I would like Seinen, Isekai, or Reincarnated / regression suggestions to watch or read

Hey! I'm 27 years old and have been watching anime since I was about 4 and I've seen quiiiiite a few at this point. Still love it to death, but was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for me? I'm alright with them being being in Korean or Chinese as well, but would really enjoy some new anime to watch. I'm going through some now but I'm worried I'm going to catch up before I have made a new list of things to watch.

Any and all suggestions are very welcome!

Hi 1PrcntMilk, it seems like you might be looking for new anime to watch!

Saga of Tanya the evil

1PrcntMilk2026-01-05 17:05

I have seen some of it but forgot it! I'll add to the list

Regular-Art-7762026-01-05 17:13

Idk what u watched so ima list all my favs
They're not isekai no reincarnated but I hope u don't mind:

Scissor seven
A comedic Chinese donghua featuring a guy, Wu LiuQi, who used to be a skilled assassin (he was the strongest in his organisation) Unfortunately he got memory loss and the episodes are about him and his blue chicken friends, Dai Bo and Xiao Fei, trying to get his memories back. The mc is really goofy and funny.

Link Click
A REALLY WELL WRITTEN Chinese donghua which includes 2 boys and a girl. One of the guys is Cheng Xiaoshi, he has an ability where he can look at photos and possess the body who took the photo for 12 hours. This allows him to travel back in time. His friend, the other guy, Lu Guang, is a very calm person and has the ability to observe a photo(what is going on in it and unseen within the photo) and he helps Cheng Xiaoshi with their missions in the photo. The girl , Qiao ling, runs a shop and lives with them where she uses them to help clients with what they needed to do in the past. This donghua is so well written and very very emotional. Even the theme songs foreshadow the series 😭. You will get attached.

Last one is
The Daily life of the immortal king
I'm kinda sorry but this is another Chinese anime :/(not sorry) It's directed by the same person who was the director of Link click. Basically, the mc is a boy, Wang Ling) who wants to live like an average person but has powers that transcend gods and he is literally the most op person in anime. The episodes feature his daily life and how he uses his powers in situations. It's slice of life and it's a really good anime. Only a few people know about his power. The mc can rewrite reality, erase minds and his power is limitless.

Thank you very much! Haven't heard of link click. I did really like scissor 7 and what I've seen of daily life of the immortal king

Jellyfish_90182026-01-05 17:36

The first Isekai I watched was Kyou Kara Maoh, and after like 15 years I'm watching it again. It's fun and interesting.

There is one that is like a parody and it's extremely funny and absurd, Ixion Saga DT, I have watched it like 2 or 3 times in my life, when I want a good laugh.

1PrcntMilk2026-01-05 18:19

Will definitely check these out, thanks!

Appropriate_Gate11292026-01-05 22:26

That's kinda yaoi tho 😂

1PrcntMilk2026-01-06 17:16

Yaoi is okay, gay stuff is mad funny to me tbh lol

BeanyIsDaBean2026-01-08 07:59

You’ll love kyo kara maoh for the comedy. Watch it in dub for extra funny scenes. The voice actor for the main character added some of his own lines in, kinda like ghost stories but more mild

1PrcntMilk2026-01-08 13:35

I love when VAs take the Ghost stories route

BeanyIsDaBean2026-01-08 07:58

It’s not yaoi. It isn’t even officially listed in the BL genre. There may be gay themes but we don’t even get a kiss in the 117 eps of the main series

Appropriate_Gate11292026-01-08 08:53

I think that shonen-ai can be roughly called yaoi to make a point.

BeanyIsDaBean2026-01-08 09:37

Weeel, shonen-ai isn’t one of its listed generes either.

Its officially know as an adventure, comedy, fantasy with the sub genres of isekai and shounen

Appropriate_Gate11292026-01-08 10:03

Shonen ai flair changes depending on language of wiki page. For example, it's marked as such in Russian, Spanish and French language.

Additionally, when it were airing, it were known shonen ai series among anime club members. I think current generation just lost understanding of what shonen ai is... 😔

Jellyfish_90182026-01-08 18:12

I've been a yaoi fan for 20 years now, so I know plenty of the genre. Also I'm Spanish speaker and definitely it's not shonen ai in Spanish either.

Additionally, what matters is what's officially categorized and in Japan, not what a bunch of people think it is, (do you know the wikis are written by whoever wants to And the can put whatever they want in there? )
I'm not sure about the novels because I didn't read them, but the anime uses the BL part as a comedy resource only.

Back in my time we wished it was officially a shonen ai, but it was never the case 🤷‍♀️

Appropriate_Gate11292026-01-08 18:34

I am too a yaoi fan 20+ years. So I TOO know plenty of the genre.

Also go check wiki in Spanish language. It's shonen ai.

Novel is listed shonen ai at some sites and at some- not (as well as anime).

If logic "everyone is male and love mc" is not enough to say that this is shounen ai, then idk what is. God, I'm so tired of this conversation... lets end it.

Jellyfish_90182026-01-08 08:04

I wish it was!

Appropriate_Gate11292026-01-08 08:54

Shonen ai is still part of yaoi. 🤷‍♀️

Jellyfish_90182026-01-08 18:04

I wish it was shonen ai!

BeanyIsDaBean2026-01-08 07:57

You beat me to kyo kara maoh

BitterBet30932026-01-05 17:47

3 best reincarnation/ isekai-
1. That time i got reincarnated as a slime
2. Mushou tensei jobless reincarnation
3. Rezero

1PrcntMilk2026-01-05 18:19

I still actually never picked up Re:Zero. Worth a shot! Thank you

Skaven132026-01-05 18:25

Drifters (Seinen+Isekai).
Read the Manga after S1.

Same with Gleipnir. 😅

1PrcntMilk2026-01-06 17:18

Both are going on the list, thank you

rockyKlo2026-01-05 18:53

Log Horizon - it's a slower pace trapped in a video game isekai. It's very accurate to MMOs compared other trapped in a video game isekais like SAO.

Devil is a part timer - reverse isekai where the demon Lord and the hero end up in modern Japan, lose most of their magic and have get jobs.

Faraway Paladin - a slower paced reincarnation isekai that leans into TTRPG and Western fantasy tried over JRPG tropes. Can be a good palette cleanser from typical isekai.

Inuyasha - while not fitting the current isekai mold it's a time travel isekai from Rumiko Takahashi.

Lupin the 3rd - seinen series with entities dating to the 70s. Content ranges from PG 13 to R depending on which entry you go for. Part 1 and Part 2 are commonly available on various free streaming service and some dubs can be on the TMS entertainment YouTube channel.

1PrcntMilk2026-01-06 17:18

These are great suggestions! I've seen a few here, so I'm giving Log Horizon a try. I'd seen it around a few times but actually never knew what it was about, thank you!

Appropriate_Gate11292026-01-05 22:27

Do you want action story of slow paced is good?

1PrcntMilk2026-01-06 17:16

I'm actually a fan of both, but if I had a preference slow pace is nice

>Seinen, Isekai, or Reincarnated

1) Seinen is a demographic tag for manga and anime based on manga.

It doesn't say nothing about the content, just that the manga was published in Japan in a magazine of that demographic tag and the respective anime gets the same tag.

It isn't a genre
Animes based on light novels, games and original (no source material) don't even have demographic tags.

Seinen isn't a genre but a demographic tag that has variety of genres and age ratings.

For example these seinen manga:

Non non biyori (slice of life, cgdct, all ages)

Chi's sweet home (slice of life, kitten, for kids and family, artstyle of children manga)

Shadow's House (mistery, fantasy, moe artstyle)

Shion no Ou (Mistery, drama, suspense, strategy game, shogi, written by a former professional female shogi player, shogi is japanese chess)

Chobits (sci-fi, drama, comedy, romance, mild ecchi)

**Recommendations**

All the above except Chi's sweet home (unless you like cats and cute)

**Isekai**

Twelve kingdoms

The Vision of Escaflowne

KonoSuba

Outbreak company

Mondaiji-tachi ga Isekai kara Kuru Sou desu?

No Game No Life

**Reverse isekai**

Gabriel dropout

Hatarakou maou-sama

Kobayashi dragon-maid

**Reincarnated**

Please Save My Earth

Fantastic children

Have a nice weekend!
