Looking for romance anime recommendations

Hi, I've been wanting to start a new anime for a while, but I can't find any that catch my eye. I've been rewatching anime I saw a while ago.

I mainly watch shonen, but I'm open to other genres. If anyone has any recommendations and could tell me where I can watch them, I'd really appreciate it 🙏🏻✨

Hi __diam_b, it seems like you might be looking for new anime to watch!

The users of this subreddit came up with [a chart of anime recommendations for newcomers and veterans](https://i.redd.it/0w1v880jtq661.png) and [an awesome longer flowchart](https://i.redd.it/vdzlkodz19c71.png). Maybe you can find something there that you'll like \^.\^

justinCandy2026-01-06 02:56

Yeah, There are really too few animes that can tell a complete story within the span of one cour. But Tsuki ga Kirei made it.

ghozalee22026-01-06 03:05

true.. and they manage to do that while avoiding a lot of romance trope which are very refreshing, especially at that time. some people complaint about the pacing, but overall, is a great watch.

Try to recommend ones with action since you watch shounen before

Shakugan no Shana

Gundam Seed

Chivalry of a Failed Knight

Grandcrest war

WorldEnd Suka Suka

Pilots Love Song

Twin Star Exorcist

Ones with little action:

Planetes

Tada never falls in love
