Need some anime recommendations

I don’t watch anime at all, last night I saw A silent voice on yt and it was amazing one of my favorite movies ever I swear. I wanted to know what are other movies that are like that anime wise. Also where can I watch or search for movies recommended without having to pay for them.

Aside from free legal anime content available on youtube. You have to pay if you want to legally watch anime.
And my movie recommendation is 'I Want To Eat Your Pancreas'. Watch it if you watch something emotional like 'A Silent Voice'.

Also Watch Makoto Shinkai's big three movies-
1. Your Name. 2.Weathering With You. 3. Suzume.
The visuals are amazing and the movies are really good.

\- Studio Ghibli works (Whole bunch of them and some countries have it on Netflix now) Depending how dark or emotional you want to go pick carefully. I would start with Pom Poko or Totoro and dark is Grave of fireflies.

As to where to watch these for free. There are websites you could go if you’re willing to sail the high seas but for recommendations similar-ish to silent voice Your name which is a movie. But others include Your Lie in April and Terror in Resonance which are both short series.

One of my favorite anime movies is Millennium Actress and it is on youtube legally with ads. It is about the life of an actress.

Nozomi Entertainment has a youtube channel with a bunch of different series. Many of them are older. I particularly like Boogiepop Phantom and Revolutionary Girl Utena

If you want a less legal way to watch anime (or anything else really) i can turn you over to an app I've used for years with no possibility of malware as all ads are verified. Also I'm unfamiliar with the anime you watched i could point you to a bunch for a certain genre if you tell me the premise of the show

studio ghibli feels like anime disney 2d films but a bit more mature id recommend starting with the big 3 my neighbor totoro, spirited away, howls moving castle.

your lie in april, clannad + clannad after story, and violet evergarden are shows that are tragic romances and are AMAZING.

if u want a light hearted romance show you CANNOT beat kaguya sama love is war.

You’d probably love I Want to Eat Your Pancreas, Your Name and The Anthem of the Heart, they all have that soft, emotional, “I’m not okay but in a good way” vibe A Silent Voice has. Easiest way to watch without paying is to use legal free‑with‑ads stuff like Crunchyroll’s free tier or Tubi, then just type the movie name in their search or on YouTube and see if it’s available in your country

[RetroCrush](https://www.retrocrush.tv/home) is a free, legal anime streaming platform, but their selection is a bit limited.

I think the closest thing they have to A Silent Voice is the live-action version of Josee, the Tiger and the Fish (I have not personally watched it, but it’s about a wheelchair using girl)
