Welcome to the I My Me! Strawberry Eggs 25th anniversary rewatch!
^Just ^ignore ^the ^25th ^anniversary ^is ^in ^July…
Crossdressing and comedy. It has a long, storied history.
Nowadays, crossdressing in comedy is considered insensitive with accusations of it being transphobic and borderline homophobic. And while there is probably some truth to that, the reality is a lot of times it’s played with sincerity.
Some Like It Hot and Tootsie are two of the greatest comedies of all time. Mrs. Doubtfire is considered iconic and a defining part of Robin Williams legacy. All three movies play the crossdressing up for laughs but there’s quite sincerity about it to where the joke isn’t just “Lol, it’s a guy dressed as a woman”. And I think that sincerity applies to I My Me! Strawberry Eggs.
Strawberry Eggs, which is how I’ll be referring to it going forward, is very much a product of its time. It has that wacky slapstick type of humor common in anime at the time, like with shows such as Ranma and Love Hina. It also has a lot of heart that I think makes it a show worth revisiting.
This is easily the most obscure show I’ve ever hosted. I hope with this rewatch I can introduce people to this series that have never seen it before so they can become fans of it just like me. It’s been over two years since I last saw the show, so will my memory hold up or will it prove to be an outdated relic best forgotten to time? Let’s find out!
With that out of the way, let’s begin.
I’m watching the dub, by the way.
I'm a whore for talking to people.
A news reporter on TV
Reports of students fighting each other.
"My class is doing just fine."
Bet
Hibiki going bra shopping
Hey, it's Fuko, Fujio, and Seiko
Hibiki gonna buy a bra for the grand opening of the pool.
Miho isn't here because she's hanging out with her model boyfriend.
Who knew Kōji could surf?
Oh, boy. The pool opening and the proximity of gym class has him excited. Yay.
Hibiki showing Lulu her swimsuit.
I like that Lulu has gotten close to the dog.
Hibiki worrying he's gotten too much like a girl.
Even bought a Wonderbra
Is he turning into a woman?
I mean, he kinda already is, no?
Kōji greeting Tofu
Gonna meet him you know where, at Midnight.
I have such conflicted feelings about these two.
Miho talking to her friends
She tells her friends they need to go on dates with boys.
Then Miho dropped the bombshell that she kissed her boyfriend.
Fujio trying to get close to Akira, to no avail.
Poor Fujio :c
Now the boys are arguing
Hibiki thankfully breaks it up before it can escalate further.
Things seem intense
Now Fujio, Seiko, and Miho are at each other's throats.
And this causes others to yell at each other.
Home etc teacher is cute
Hibiki breaks it up by getting on the teacher's desk.
Now Hibiki interrogating everyone to see what happened.
This reminds me of Seele and Nerv
What kind of accent does this guy have? XD
Akira says one of his friends badmouth surfing.
Fuko meeting up with Hibiki now
She wasn't going to be interrogated, but she insists upon it.
Hibiki feels negative emotions are contagious. As is joyful emotions, which is why you should always keep a smile on your face.
Fuko seems to agree
Hibiki back at the apartment
Hibiki thinks there's something deeper than surfing and dating troubling his students.
I like Lulu casually suggesting he use her gun.
Kōji and Tofu on the beach
They are tunnel digging
Fortunately, Lulu has a magnet
Akira looking upset
What else is new?
Hibiki gonna report everyone to the school field.
But even at the school field, the students seem fed up.
Fujio telling Hibiki she always feels like Miho is ahead of her.
Won't tell her about it because of her pride.
Hibiki with one of the boys
He admits this is his fault, but won't admit it to others because he has some pride.
Hibiki in bed saying all his students are struggling trying to find their way.
"I guess that's what it means to be young."
Kōji and Tofu still tunneling
Lulu listening in on them
And the magnet causes their compass to change directions.
Hibiki asking vice principal to have the men and women swim together.
Vice principal is initially reluctant, but agrees because she sees it as her opportunity to expose Hibiki.
Hibiki declaring battle games
The boys are fighting the boys and the girls are fighting the girls.
As this is happening, vice principal tries to expose Hibiki but she falls in the water.
Vice principal scatters away
Hey, Fuko won
Good for her
The boys are still fighting
One of the boys drowns but Akira saves him.
The reason why for the argument about surfing is because one of them couldn't swim.
Thing is, they all have their phobias.
All the girls making up now
Miho even admits she didn't kiss her boyfriend. She had a fight with them.
She felt left out of everything
Fuko says she wishes she had something she felt guilty about.
I would say the crush on your teach, Fuko.
Now the girls ask Hibiki what secret does she have.
And she says she loves bras
The girls then say even men like it, which causes Hibiki to realize she likes bras because she's a normal man.
Strawberry Eggs is pro gooner
Speak of a couple gooners...
And of course, they end up where Lulu is bathing.
Thankfully, she has a swimsuit on lol
Overall, this was a good episode. Everyone fighting made for good drama, and I like the point of emphasis of everyone being afraid of something. It tied nicely into the other plot point of Hibiki being ashamed of liking bras. Besides that, we continue the wacky hijinks of Kōji and Tofu which I honestly didn't mind here. It was only like 2 minutes and it was fun guessing how Lulu was going to sabotage them this time around.
I'd probably say this was middle of the road for me. It was an episode that was better once you saw the big picture and what the show was aiming for. The show has done a really good job making their key characters well defined and identifiable. And even though I feel some of the boy characters are a bit underbaked, Akira is almost like their representative to where it almost doesn't matter how you characterize the rest of them. Akira is the only one you should be mindful of.
Shows that communication is key
>What are your thoughts on us seeing more of the male students and what they're like?
That's cool
>What are your thoughts on a big theme with this show which is Hibiki gives genuine advice that is made disingenuous because he can't really apply it to himself?
Good use of dramatic irony. Also shows why this may be a bad idea.
I get the point of what they were going for, but still felt pretty hard to relate. I think the previous episode did a much better job about dealing with insecurities, this one just felt silly to me.

Weakest episode in my opinion. Giving so many characters so many silly problems just made it too silly to me. And while I agree with you about Akira, I don't particularly care for him. We know he's into Fuko, Fujio likes him, and he's holding some sort of grudge against the principal. Besides that though, to me he just comes across as a little shit.
Yeah, I would agree. I feel like the last episode had more of a focus with it being about insecurity of your body. This didn't really have that connective tissue the last one had. It also was a bit of a retread since it's also about insecurities.
>Weakest episode in my opinion. Giving so many characters so many silly problems just made it too silly to me.
It should be noted that this is the second of 5 episodes not written by head writer Yasuko Kobayashi. That may also be why it felt kinda lackluster to you.
>And while I agree with you about Akira, I don't particularly care for him. We know he's into Fuko, Fujio likes him, and he's holding some sort of grudge against the principal. Besides that though, to me he just comes across as a little shit.
I think Akira is interesting from the perspective of we don't really know what his end goal is. Like, is the show setting him up to be for Fuko what Hibiki currently is where he helps her out with her troubles? Where does Fujio factor into things.
He did save one of his friends from drowning, so it seems like he does value his friends and has a good head on his shoulders.
Yeah, it felt like a weaker version of last episode, felt unnecessary, I'd rather have a pure comedy episode if they couldn't find a different problem.
>It should be noted that this is the second of 5 episodes not written by head writer Yasuko Kobayashi. That may also be why it felt kinda lackluster to you.
Interesting, which one was the first? Episode 2?
>I think Akira is interesting from the perspective of we don't really know what his end goal is. Like, is the show setting him up to be for Fuko what Hibiki currently is where he helps her out with her troubles? Where does Fujio factor into things.
They might be setting him up for something, but he's coming off as an unlikeable character to me, and a character crosses that threshold, it's very hard to come back from it. For some reason, I can really hold a grudge against Anime characters lol.
>He did save one of his friends from drowning, so it seems like he does value his friends and has a good head on his shoulders.
Wasn't a fan of that scene either. Maybe it's because I dislike Akira that I'm being overly critical, but it felt very forced just to make him save the day.
I do like we pay off them cleaning the pool from episode 3.
>Interesting, which one was the first? Episode 2?
Episode 3, actually
>They might be setting him up for something, but he's coming off as an unlikeable character to me, and a character crosses that threshold, it's very hard to come back from it. For some reason, I can really hold a grudge against Anime characters lol.
I don't hate Akira, it's just I don't really know what to make of him.
I guess you don't like how he treats Fujio? Lol
>Wasn't a fan of that scene either. Maybe it's because I dislike Akira that I'm being overly critical, but it felt very forced just to make him save the day.
I mean, the argument involved him so I thought it was a good way to resolve the conflict. Maybe a tad forced drama, but it wasn't long enough to overstay its welcome.
It kinda reminded me of Toradora episodes 7 and 8.
Could've just fine the classic pool episode instead.
>Episode 3, actually
Huh. Either way, I mostly enjoyed all episodes kinds equally except for this one.
>I don't hate Akira, it's just I don't really know what to make of him.
Maybe he'll end up doing something good. We'll soon find out.
>I guess you don't like how he treats Fujio? Lol
I do not. But it's just his attitude in general.
>I mean, the argument involved him so I thought it was a good way to resolve the conflict. Maybe a tad forced drama, but it wasn't long enough to overstay its welcome.
Meh!
>It kinda reminded me of Toradora episodes 7 and 8.
I do remember there being a pool episode, but can't really think of any details :/
You could've had everyone knows how to swim except Fuko and Hibiki has to teach her.
>Huh. Either way, I mostly enjoyed all episodes kinds equally except for this one.
I liked this episode more than the last one and I think it's because I felt like this was a better use of the characters. The last one made me feel somewhat sympathetic towards the principal’s hate of men.
>Maybe he'll end up doing something good. We'll soon find out.
I'd say saving someone from drowning is doing good.
>I do not. But it's just his attitude in general.
He has this emo My Chemical Romance vibe about him. He's very brooding.
>Meh!
I see I'm not winning you over :P
>I do remember there being a pool episode, but can't really think of any details :/
[Toradora] >!Both Taiga and Ryuuji almost drown in each respective episode.!<
And then we could have a scene where she gets overconfident and Akira tries to save her.
>I liked this episode more than the last one and I think it's because I felt like this was a better use of the characters. The last one made me feel somewhat sympathetic towards the principal’s hate of men.
Really? I think the last episode was great touching on people's insecurities, no matter how silly they might sound. I do agree that it did give the principal a reason to hate men, though. But oh well, to each their own!
>I'd say saving someone from drowning is doing good.
He saved another annoying kid. I'm not gonna count that.
>He has this emo My Chemical Romance vibe about him. He's very brooding.
Maybe that's part of it lol.
>I see I'm not winning you over :P
No you are not.
>[Toradora] >!Both Taiga and Ryuuji almost drown in each respective episode.!<
First time I'm hearing about this. My mind truly works in mysterious ways!
That honestly sounds like a better episode lol
>Really? I think the last episode was great touching on people's insecurities, no matter how silly they might sound. I do agree that it did give the principal a reason to hate men, though. But oh well, to each their own!
So, I liked the last episode's message more than this one. This episode leaves less of an impression. But this episode didn't annoy me as much as parts of the last one. I like how it used Fujio and Miho and I thought Hibiki solving the issue but being less involved was a nice change of pace. He set things in motion, but it was really Akira who resolved things.
I liked better where things ended up in episode 5, and I feel the idea of physical exams was an interesting one, but I feel the last episode was more important than it was interesting. This episode to me played more into various characters like Fujio becoming increasingly frustrated to Hibiki giving advice he can't listen to himself. This episode had more of a focus on the side characters and I think I like them more than you.
Mind you, I think both episode 5 and episode 6 are probably not as good as episodes 1, 3, and 4. The last two episodes are flawed in their own ways.
>He saved another annoying kid. I'm not gonna count that.
Damn, strict standards.
Had he actually let him die, I would've hold it against him.
>Maybe that's part of it lol.
Fair enough. I don't mind characters like that. If anything, it adds a sense of tension.
>No you are not.
Well, I'm trying.
I do think it's interesting how this was less a boys Vs girls issue and more boys vs boys and girls vs girls.
>First time I'm hearing about this. My mind truly works in mysterious ways!
That's why I'm here, to remind you of stuff :P
Said it on my last reply, I'm a great writer.
>So, I liked the last episode's message more than this one. This episode leaves less of an impression. But this episode didn't annoy me as much as parts of the last one. Another reason not to like it! Damn Akira.
>I liked better where things ended up in episode 5, and I feel the idea of physical exams was an interesting one, but I feel the last episode was more important than it was interesting. Maybe it's because I'm not that big of a fan of said side characters. I like Hibiki, Fuko, Granny, and even find the perverts funny (in very small doses), but I can't say I care for the other kids too much. Maybe Fujio a little.
>Damn, strict standards.
I'm a bit of a psychopath.
>Had he actually let him die, I would've hold it against him.
Let boys be boys!
>I do think it's interesting how this was less a boys Vs girls issue and more boys vs boys and girls vs girls.
That much did make it more interesting, I agree. Except Akira making Fujio sad.
>That's why I'm here, to remind you of stuff :P
You're gonna have to watch way more stuff my dude!
Gonna be a bit too busy to really answer questions these next few days but I'll try to get to them when I can.
The show doesn’t really draw attention to it, but Hibiki really does seem comfortable as a woman. Like it’s interesting Hibiki chose to dress up in order to go clothes shopping when technically he didn’t really have to.
Okay so I just realized, Mori does just carry a mirror around with him everywhere. Even in bed. What’s up with that?
Where did this beach come from? Were we always by the ocean?
Okay this episode actually seems like it is going to try and explore Hibiki’s gender identity a bit.
This redheaded lady is one of the few other teachers besides Hibiki we’ve seen anything significant from.
Until we actually see Miho’s boyfriend I refuse to believe he’s real.
I do not understand why this one random male student is given an Italian accent in the dub. I’ve been switching back and forth between sub and dub throughout this rewatch because I’ve been curious about how this anime was translated and there’s nothing in the sub that indicates he’s meant to have an accent. But maybe there’s something I’m missing.
Oh. Great. Mori and the old guy have another *wacky scheme*.
I do like that this episode is about Hibiki trying to resolve conflict between her students.
I am seriously starting to question Hibiki’s teaching methods though. Her whole plan to let them fight during the pool game seems bad. Even though it is a game someone could get hurt.
The vice principal really should know better than to run by the pool.
Okay apparently Miho’s boyfriend is allegedly real and she had a fight with him. That’s surprising.
Lulu honestly pulls off that swimsuit pretty well.
**Questions of the Day:**
**What are your thoughts on this episode being about phobias and secrets?**
Makes for a good theme.
**What are your thoughts on us seeing more of the male students and what they're like?**
I'll be real, I still don't remember most of them.
**What are your thoughts on a big theme with this show which is Hibiki gives genuine advice that is made disingenuous because he can't really apply it to himself?**
I wonder if the show will address that more.
Yeah, I did notice it before, but it wasn't until today that I really thought about it. Dude's a bit of a weirdo.
Not that I would know...
Sounds good
>The show doesn’t really draw attention to it, but Hibiki really does seem comfortable as a woman. Like it’s interesting Hibiki chose to dress up in order to go clothes shopping when technically he didn’t really have to.
I kinda like that, honestly. It's like a subtle pro LGBT message.
>Okay so I just realized, Mori does just carry a mirror around with him everywhere. Even in bed. What’s up with that?
I find it more weird you call him Mori, honestly lol
>Where did this beach come from? Were we always by the ocean?
I suppose
>Okay this episode actually seems like it is going to try and explore Hibiki’s gender identity a bit.
This was honestly probably the best part of the episode.
>This redheaded lady is one of the few other teachers besides Hibiki we’ve seen anything significant from.
I do like we get brief glimpse of what the rest of the staff is like.
>Until we actually see Miho’s boyfriend I refuse to believe he’s real.
Same here
>I do not understand why this one random male student is given an Italian accent in the dub. I’ve been switching back and forth between sub and dub throughout this rewatch because I’ve been curious about how this anime was translated and there’s nothing in the sub that indicates he’s meant to have an accent. But maybe there’s something I’m missing.
Okay, this threw me off as well. It's very clearly a white guy doing a fake Italian accent. I almost feel like it's an inside joke we're not getting.
It feels like something the dub of Ghost Stories would do. It's hilariously out of place.
>Oh. Great. Mori and the old guy have another *wacky scheme*.
Thankfully, they are keeping them in small doses. They only have like 4 scenes all told.
>I do like that this episode is about Hibiki trying to resolve conflict between her students.
Every episode is Hibiki trying to resolve conflicts. But I do like that Hibiki is interacting with the male students more.
>I am seriously starting to question Hibiki’s teaching methods though. Her whole plan to let them fight during the pool game seems bad. Even though it is a game someone could get hurt.
I feel like Hibiki often thinks with his heart and not his head. He's more so lucky none of his plans have backfired.
>The vice principal really should know better than to run by the pool.
No kidding.
Trying to spill so much tea she slipped on it.
>Okay apparently Miho’s boyfriend is allegedly real and she had a fight with him. That’s surprising.
I still think she's making it up, honestly
>Lulu honestly pulls off that swimsuit pretty well.
To a shocking degree, I feel like. I'm surprised the joke was less "Ew, old woman in a swimsuit" and more "Our plan was thwarted, whomp whomp".
>**Questions of the Day:**
>**What are your thoughts on this episode being about phobias and secrets?**
>Makes for a good theme.
I thought so. Even if the last episode was kinda similar.
>**What are your thoughts on us seeing more of the male students and what they're like?**
>I'll be real, I still don't remember most of them.
Me too. But at least we're slowly getting familiar with them.
>**What are your thoughts on a big theme with this show which is Hibiki gives genuine advice that is made disingenuous because he can't really apply it to himself?**
>I wonder if the show will address that more.
I imagine so. It's been a presence since the very beginning.
I think he was probably speaking with a specific dialect of Japanese in the original. Why they chose to translate that as Italian is beyond me.
The topic of how dubs translate accents is interesting to me. The most common is seeing the Kansai dialect translated as a US Southern accent. But there are other examples I've seen like a character from Hokkaido being given a Canadian accent in a dub.
I can't help but laugh at it due to how bad it is.
>The topic of how dubs translate accents is interesting to me. The most common is seeing the Kansai dialect translated as a US Southern accent. But there are other examples I've seen like a character from Hokkaido being given a Canadian accent in a dub.
This is particularly egregious because it sounds so phony.
[It reminds me of this.](https://youtu.be/EtzlKJ1dObU?si=PU__WhGdxb15SrOr)
Thoughts on Hibiki going bra shopping?
Thoughts on the pool opening up soon?
Thoughts on Kōji liking to surf?
What are your thoughts on Hibiki worrying he's becoming too much like a woman?
Thoughts on Miho saying she kissed her boyfriend?
Thoughts on everyone arguing with each other?
Thoughts on Hibiki feeling that emotions can be contagious?
Thoughts on Fujio resenting Miho because she feels like she's always ahead of her?
What are your thoughts on Hibiki pitching an idea of the boys and the girls settle their issues through something called battle games?
Thoughts on the vice principal trying to expose Hibiki but failing?
What are your thoughts on one of the male students drowning but Akira saving him?
What are your thoughts on it being revealed that the reason the boys were fighting was because they were arguing about surfing and it was to mask one of the boys being unable to surf?
What are your thoughts on Miho revealing she didn't kiss her boyfriend but instead got in a fight with him?
What are your thoughts on Hibiki realizing he likes bras because he's a guy and that's something normal guys like?
Thoughts on Kōji and Tofu digging a tunnel but Lulu using a magnet to change their direction to where Lulu is bathing?
Foreshadowing
> Thoughts on Hibiki going bra shopping?
Surprised they haven't done that before now
> Thoughts on Kōji liking to surf?
Surfing sounds fun but I'd never do it
> What are your thoughts on Hibiki worrying he's becoming too much like a woman?
He needs to be more comfortable with his feminine side
> Thoughts on Miho saying she kissed her boyfriend?
I still don't believe she has a supermodel boyfriend
> Thoughts on Hibiki feeling that emotions can be contagious?
She's right
> Thoughts on Fujio resenting Miho because she feels like she's always ahead of her?
Interesting conflict
> What are your thoughts on Hibiki pitching an idea of the boys and the girls settle their issues through something called battle games?
I'm still skeptical of Hibiki’s teaching methods
> Thoughts on the vice principal trying to expose Hibiki but failing?
She should know better than to run by the pool
>What are your thoughts on one of the male students drowning but Akira saving him?
Akira is the only boy I consistently remember
> What are your thoughts on it being revealed that the reason the boys were fighting was because they were arguing about surfing and it was to mask one of the boys being unable to surf?
Seems like there were better ways to go about this
> What are your thoughts on Miho revealing she didn't kiss her boyfriend but instead got in a fight with him?
Even now I'm still not sure he's real
> What are your thoughts on Hibiki realizing he likes bras because he's a guy and that's something normal guys like?
Good for Hibiki I suppose
> Thoughts on Kōji and Tofu digging a tunnel but Lulu using a magnet to change their direction to where Lulu is bathing?
I still don't care for their subplot
Very much so
>Surprised they haven't done that before now
Well, here we are
>Surfing sounds fun but I'd never do it
I can't imagine surfing on top of glass
>He needs to be more comfortable with his feminine side
I agree
>I still don't believe she has a supermodel boyfriend
Me too
>She's right
Like a fever
>Interesting conflict
Yeah, I like this
>I'm still skeptical of Hibiki’s teaching methods
Hey, if it works...
>She should know better than to run by the pool
No kidding
>Akira is the only boy I consistently remember
Same here
>Seems like there were better ways to go about this
Ya think?
>Even now I'm still not sure he's real
Yeah, me neither
>Good for Hibiki I suppose
He's slowly learning to accept himself
>I still don't care for their subplot
It was only what, two minutes?
>What are your thoughts on this episode being about phobias and secrets?
I'm used to seeing this stuff in anime but... It all sounds pretty silly to me tbh.
>What are your thoughts on us seeing more of the male students and what they're like?
Meh, it was mostly dumb arguments.
>What are your thoughts on a big theme with this show which is Hibiki gives genuine advice that is made disingenuous because he can't really apply it to himself?
I honestly find it pretty funny, especially the padding.
On to the episode!
Why is Hibiki buying a swimsuit?
I noticed before, especially in episode 1 since he used it as his solar flare, but... Why is the salaryman carrying a mirror everywhere he goes...?
Huh... He's enjoying the crossdressing life. Is he gonna become trans?
Poor Fujio, pretty much ignored by Akira :(
And now the boys are fighting, I wonder what that was about.
Great, now they started a full out war.
The interrogation was pointless. And Hibiki forgot all about Fuko, which made her sad not to be included.
Granny's right, he should take the gun and make the dumb kids confess. Meanwhile she's thwarting the perverts' plan once again.
Look at all those dumb kids mad at each other for no reason.
Joint swimming lesson, that's gonna go well. Hope Hibiki isn't planning on swimming.
Why is he wearing a swimsuit? HOW IS HE HIDING HIS DICK?!
Another war! Kids are going nuts!
Aaand the vice principal failed epically. What was she expecting though...? To literally expose him in front of all the kids?!
I've seen this exact thing happening several times in other anime... I don't remember anything like this ever happening to me or my friends in real life. Do kids ever really get mad at each other for shit like this? Meanwhile Fuko doesn't have a care in the world lol.
OH GOD, MY EYES! WHY?!
I think this was the weakest episode so far. Already mentioned before, but I found it pretty hard to relate with everyone's problems, the one I could relate the most was probably Fuko. She does have problems, but they're genuine problems/concerns, not some dumb worries the other kids had. Yes including the small breasts, I'd still consider that a valid concern.
Clearly you're not a fan of the game show I've Got a Secret :P
>Meh, it was mostly dumb arguments.
Isn't most of life?
>I honestly find it pretty funny, especially the padding.
It's almost like projection in a sense
>On to the episode!
[](#kaguyasmug)
>Why is Hibiki buying a swimsuit?
Why not?
>I noticed before, especially in episode 1 since he used it as his solar flare, but... Why is the salaryman carrying a mirror everywhere he goes...?
Just because
>Huh... He's enjoying the crossdressing life. Is he gonna become trans?
Mayhaps
>Poor Fujio, pretty much ignored by Akira :(
You see to hate it
>And now the boys are fighting, I wonder what that was about.
A bunch of nonsense.
Actually, if you can't do something, you should just tell them outright. But ehat do I know?
>Great, now they started a full out war.
What's with high school anime teenagers and a lack of communication?
>The interrogation was pointless. And Hibiki forgot all about Fuko, which made her sad not to be included.
It's like Fuko causing trouble doesn't even come to his mind.
>Granny's right, he should take the gun and make the dumb kids confess. Meanwhile she's thwarting the perverts' plan once again.
Wouldn't have it any other way
>Look at all those dumb kids mad at each other for no reason.
Well, there's a reason, but they aren't telling anyone. It's like Ami in Toradora kinda.
>Joint swimming lesson, that's gonna go well. Hope Hibiki isn't planning on swimming.
Whelp...
>Why is he wearing a swimsuit? HOW IS HE HIDING HIS DICK?!
He has a cup, obviously :P
>Another war! Kids are going nuts!
That they are
>Aaand the vice principal failed epically. What was she expecting though...? To literally expose him in front of all the kids?!
Or at least maybe take the voice modifier off.
>I've seen this exact thing happening several times in other anime... I don't remember anything like this ever happening to me or my friends in real life. Do kids ever really get mad at each other for shit like this? Meanwhile Fuko doesn't have a care in the world lol.
I think kids sometimes don't want to say what's bothering them so they use their frustrations through other means. It's like bringing your personal problems to work with you and having that effect your behavior.
>OH GOD, MY EYES! WHY?!
[](#scaredmio)
>I think this was the weakest episode so far. Already mentioned before, but I found it pretty hard to relate with everyone's problems, the one I could relate the most was probably Fuko. She does have problems, but they're genuine problems/concerns, not some dumb worries the other kids had. Yes including the small breasts, I'd still consider that a valid concern.
I thought the stuff between Fujio and Miho was interesting where Fujio is not making any progress with Akira and she's like wanting a relationship with him that Miho has with her boyfriend. That was some good characterization.
I'm still not sure whether Miho actually has a boyfriend or not.
I'm not really familiar with American game shows unless they're massively mainstream :(
>Isn't most of life?
Yeah, but screw those little shits!
>Why not?
I dunno, maybe because he has a penis! Or maybe I'm just wrongly assuming that...
>Just because
At this point I kinda hope they never explain it lol
>You see to hate it
Yup, kid's an asshole.
>A bunch of nonsense.
The problem with this episode.
>Actually, if you can't do something, you should just tell them outright. But ehat do I know?
You're right. Dumb kids.
>What's with high school anime teenagers and a lack of communication?
Dunno, can't relate. Can't really say my friends and I ever had silly arguments like this back in middle/high school.
>It's like Fuko causing trouble doesn't even come to his mind.
Yup, I thought it was a well done scene because of that.
>Well, there's a reason, but they aren't telling anyone. It's like Ami in Toradora kinda.
Yeah... I totally know what you're talking about!
>He has a cup, obviously :P
Not entirely sure how a cup could help in they situation... It would still have a protrusion!
>Or at least maybe take the voice modifier off.
I don't think that was her plan, was it?
>I think kids sometimes don't want to say what's bothering them so they use their frustrations through other means. It's like bringing your personal problems to work with you and having that effect your behavior.
I do get it, but this was very overdone. Obviously it was also done for comedic effect, seeing as it affecting everyone in class except Fuko at the exact same time, but still!
>I thought the stuff between Fujio and Miho was interesting where Fujio is not making any progress with Akira and she's like wanting a relationship with him that Miho has with her boyfriend. That was some good characterization.
I didn't mind some individual problems, it's just how it all blended together.
>I'm still not sure whether Miho actually has a boyfriend or not.
She'll date Fujio instead!
It was mainstream in the 1950s [](#hikariactually)
>Yeah, but screw those little shits!
Eh, they're just typical kids
>I dunno, maybe because he has a penis! Or maybe I'm just wrongly assuming that...
Vice principal is the one acting like a dick
>At this point I kinda hope they never explain it lol
Same here
>Yup, kid's an asshole.
Kids often are
>The problem with this episode.
I mean, I don't mind childless squabbles. But to what you're saying, it is a tad redundant coming off the students having the secret of what their bust size is.
It also doesn't help that the last couple episodes were pretty high quality, even though parts of the last one annoyed me.
>You're right. Dumb kids.
Kids will be kids
>Dunno, can't relate. Can't really say my friends and I ever had silly arguments like this back in middle/high school.
I have, but not often because I mostly stayed by myself.
>Yup, I thought it was a well done scene because of that.
He's indirectly underestimating her
>Yeah... I totally know what you're talking about!
Lol
I think the reason why this episode doesn't annoy me like it does you is because I'm used to miscommunication in anime. It happens a lot in high school shows.
>Not entirely sure how a cup could help in they situation... It would still have a protrusion!
Of what, the penis?
The cup would cover the entire thing.
>I don't think that was her plan, was it?
I don't think she thought that far ahead what her plan was.
>I do get it, but this was very overdone. Obviously it was also done for comedic effect, seeing as it affecting everyone in class except Fuko at the exact same time, but still!
I dunno, I think the problem is less the miscommunication and more this episode lacked an identity other than Hibiki liking wearing bras.
>I didn't mind some individual problems, it's just how it all blended together.
Parts of this episode was definitely solid, we can at least agree.
>She'll date Fujio instead!
I'd be fine with that lol
Wasn't really into TV back then. In fact, my parents may not have yet been born!
>Eh, they're just typical kids
Exactly. Little shits.
>Vice principal is the one acting like a dick
Sure, but at least she doesn't have one! Wait a moment... Why is she suspecting Hibiki of being a man in the first place? Sure, she heard a male voice in the bathroom and then saw him, but he looks like a woman, even in a swimsuit and usually sounds like a woman... Is she also a man?
>I mean, I don't mind childless squabbles. But to what you're saying, it is a tad redundant coming off the students having the secret of what their bust size is.
>It also doesn't help that the last couple episodes were pretty high quality, even though parts of the last one annoyed me.
Yeah, could be because I got used to the higher quality writing of previous episodes.
>I have, but not often because I mostly stayed by myself.
Damn kids!
>He's indirectly underestimating her
Not sure it's a bad thing in this case. I mean, it could be bad for him, because she could still turn out to be a menace.
>I think the reason why this episode doesn't annoy me like it does you is because I'm used to miscommunication in anime. It happens a lot in high school shows.
Yeah, although I do also watch high school anime, it's not exactly something I watch super often. I mostly stick to the higher rated ones.
>Of what, the penis?
>The cup would cover the entire thing.
Right, but the cup itself would protrude, which would raise questions, no? I've never worn a cup, but I can't imagine it wouldn't be obvious I'm hiding something.
>I don't think she thought that far ahead what her plan was.
Good point.
>I dunno, I think the problem is less the miscommunication and more this episode lacked an identity other than Hibiki liking wearing bras.
Maybe. But at least now we know he's a real pervert too.
>I'd be fine with that lol
I believe it can still happen.
Curse me and my esoteric references
>Exactly. Little shits.
Point being, thie is how kids often are.
I somehow doubt that. But boy, wouldn't that be a twist?
>Yeah, could be because I got used to the higher quality writing of previous episodes.
I personally feel this is high quality writing, just maybe a little less so.
>Damn kids!
More like damn me lol
>Not sure it's a bad thing in this case. I mean, it could be bad for him, because she could still turn out to be a menace.
Fuko the menace who trips on herself :P
>Yeah, although I do also watch high school anime, it's not exactly something I watch super often. I mostly stick to the higher rated ones.
But even the highly rated ones have characters not telling other characters what's going on. Like, Toradora is my favorite wnime of all time and it's filled with that.
>Right, but the cup itself would protrude, which would raise questions, no? I've never worn a cup, but I can't imagine it wouldn't be obvious I'm hiding something.
You don't think it protruding wouldn't make it resemble the lips of a vagina?
>Good point.
Just like Hibiki, she's running on emotions and not logic. Which is funny because Hibiki in this episode said emotions can be bad news.
>Maybe. But at least now we know he's a real pervert too.
Is he? I don't think him liking bras makes him one necessarily.
>I believe it can still happen.
If it does, it means Akira can date Fuko which means Hibiki and Fuko won't happen.
Did I never mention I'm a writer? I write the best twists.
>I personally feel this is high quality writing, just maybe a little less so.
Like I said before, maybe I'm being overly critical because of my disdain for Akira.
>Fuko the menace who trips on herself :P
A menace is a menace.
>But even the highly rated ones have characters not telling other characters what's going on. Like, Toradora is my favorite wnime of all time and it's filled with that.
That isn't my issue with it, of course I had similar problems as a teenager, I just meant the nonsensical ones. Like not wanting to admit he can't surf. Or that I didn't kiss my girlfriend. It would make sense if everyone else had a girlfriend they were kissing though.
>You don't think it protruding wouldn't make it resemble the lips of a vagina?
Again, never worn a cup, but I'm pretty sure it would protrude a hell of a lot more.
>Is he? I don't think him liking bras makes him one necessarily.
Was just joking :P
>If it does, it means Akira can date Fuko which means Hibiki and Fuko won't happen.
And everyone is happy. (assuming you meant can't)
I'm an actual writer and you write better than me.
>Like I said before, maybe I'm being overly critical because of my disdain for Akira.
I imagine it will get worse for a little bit.
>A menace is a menace.
A menace to herself is still a menace.
>That isn't my issue with it, of course I had similar problems as a teenager, I just meant the nonsensical ones. Like not wanting to admit he can't surf. Or that I didn't kiss my girlfriend. It would make sense if everyone else had a girlfriend they were kissing though.
So, you think being ashamed of not being able to surf is nonsensical? I don't know if I agree. I feel it's less about being unable to surf and more your friends looking forward to something and you being ashamed you can't do it.
>Again, never worn a cup, but I'm pretty sure it would protrude a hell of a lot more.
Fair enough. The only time I wore a cup was when I tried out for middle school football. I don't remember what it was like, tho.
>Was just joking :P
Fair enough lol
But seriously, it's refreshing to see how progressive the show is being on the crossdressing stuff.
>And everyone is happy. (assuming you meant can't)
No, I meant can. I ship Akira and Fujio, but I also want to see Fuko be happy without getting with Hibiki.
Are you implying I'm not an actual writer? How dare you.
>I imagine it will get worse for a little bit.
Oh boy.
>So, you think being ashamed of not being able to surf is nonsensical? I don't know if I agree. I feel it's less about being unable to surf and more your friends looking forward to something and you being ashamed you can't do it.
Yes, because most people can't surf, it's not something to be embarrassed about. Even if a few of my friends could surf, I still wouldn't be embarrassed.
>Fair enough. The only time I wore a cup was when I tried out for middle school football. I don't remember what it was like, tho.
You probably weren't wearing just underwear on top... I hope.
>But seriously, it's refreshing to see how progressive the show is being on the crossdressing stuff.
Yup, especially since it's from the early 2000s.
>No, I meant can. I ship Akira and Fujio, but I also want to see Fuko be happy without getting with Hibiki.
Oh. I want Fujio and Fuko, no one for Akira.
Nah, I'll believe you
>Oh boy.
[](#urbansmile)
>Yes, because most people can't surf, it's not something to be embarrassed about. Even if a few of my friends could surf, I still wouldn't be embarrassed.
But if all your friends is obsessed eith surfing, you'd hate to be excluded. I know I would.
>You probably weren't wearing just underwear on top... I hope.
I had them inside my boxers
>Yup, especially since it's from the early 2000s.
You can kinda see why Jojo's Bizarre Adventure is so beloved by the LGBT community as it is.
>Oh. I want Fujio and Fuko, no one for Akira.
Akira just needs to mellow out a little.
Thoughts on Hibiki feeling that emotions can be contagious?
Thoughts on Fujio resenting Miho because she feels like she's always ahead of her?
What are your thoughts on Hibiki pitching an idea of the boys and the girls settle their issues through something called battle games?
What are your thoughts on one of the male students drowning but Akira saving him?
What are your thoughts on it being revealed that the reason the boys were fighting was because they were arguing about surfing and it was to mask one of them being unable to surf?
What are your thoughts on Miho revealing she didn't kiss her boyfriend but instead got in a fight with him?
What are your thoughts on Hibiki realizing he likes bras because he's a guy and that's something normal guys like?
Thoughts on Kōji and Tofu digging a tunnel but Lulu using a magnet to change their direction to where Lulu is bathing?
Just another day in school.
>Thoughts on the pool opening up soon?
Was really hoping things would get dangerous for Hibiki.
>Thoughts on Kōji liking to surf?
Don't care that he likes to surf, but he used his bloody mirror as a surfboard!
>Thoughts on Hibiki going bra shopping?
>What are your thoughts on Hibiki worrying he's becoming too much like a woman?
Was surprised when he admitted he was into that stuff lol. Especially when you take into account he's a PE teacher, and you know people in that area are often very manly and whatnot.
>Thoughts on Hibiki feeling that emotions can be contagious?
He's right, it's the reason people don't really like to be around others who are always down.
>Thoughts on Fujio resenting Miho because she feels like she's always ahead of her?
I can relate. Not from when I was a kid, but as an adult. I've made, and continue making certain decisions that leave me kind of stagnated, job wise, meanwhile I see friends actually make an effort to go further in life. It's hard to say that I'm jealous, because I actually don't want to change things, but somehow it still hurts when I see people doing so much better than me.
>What are your thoughts on Hibiki pitching an idea of the boys and the girls settle their issues through something called battle games?
Hibiki really wanted to cause chaos.
>What are your thoughts on one of the male students drowning but Akira saving him?
Meh.
>What are your thoughts on it being revealed that the reason the boys were fighting was because they were arguing about surfing and it was to mask one of them being unable to surf?
Silly child arguments.
>Thoughts on Miho saying she kissed her boyfriend?
>What are your thoughts on Miho revealing she didn't kiss her boyfriend but instead got in a fight with him?
I have no thoughts on the matter, I really didn't care about it beyond thinking it was a silly reason to be feeling down.
>What are your thoughts on Hibiki realizing he likes bras because he's a guy and that's something normal guys like?
A bit too silly. Do guys really like bras? We like bras on women, I guess? But I don't think a lot of guys would look up at a bra and think much of it besides that.
>Thoughts on Kōji and Tofu digging a tunnel but Lulu using a magnet to change their direction to where Lulu is bathing?
[](#peasants)
It must be serious if it made the news.
There would be fights in my high school all the time that police had to be on campus at all times. But it never made the news.
>Was really hoping things would get dangerous for Hibiki.
In what way?
Well, it did get serious. He's enjoying bras a little too much.
>Don't care that he likes to surf, but he used his bloody mirror as a surfboard!
Honestly, that's the funniest thing the show has done with him so far.
>Was surprised when he admitted he was into that stuff lol. Especially when you take into account he's a PE teacher, and you know people in that area are often very manly and whatnot.
Honestly, I respect it. It takes a real man to admit he likes being a girl.
>He's right, it's the reason people don't really like to be around others who are always down.
Or how people who are tired who yawn causes other people to yawn.
I do feel a bit of contentment with my life. I've been washing dishes for the last 10 years or so and I don't see much forward mobility.
Getting back to the show at hand, I like Fujio and Miho as characters. I think the show could be doing more with them. And Fujio like resenting Miho for being more proactive than she is is a very interesting idea.
>Hibiki really wanted to cause chaos.
Chaos solves chaos, I suppose. Maybe.
Hibiki is trying to get their frustrations beat out of them. A way to get their negative energy out in a productive manner.
>Meh.
I would care more if I knew what their names were.
At least it shows that Akira can be thoughtful.
>Silly child arguments.
It's like they were worried that by revealing they can't swim, the others would perceive him as being weak.
>I have no thoughts on the matter, I really didn't care about it beyond thinking it was a silly reason to be feeling down.
I still don't know what to think about Miho. A part of me feels she's lying about having a boyfriend, but it also shows her growing apart from her friends which I feel is an interesting direction. I don't know why she wouldn't be around her friends unless she actually has a boyfriend.
As for it being a silly reason, I think that's the point. Fujio is upset over Miho flaunting her boyfriend in front of her because she has a relationship that she wants with Fujio. I think that's good character writing.
>A bit too silly. Do guys really like bras? We like bras on women, I guess? But I don't think a lot of guys would look up at a bra and think much of it besides that.
I took the message less literal and more you shouldn't be ashamed of liking something no matter what people think of it. You do whatever makes you feel comfortable.
It's similar to the message of the last episode, only it doesn't tie to everything else going on. Or if it does, it's less obvious.
Hibiki should be okay with liking bras. That one guy should be okay with admitting he can't swim. Miho should be okay with revealing not everything is great once you get a boyfriend. I get what the show was aiming at, but I don't think it came together as well as the last one did. The pieces were there, and on the whole I like the characterization of the cast in this episode, but the execution could've been better.
>[](#peasants)
[](#serialkillerlaugh)
Serves them right, honestly.
By the way, how do these two even pay rent? It feels like being a menace is all they do.
Yeah but you're not from aniland!
>In what way?
Getting close to being exposed.
>Well, it did get serious. He's enjoying bras a little too much.
True, but not dangerous in the way I expected.
>Honestly, that's the funniest thing the show has done with him so far.
Probably won't top it.
>Honestly, I respect it. It takes a real man to admit he likes being a girl.
Not sure the trans community would like that comment.
>Or how people who are tired who yawn causes other people to yawn.
That's a different thing though, but even dogs do it!
>I do feel a bit of contentment with my life. I've been washing dishes for the last 10 years or so and I don't see much forward mobility.
I'm a bit different, it's not just contentment. I have big time anxiety, and my job allows me to work, I only go to the office about 3 times a month, my bosses and coworkers are very cool and there's very little stress/pressure (most days). The pay is below average for a software developer, but everything else is perfect. I could go for a better paying job, but then I'd probably be very stressed, and who knows what other problems could arise. So I am happy, just wish I made more money, like my colleagues/friends who leave for bigger companies.
>Getting back to the show at hand, I like Fujio and Miho as characters. I think the show could be doing more with them. And Fujio like resenting Miho for being more proactive than she is is a very interesting idea.
Fujio yeah, but I don't care for Miho (for now anyway).
>Hibiki is trying to get their frustrations beat out of them. A way to get their negative energy out in a productive manner.
Too bad someone nearly died lol.
>I would care more if I knew what their names were.
Wouldn't change much for me.
>It's like they were worried that by revealing they can't swim, the others would perceive him as being weak.
That's because he is weak. He's a bitch.
>I still don't know what to think about Miho. A part of me feels she's lying about having a boyfriend, but it also shows her growing apart from her friends which I feel is an interesting direction. I don't know why she wouldn't be around her friends unless she actually has a boyfriend.
Would be weird if she was lying about that too, so I didn't even consider the possibility.
>As for it being a silly reason, I think that's the point. Fujio is upset over Miho flaunting her boyfriend in front of her because she has a relationship that she wants with Fujio. I think that's good character writing.
Maybe, I still couldn't care about it...
>I took the message less literal and more you shouldn't be ashamed of liking something no matter what people think of it. You do whatever makes you feel comfortable.
>It's similar to the message of the last episode, only it doesn't tie to everything else going on. Or if it does, it's less obvious.
If that was the actual message, then I guess it's a good one, but I didn't interpret it that way, maybe it's my fault though!
Yeah, the only thing I got from it was "we all have silly problems" rather than "everyone should be okay with what they're dealing with".
>By the way, how do these two even pay rent? It feels like being a menace is all they do.
Wasn't it explained in the first episode? They don't.
Is it bare knuckle fighting in aniland?
>Getting close to being exposed.
You seem excited about this for someone not interested in Hibiki /s
>True, but not dangerous in the way I expected.
It seems like you want Hibiki fanservice lol
>Probably won't top it.
Probably not
>Not sure the trans community would like that comment.
I'm pro trans. Hell, I run a couple pro trans subreddits.
>That's a different thing though, but even dogs do it!
Still something related to osmosis
>I'm a bit different, it's not just contentment. I think we all wish we made more money.
>Fujio yeah, but I don't care for Miho (for now anyway).
I like her because it's like she's going down a different path from the rest of her friends. Which unfortunately happens in life.
>Too bad someone nearly died lol.
Well, yeah, that sucks.
At least he didn't nearly cause Fuko to drown.
>Wouldn't change much for me.
Fair enough
>That's because he is weak. He's a bitch.
Woah, okay. Bit harsh.
>Would be weird if she was lying about that too, so I didn't even consider the possibility.
I've been thinking that since she was first introduced.
>Maybe, I still couldn't care about it...
I'll stand by this part. The guy stuff was whatever, but the girl conflict I thought was compelling and a good way to forward certain characters.
>If that was the actual message, then I guess it's a good one, but I didn't interpret it that way, maybe it's my fault though!
How did you interpret it?
>Yeah, the only thing I got from it was "we all have silly problems" rather than "everyone should be okay with what they're dealing with".
It's more they should be okay with their silly problems.
>Wasn't it explained in the first episode? They don't.
Well, there you go lol
It seems unfair they don't have to pay but Hibiki does.
When it's not with kstanas or the equivalent of an atomic bomb.
>You seem excited about this for someone not interested in Hibiki /s
>It seems like you want Hibiki fanservice lol
My tastes have been changing lately...
>I'm pro trans. Hell, I run a couple pro trans subreddits.
Still a joke :P
>I think we all wish we made more money.
A fair assessment. Though some people can't do much about it, others choose not, because of anxiety or other factors.
>I like her because it's like she's going down a different path from the rest of her friends. Which unfortunately happens in life.
It does, doesn't mean I'm gonna care about her though!
>Woah, okay. Bit harsh.
Remember what I said? Psychopath. Let them all drown!
>I've been thinking that since she was first introduced.
You really have trust issues huh?
>How did you interpret it?
The thing I said afterwards :P
>It seems unfair they don't have to pay but Hibiki does.
We don't know what Granny is forcing them to do.
Damn, they have atomic bombs in aniland? That's hardcore.
>My tastes have been changing lately...
One of us! One of us!
>Still a joke :P
I sometimes have a habit of taking things at face value.
>A fair assessment. Though some people can't do much about it, others choose not, because of anxiety or other factors.
Yeah, people have their reasons. Mine is because of sanity of mind.
>It does, doesn't mean I'm gonna care about her though!
Well, I'll try to get her to care about her!
>Remember what I said? Psychopath. Let them all drown!
[You rn](#serialkillerlaugh)
>You really have trust issues huh?
Says the person who thinks I'm gaslighting him :P
>The thing I said afterwards :P
Fair play
>We don't know what Granny is forcing them to do.
Well, she's torturing them, so there's that
Not gonna say what anime it is but... Yes.
>One of us! One of us!
Sorry, I wasn't serious :(
>I sometimes have a habit of taking things at face value.
You really shouldn't do that with me :)
>Yeah, people have their reasons. Mine is because of sanity of mind.
Good enough reason.
>Says the person who thinks I'm gaslighting him :P
[](#konosubawot2)
>Well, she's torturing them, so there's that
Yeah, the end of last episode was... Truly disturbing.
Nichijou? Lol
>Sorry, I wasn't serious :(
Damn.
One day...
>You really shouldn't do that with me :)
Now I feel like I'm being trolled lol
>Good enough reason.
I would say so
>[](#konosubawot2)
Oh, don't act innocent all of a sudden [](#lolipolice)
>Yeah, the end of last episode was... Truly disturbing.
I think the most disturbing part was she didn't look that bad 😳
In the episode 3, Ruru handed Hibiki a pair of tight underwear.
I noticed before, especially in episode 1 since he used it as his solar flare, but... Why is the salaryman carrying a mirror everywhere he goes...?

Oh yeah, forgot about those lol.
>You need more exposure, more light when you shoot something dark, and that glass is meant to reflect light.
Fair enough! Forgot he was into the whole photograph thing.
…wait why does he have a mirror
I’m smiling like a psycho because Hibiki is discovering the joys of gender nonconformity and I will kill for him.
Why would you offer him a gun Lulu 😭
VP is really 😬 I’m not sure how this show was received by queer folk and allies when it first dropped (at least in the west), but she really is just 😬

It does seem a bit silly that the news had a whole top segment about students not getting along. But I think the girls’ issues between each other was a lot more…organic than how the boys got into a row.
I’m really vibing with Hibiki. I don’t…think he got the right message about the bras though. But everyone’s gender journey is different.

1. The start was a bit OTT, the middle was nice and I could draw some parallels. The “truth out” not being in a bottle episode, a beach episode, or a “stranded” episode is impressive.
2. I am admittedly unimpressed with them outside of Akira.
3. Relatable from some queer perspectives, honestly. It aligns with a current western queer webtoon I’m reading, so it’s cool how stars align in that regard.
Trust me, we're asking the same thing
>I’m smiling like a psycho because Hibiki is discovering the joys of gender nonconformity and I will kill for him.
Hibiki is living his best life
>Why would you offer him a gun Lulu 😭
Look, Lulu is just giving him another option
>VP is really 😬 I’m not sure how this show was received by queer folk and allies when it first dropped (at least in the west), but she really is just 😬
I don't think there was much of a reaction. This show is pretty obscure.
But about the vice principal, at least she's clearly the bad person in all this.

The part I don't understand is that I don't know what really caused an issue. Was it really all because Miho has a boyfriend? Because one guy doesn't like surfing. Seems a bit tame to cause everyone to start fighting. But what do I know?
>I’m really vibing with Hibiki. I don’t…think he got the right message about the bras though. But everyone’s gender journey is different.
You mean you think he's reaching by saying every guy likes bras? :P
If it allows him to accept himself more, than I think it's good he has this mindset.

Me and KuKiSin were talking about how you could've reworked this episode to be more about Hibiki and Fuko. Have Hibiki find out Fuko can't swim, he tries teaching her, Fuko almost drowns, and Akira comes and saves her. That might've given the episode more of an identity and focus, though I do like what they do with Hibiki here as well as Fujio and Miho.
> 2. I am admittedly unimpressed with them outside of Akira.
Yeah, Akira is like the representative of all the male characters in this show, for better or worse.
> 3. Relatable from some queer perspectives, honestly. It aligns with a current western queer webtoon I’m reading, so it’s cool how stars align in that regard.
What's the name of it, if you don't mind me asking?
I think Hibiki being so welcoming and nice adds so much charm to this show. He might already be one of my favorite main characters in an anime.
2. I love that for him and would definitely go with him!! I hate bras, but I like seeing people excited about clothing!
3. It helped me understand where we are time wise.
4. Well. I’m glad he has more to him than *ya know*
5. I think him having conflicting opinions about his gender and gender in general is normal.
6. The ***way*** she said it is very “Well, look, I do this!”. And that worries me.
7. The boys felt forced. The girls felt natural.
8. He’s not wrong.
9. Competition and inferiority complexes are very real. At least they didn’t have social media back then in the same way we do.
10. Girl stop it ✋🏾🫠
11. I’m wondering more and more about Akira.
12. I’ve actually seen this while at camp. Someone started drama because they couldn’t swim so they didn’t want any of their friends to swim either. It was nuts!
13. Just because he’s correct doesn’t mean he’s right and all that. It’s normal for guys to like bras, but that includes wearing them or admiring them. I think he understands the normalcy as “Well duh dudes love bras (suggestive)”. Which sure they do. But guys do like brad in a non-sexual manner too, and that’s okay. Whatever works!
Maybe it was a local news report
> 2. I love that for him and would definitely go with him!! I hate bras, but I like seeing people excited about clothing!
It makes Hibiki more endearing
> 3. It helped me understand where we are time wise.
In what way?
> 4. Well. I’m glad he has more to him than *ya know*
No kidding
> 5. I think him having conflicting opinions about his gender and gender in general is normal.
Indeed
> 6. The ***way*** she said it is very “Well, look, I do this!”. And that worries me.
No kidding
> 7. The boys felt forced. The girls felt natural.
I don't disagree
> 8. He’s not wrong.
Nah, not at all
> 9. Competition and inferiority complexes are very real. At least they didn’t have social media back then in the same way we do.
Can you imagine?
> 10. Girl stop it ✋🏾🫠
For real
> 11. I’m wondering more and more about Akira.
For real
> 12. I’ve actually seen this while at camp. Someone started drama because they couldn’t swim so they didn’t want any of their friends to swim either. It was nuts!
I definitely think this conflict is more realistic that KuKiSun suggests.
> 13. Just because he’s correct doesn’t mean he’s right and all that. It’s normal for guys to like bras, but that includes wearing them or admiring them. It's like Hibiki is trying to justify his own existence. He has to rationalize his likes to make it seem like he's not doing anything wrong. It's kinda sad.
