I watched it last month while I was on a flight, and I’d say it’s one of Hosoda’s best works. It has a genuinely good ending (I’m usually not a fan of his endings), but this one was surprisingly satisfying. The time-travel elements were handled well, and the plot twist at the end caught me off guard. It'll soon be almost two decades since its release, but the animation is still impressive.

Love this movie. My favourite Hosoda one.

A classic

Watched it a few (consecutive) times in high school. Guess I liked it that much. Last year I found out it was based on some old novel. There seem to be an awful lot of live action movies of it.

It's a quasi-sequel to the novel, the novel lead briefly appears as an older adult

Oh, right! I read something about that. Reading the novel and then watching the anime again will definitely be a different experience.

Damn, I watched it so long ago I only remember the general plot. But it was a nice movie, one of a few Hosoda movies I completed.

I liked this a lot when I watched it but also completely forgot about it. One oddity is that the lead voice actor previously only did some live-action, and unfortunately it shows.
