This has been one of the best mangas of the recent years along with Akane Banashi, Kagurabachi, Ichi the Witch, Daemons of the Shadow Realm. It is the closest I have seen a manga to being similar to Naoki Urasawa's style which wasn't made by him. I hope the anime lets this series have the success it deserves.

The opening looks good. When is the first episode coming out? I am interested in this show. The concept seems pretty unique.

First episode will be broadcasted in less than an hour (12:00 AM Japan Time).

Is it streaming on crunchy?
Time_Fracture2026-01-06 16:08
No. [Amazon Prime exclusive](https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2026-01-01/amazon-prime-video-to-stream-the-darwin-incident-anime-in-n-america/.232665). I assume it is a worldwide release since there multiple language available.

I feel like im in the minority in the sense that i think this op is very much not good lol. Specifically in terms of how it looks (song aint bad i would say). Directing/editing wise it feels so random, and it also seems like the animation gets more and more stiff the more the actual song goes on and actually gets more upbeat. Kinda sad to see considering the pvs for this looked quite nice.

I definitely think it does some stuff quite strongly but also a lot of its very stiff, and strange, and doesn't feel like it makes a ton of sense. Like the end when it alternates repeatedly sliding in two images colored specific colors, which change each time, comign from different angles, and the images are segmented as they slide in. One of the images will then be shown in full color before it starts alternating the remaining image and a new one, then show the second one in full color, replace it with another, etc, it's really confusing and hard to process, and it doesn't seem like it means anything stylistically, they just kinda did it. It's especially bad for the later set which are two different images of a big blonde middle age white dude with short hair and a slightly smaller (in-frame) middle age black dude with buzz cut. These are either two different pairs of people, or the second is the same guys but older, but you'd have to stop the video to even see that.
Also more subjectively, at 0:54 I really don't think Lucy and Charlie need to cross eachother while doing a cartwheel, fly close to the camera to cross again, spin vertically to face eachother, then do ANOTHER vertical spin while crossing to face eachother yet again while finishing the cartwheel, while the camera pulls out and they fly to the opposite side of the screen. Maybe the motion's meant to be reminiscent of a double helix or something but there's so much motion in that shot that it feels goofy.

Yeah, described it perfectly. Song's nice but the animation is really choppy and fast cuts with random movement makes it so much worse. Plus the random effects you described. Very weird.
