The biggest problem with most modern Isekai are the tired tropes they always shove in there with little to no variation and surprises. But there are others that do have like one or two interesting ideas, but they do little to nothing with them. it's as if they just put them in there to give the surface level impression that the show is unique to get people to watch it, and many might watch it to completion in the vain hope that their intrigue might be satiated, but it doesn't happen. This category is even more unfortunate in my opinion because it actually promises greatness with no intention of delivering fully. Sadly this anime falls into that category. I actually liked the first couple of episodes quite a bit. The main character isn't hte "hero" but is rather an assassin, who in a lot of anime would have been a side character, and perhaps even an antagonist depending on the anime in question, and his skills, as the title suggests, are far superior to the hero. But after the beginning it falls into the standard Isekai tropes that I'm just getting tired of. Within the last like 2 or 3 episodes they did try to add some depth and intrigue to the MC with his family, we even see a couple scenes of his family in his original world being worried about him, and he misses them, but that stuff is introduced way too laste to be effective. The ending could have actually been good, even great, if there was enough detail and buildup from earlier in the story. But the fact that the ending is the way it is makes me wonder if this is a case of the author trying to trick us into thinking there's interesting ideas, or if he did have an interesitng story to tell but he was just inept at telling that story in a good way.
