I went into this completely blind. This movie just popped in my Netflix recommendation today and I decided to give it a try (I didn't even knew the Manga was made by the Mangaka of Orb, that I have yet to watch, though I've heard plenty good about it)

One of the better Anime movies I've watched till now. Incredible Art, very good soundtracks and Outstanding Voice Acting and Animation. The story is very good though I did feel the Philosophical ramblings were a bit much (that I think cannot be helped since it's only like 1 hour 40 mins).

I also felt in some scenes that the animation was too much? Idk how to phrase this but in some scenes which did not require many movements or where still characters could've worked as well, had some animation. It felt somewhat weird (maybe I generally do not see stuff like that in weekly shows). Personally, this is some of the best rotoscoping I've seen. The racing animations were so good and that rain scene with Togashi was just next level.

The story was so good even though it is never specified [Spoiler]>!who won in the end!<. I read about the author and he took like 2 years of Philosophy in university and it clearly shows in this. The only minor gripe I probably had was Komiya's entire character devleopment happened in last 10 fking secs of the movie (which probably aligns with the Togashi's 10 sec remark about 100 m sprint).

Togashi still felt relatable af (I was never a smart or the best kid growing up). That feeling of stagnation, the feeling you get when you do not get success for a long time and then completely becoming somewhat mediocre. That scene where he was laughing it off when he barely made his contract, where his junior said he had changed compared to before, that fuking agent who was just laughing at his face and when Kaido said when did he turn into a wimp. That fake smile was too real.

Overall, I felt the same passion and feeling when I saw Look Back. The only major regret I probably have is that, I couldn't watch this in theaters (I do not even think this was released in my country)

I never really write reviews(I still do not know how to write one LMAO) but I really wanted to write on this. So thank you for attending my Ted Talk.

PS - I think I should give Orb a try.
