Need Romance Anime’s to watch.
Hello everyone,
I hope everyone is having a great day! I’ve never really been open about watching anime so this is a first. I’m looking for recent/new romance anime to watch. I dislike older art styles, and not huge into a romance being mainly a comedy. I’m huge into it though and have watched these. I’ll also recommend the best ones as well for new romance anime ppl:
Rent a girlfriend
Toradora - ( Top Tier )
More than a married couple but not lovers - ( Favorite )
My dress up darling ( Top Tier )
My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU
The Quintessential Quintuplets - ( Top Tier )
Masamune-kun's Revenge
Domestic Girlfriend
Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions!: Heart Throb
A Couple of Cuckoos
Im Getting Married to a Girl I Hate in My Class
Higehiro: After Being Rejected, I Shaved and Took in a High School Runaway - ( Top Tier )
Horimiya
Re-zero
My girlfriend is a Sho-\*\*\*\*\*
My Youth Romantic Comedy Is Wrong, As I Expected
Darling in the Franxx
I’ve watched more but those are probably half of them. Been an avid watcher since probably around 5 years ago, and it seems to just get harder to find something new. I’d honestly be surprised if I still can find hidden gems. I hope this helps new romance watchers as well. Definitely check out Top Tier and my Favorite.

And one tall girl short boy anime(it's old one) these are ones that come to my mind when I think about romance anime
Taishou Otome Otogibanashi - A Taishou-era (early 1900s) story following a wealthy-but-depressed guy and his arranged wife, a cheerful and bubbly girl.
Teasing Master Takagi-san - It's not primarily a romance, but it's a very sweet and wholesome show and the development of their feelings feels very natural and sincere.
Hi-Score Girl - This is my favorite romance anime ever, but it's hard to recommend because the visuals are very unconventional. But if you can somehow get through how it looks, I can guarantee that the story is something special.
I'll drop a few more that I enjoyed and see if there's any that you find interesting:
- Makeine: Too Many Losing Heroines
- My Senpai is Annoying
- Your Lie in April
- After the Rain
And if you want to consider movies, there's:
- A Silent Voice
- Your Name
- Weathering With You
- Josee, the Tiger and the Fish
- The Tunnel to Summer, the Exit of Goodbyes
Snow White with the Red Hair
Snow white has a girl MC, just not my taste
But thanks for the REC!
Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl SenpaiThe Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity
Blue Box
-WorldEnd: What Do You Do at the End of the World? Are You Busy? Will You Save Us?
- Ef: A tale of melodies
- Shakugan no shana
- Shuffle
- My Love Story
- Btooom!
- Brynhildr in the darkness
- Chivalry of a Failed Knight
- Asterisk War
- Accel World
-Yamada Kun and the Seven Witches
I have a lot more that are romance mixed with something. Also, there are more options if you don't mind watching 90s or early 2000s anime.
Personally I consider Maison Ikkoku the best romance ever, but you said you don't like older art styles.
Actually, it looks like you're missing shoujo series from your list. That's weird. Have you only watched shounen and seinen romance? If you're looking for romance, consider checking out shoujo romance. For a more recent romance show, I recommend the first season of *Kimi ni Todoke*, which aired from 2009-2010. I found the second season to be somewhat disappointing and I have not yet seen the third season, which came out in 2024. All I can say is that I loved the first season and recommend that.
I also strongly recommend *Kodomo no Omocha*, or *Kodocha* for short! It aired from 1996-1998 and has 102 episodes, so you get to spend plenty of time with its lovable cast! There is really nothing bad I can think of to say about it. *Kodocha* is just great. Its protagonist, Sana, lives rent-free in my head.
