Synopsis:

I feel that „head and shoulders above a metric ton of isakei slop” is an exaggeration. Mobseka is *relatively* similar to the usual bottom of the season isekai/fantasy. It has some differences, sure, but in the end those differences didn't matter that much *for me*, maybe they did for you.

One one hand, this was one of the worst shows I saw that season, mostly due to the animation or lack thereof (does anyone remember the power point fight between the girls?), and because of it feeling kinda generic, on the other hand it did have one noticeable moment and it looks like the animation might have improved.
So I guess I'll wait and see what else is airing the season this airs before deciding whether or not to continue.

I'm not sure that I agree that the plot was *that much* better than most bottom of the season isekai or fantasy anime out there. It had elements (mecha, matriarchy, the mystery of the world) of *potentially* having a better plot, but I don't remember thinking that it did anything worthwhile with them by the end of the season. Not beyond what I had seen, and what I have seen since, in countless other isekai/fantasy anime. The speech at the end and everyone complaining about the overall adaptation/animation was notable, but that's about it.
**I'm Quitting Heroing** aired that same season and that one felt like it used its plot elements a lot better than Mobseka.

She got a sob back story because the author wanted to make her suffer... And that made her even more sympathetic to the readers and she ended up winning the poll for who gets the spin off.
It gets better because he wanted another girl to get the spin-off, that is heavily hinted during the novel, she even has a dialog like (paraphrasing) " oh Leon,I wonder how things would have been if you and I have met first". And the author even made that spinoff as a collection of short stories iirc.

HOLY HELL YESS This was the series that got me back into the glorious world of dumpster-trash-yet-amazing anime. Like the whole thing was a trainwreck and it made no sense, but it was so ridiculous and exciting that I couldn't look away. It's been so long since the first season that I wonder if it'll hold up as much in an era where a lot of isekai parodies have really taken off, though.

S1 turned me off with MC's reliance on plot armor and "killing is baaad, m'kay?" tactics, among other stuff I forget now. I'll probably end up skipping this one.

I feel that „head and shoulders above a metric ton of isakei slop” is an exaggeration. Mobseka is *relatively* similar to the usual bottom of the season isekai/fantasy. It has some differences, sure, but in the end those differences didn't matter that much *for me*, maybe they did for you.
I was expecting generic trash isekai and found a series I genuinely got many good laughs out of, with a story I got surprisingly invested in.
So I guess I'll wait and see what else is airing the season this airs before deciding whether or not to continue.
**I'm Quitting Heroing** aired that same season and that one felt like it used its plot elements a lot better than Mobseka.
Dude just likes to waste our time.
It gets better because he wanted another girl to get the spin-off, that is heavily hinted during the novel, she even has a dialog like (paraphrasing) " oh Leon,I wonder how things would have been if you and I have met first". And the author even made that spinoff as a collection of short stories iirc.

Can't really think of any other 'harem story' that actually fully committed to the harem aspect.
Authors notes is like "so I was playing a bunch of Elite Dangerous and Stellaris..."
MC has a similar vibe to Hajime in that he pretends to be just in things for the money but the second one of his girls asks him to do the heroic thing he goes along with them.
Did it with Shanneasy in Sevens.
Loved the web novel translations, Mr. Lyle is super funny. But the light novel version somehow felt worse, either the translation or the novel itself get nerfed

Gym, Dating, Books, Traveling etcetera with mixed results. Not something super depressing, but not a sugary sweet SoL either.

Season 2's character designs are far more simpler with details, thicker lines and rounder shapes.
He wants to stay out of the main story of the game, but things aren't as they should so he gets involved anyway.
Also, even though it's a fantasy world most battle's are done with giant Robots.
i still remember mylene design on first season anime lacking in every sector compare manga leave alone LN which still best design for mylene

I actually liked the S1 art style, but I recall it being really unpopular (everyone hated the way they did the eyes).

Lol, so much of this was just comedy gold to me.
So god damn keen!
First season was a lovely surprise because of how intentionally funny and self aware it was. I’m excited for season 2! Bring on more Mylene!
Hopefully it is a much better experience than season 1 (fast paced, filled with Lit-RPG tropes).
