Please suggest some high fantasy anime

Soo I have basically watched whatever was good in the Isekai genre (unless I forgot something) and i loved them and now I am left hanging and depressed

Can anyone please suggest me some nice and sweet anime with magic and a touch of battle not like the entire thing is battle lol that is usually boring and it's not even necessary

The animes i have loved

[Instert the goats of Isekai]
Danmachi

If possible I want anime with 30+ eps

Hi Desperate-Lie-1499, it seems like you might be looking for new anime to watch!

Have you seen Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear or By The Grace of The Gods?

Desperate-Lie-14992026-01-07 16:51

Nope are they good?

N7CombatWombat2026-01-07 16:54

I think so, and they fit your criteria (they're both also isekai's).

Desperate-Lie-14992026-01-07 16:55

They short thou 😭

Why is every good anime like a teaser of sort they come and pinch and go away

N7CombatWombat2026-01-07 16:57

They both got 2 seasons which is a win to me really since most anime only get the one.

Desperate-Lie-14992026-01-07 16:57

Oh wait they have season 2s?

N7CombatWombat2026-01-07 16:58

Yeah, they should be listed as 24 episodes each.

Desperate-Lie-14992026-01-07 16:59

Yea but still why tf are they so short 😭

N7CombatWombat2026-01-07 17:09

Because most anime are largely seen as an advertising expense. Anime are created with a production committee which is made up of various businesses who all have some sort of stake in the property, they chip in money (the more money you give, the more creative control you have). The idea is to gain popularity so they can sell more products or services they produce based on the property. The last ten or so years has actually been a bit abnormal as we've been seeing more and more seasonal shows actually get second, or more, seasons made.

Record of Lodoss War

InsertRealisticQuote2026-01-07 19:03

Didn't realize how long its been since I saw an anime with a true classical high fantasy setting until I watched this.

abandoned_idol2026-01-07 16:51

Dungeon Meshi is the good high fantasy anime.

Desperate-Lie-14992026-01-07 16:52

Yes I have watched it forgot to mention it lol

abandoned_idol2026-01-07 16:59

"Frieren" has shallower worldbuilding, but just as well characterized with amazing comic relief.

rinceofales2026-01-07 16:53

If you haven't already, Frieren is a mandatory recommendation to anyone who likes fantasy.

Desperate-Lie-14992026-01-07 16:54

Oh i have

rinceofales2026-01-07 17:04

Then I would probably recommend mahoutsukai no yome(ancient magus' bride)

Desperate-Lie-14992026-01-07 17:05

I have heard of it is it good

rinceofales2026-01-07 17:08

It's kind of has similar vibes to frieren. Mostly laid back and calm, but emotional on some scenes.

Dante4512026-01-08 00:07

I thoroughly enjoyed it but it’s a bit more slice of life in some ways. Agree with the other comment that it kinda has some frieren vibes but more about the master/student dynamic. First couple episodes are rough tbh.

MrRos2026-01-07 17:02

Came to recommend this 😂

WakandaNowAndThen2026-01-07 17:00

Fulfilling my sacred vow to plug *Ishura* wherever it is remotely relevant. Not very cozy, though.

Desperate-Lie-14992026-01-07 17:01

Yea lol it was in my watchlist but I didn't watch for that reason I don't want brutality rn

WakandaNowAndThen2026-01-07 17:11

Very fair. Keep it in mind. I'd say it's not necessarily that brutal comparatively. Just know if we never get season 3 I'll blame you specifically.

Desperate-Lie-14992026-01-07 17:12

LMAO i have it in the watchlist still

meow9852026-01-07 17:05

Would a rom com suggestion be any good?
Actually I just completed this anime and it was very good so I thought I should recommend it.

Title:

"Watari kun's ****** is about to collapse"

Desperate-Lie-14992026-01-07 17:06

If it has high fantasy type stuff in it sure

meow9852026-01-07 17:08

No it's not fantasy it's a rom-com,

Sorry 😔

elliemoran18082026-01-07 17:07

When you say ‘high fantasy’ I automatically think of Faraway Paladin first, but when you say ‘nice and sweet with magic’ I think of Ascendance of a Bookworm and Welcome to Demon School Iruma-kun.

You kind of have to squint at the last two to see the ‘touch of battle’ part though.

Desperate-Lie-14992026-01-07 17:08

Yea watched faraway paladin and when I mentioned goat I meant ascendance of bookworm aswell

The other one doesn't really hit me the way others did yk

elliemoran18082026-01-07 17:12

Yah, I get that on Iruma-kun. I first put off watching it for years cuz it didn’t look like my style, but once I did I got hooked and it’s in my top 3 now.

Desperate-Lie-14992026-01-07 17:13

Ooo damnnnnn I'll try it

ScrewySqrl2026-01-07 17:09

Frieren

Record of Lodoss War (watch OVAs 1-8, then switch to TV)

Frieren: Beyond Journey's End

Ancient Magic Bride

somali and the forest spirit

Natsume's Book of Friends

Flying Witch

Gregariouswaty2026-01-07 17:17

There's just one episode out but Sentenced to be a Hero is probably the big breakout hit of this season and it has a pretty strong 1 hour opening episode if you need something current.

Desperate-Lie-14992026-01-07 17:18

Yeppppp loved it

Niwrats2026-01-07 23:23

slayers (3 first seasons are great)
