive subjects like death and grief of loved ones. Character arcs are phenomenal.

It’s one I keep going back to every time and still feel the same emotions as the first one.

Guilty pleasure is Quintessential Quintuplets… love a good romance with a twist. Another one I’ve gone back to a lot.

Flying witch. It's a rare anime where iyashikei (think non non biyori) combined with magic, but set in real life

And made in abyss. Questionable things aside, it's a VERY unique anime with good worldbuilding and music

Saga of tanya the evil
For so so long an idea in my head is what if it was ww1 but there was magic then i stumbled on STE and it instantly blew my mind and i just sorta thought at the start that it was going to be a low quality anime but the more i watched the more realized that real effort was put into it. and i love just how unreasonably evil and cruel Tanya us throughout the entire show

Mickey101202026-01-05 07:52

For me it's hard to pick out what is my favorite anime of all time as I have many favorites and they can go here.

My rating for my favorite anime of all time comes down to a few things. The story, characters, my personal interest in the show, rewatchable and vibe of the show.

If I had to pick one to list here, I would pick Little Busters.

Great characters, fun stories & arcs, I have rewatched it multiply times while still enjoying it. It has comedy, drama, adventure & more while being wholesome, sad, heartfelt & more at the same time. The OST is amazing & it's one of the best in all of anime and I still listen to it today.

I will always recommend Little Busters to someone in hope they will love it as much as I do.

Toradora! Peak RomCom/Slice of Life storytelling and writing, awesome characters with amazing character developments, and the romantic buildup between the two main characters is incredible.
