* Bloom into you
* Whisper me a love song
* Im in love with the villainess
* There’s no freaking way I’ll be your lover unless…
* Yuri on ice
* Fragtime
* Citrus
* adachi and shimamura
- There's No Freaking Way I'll Be Your Lover
- Citrus
- The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess and the Genius Young Lady
- This Monster Wants To Eat Me
I cannot recommend that last one enough. It's lighter on the yuri, but it's definitely there. The series is much more focused on heavy emotions and themes of depression, loss, and death.
It's one of my favourite anime ever, so I'll recommend it to anyone, even people who don't typically watch yuri. Shiori is best fishie.
Great entry level Yuri.
Not great entry level ecchi.
Never watch without headphones or with someone present.
Yaoi hmmm…. 🤔
That shouldn’t be hard to find.
.Given (!!!)
.Cherry magic (the premise is kinda delulu but it's an wholesome show)
.Sekaiichi hatsukoi (oldie but goldie)
.Doukyuusei aka classmates (movie)
* Sakura trick
* adachi and shimamura
* kase-san
More advanced yuri:
* bloom into you
* konohana kitan
* magirevo
For yaoi, good starting ones:
* given
* my new boss is goofy
Madoka Magica has very strong yuri hints without them being explicit about it being Yuri (if you REALLY want to do mental gymnastics, you could still say it's love between friends).
Cardcaptor Sakura's main romance is straight, but there's a lot of yuri and yaoi feelings and even a yaoi relationship between side characters.
Revolutionary Girl Utena has the main romance being Yuri, but the anime has so many weird symbolical stuff, I wouldn't call it beginner friendly.
Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha has the two main girls going from rivals to a friendship with Yuri undertones, while in the later seasons, they are together and adopt a daughter.
Ojamajo Doremi doesn't focus on romance, there are very minor romance side plots, but if you look into it, you could argue that Aiko, one of the main girls, is into Yuri.
Izetta: The Last Witch also has very clear Yuri undertones with the main character.
Other series with some yuri in it:
Love, Chunibyo and other delusions has very strongly implied yuri feelings between two important side characters, and a very brief and not very serious yaoi insinuation for another side character.
Strike Witches, if you are into military moe with lots of ecchi, there are lots of yuri pairings between the main girls.
Same for KanColle (currently watching), it's a military moe anime, but without the ecchi and some clear and some more subtle yuri feelings between the characters. I prefer the plot of Strike Witches, though., but Kancolle so far has been much better than Azure Lane in terms of plot.
Speaking of military moe, I don't remember if Girls und Panzer had any yuri, I have to rewatch that one soon, but given the size of the all-girl cast, I would bet it had at least some yuri in it.
Rose of Versailles had a side character developing yuri feelings for the main character, but later falling in love and marrying a male character.
