After this clip got me to check out the first (of two OVA) episodes, I certainly agree lol It's definitely very *seinen*, but more in a way that people who read a widespread of manga would recognize rather than more people who watch primarily anime and think that the label goes with more sophisticated writing and content, but here it just means everything is more bare-faced and rougher with the character sketches, in a "you've seen this all before, and we're just going to assume you know why things are the way they are" without any softening of it.
It's also a good test of whether or not you're a particular sort of weirdo or not, as the humor aspects are locked away behind things that are confronting to a lot of people on the surface. And yes, I pass the test, was mildly amused by some of the gags, and am *that* sort of weirdo, best kept away from the general public!
All that said, I do agree that leaving aside that aspect and the actual content, the writing, direction and VA work all add up to it being... just okay, even for the genre. Not time wasted as far as bawdy entertainment goes, but more just earned a chuckle and a few shrugs ultimately, and I'm not sure I'll get around to the second OVA.

If you want something that is (while very different) similar in some ways, I recommend Hare nocchi guu.
It's the kinda show that goes bonkers with it's comedy, while keeping it actually funny. While it's not always on, when it's on, it's to the wall.
The opening and ending give a really good expectation of the tone of the show. There's definitely something behind the comedy that enpower it.
It is stupid, it's blunt, and it's refreshing and rarely pushes it too far. It's probable nostalgia make it better for me though, the opening is a banger though.

The guy who wrote the story is literally just a hentai artist for a hentai magazines company, artist that just draws some...fucked shit, is the best way I could describe it.
Combined with how Japan's school and work culture is, being a group of repressed people who find exploring taboo topics their only escape from life. These authors are cripplingly lonely/traumatized/introverted, and this is their way of expressing the repressed emotions. It's a legal and valid career to have. If the guy's an actual predator, then by all means, but as far as I read, this is public and isn't any loli shit ^^^isstillweirdasfsometimes
