Confused about this Haruhi Suzumiya "Broadcast order"
Okay, now this all might sound weird, but there is something i am genuinely confused about. I watched so much anime over the years, but for some reason never gave haruhi suzumiya a try, before finally buying the original dvd's from 2011, while the discs itself say 2006 so idk. Anyways, before that i was trying to Figure out if i wanna watch it in Broadcast order or Chronological order. People said that Broadcast is so "damn confusing and allat", but many also say that you're gonna miss out on the expierence. Soooo i watched it in Broadcast order, which the dvds problaby sorted it as, because the First episode is actually 00, the Adventures of Mikuru Asahina.
So, now i'm just confused, because i watched it in broadcast Order (Except like, the 3 last episodes) and so far it all makes sense. As in, the context of the Situation was given, at the start of the episodes kyon talked over the current events which all was appropiate, i didnt feel any "randomness". There has been sometimes some unkown information of course, but i feel Like thats more my Interpretation, like "Why is Haruhi so interested in aliens or is a god for Koizumi and bla bla bla", but there never was really anything that felt completely out of place, like its been stated.
So i dont know, did dvds have different orders or something, or did i interpret people's opinions wrong??

The broadcast order, despite being how the show was "designed" to be consumed with the structural arcs leading up to the finale, is actually not preserved in nearly any of the home releases of the show. You do just have to put it together yourself I think (but I am not an expert on all the various releases, maybe one of them does have an option).
Not your fault at all, they were openly confusing about this. I would def not sweat it, it definitely makes a difference but if you were ever gonna like the show you will still like it in chrono order, and can watch it again some day - and if it was only mid or actively not for you, then I doubt you lost much. And now you are an anime veteran and can complain about the same thing we all complained about 20 years ago :)
And I am glad you are becoming a true Otaku! Now you gotta \*really\* commit and watch every episode of Endless Eight...
As far as I can tell, every release that contains both seasons is done in chronological order. Which makes sense since that's how it was broadcast when the second set of 14 episodes were added.
Broadcast order was likely done to make the story have more of a finally, as the last episode of chronological is pretty much as low stakes as you can get.
Chronological is easier to follow, but will have a very low stakes ending. Broadcast order mixes the episodes up to be more satisfying but you maybe confused on how the club gets a computer and the order of events.
Broadcast order is really just for the 2006 season by itself. It's a great and interesting experience, but it doesn't factor in season 2 and the movie.
