Looking for anime that have bullet caused destruction

I really enjoy when gun fights cause environmental destruction. The scene from Trigun comes to mind, when by the end of the fight the house is completely destroyed, or in the ghost in the shell movie, when they are chasing the guy with high velocity rounds. Are there any modern anime that focus on gunfights? It seems to be a 90s thing.

Lycoris Recoil

Black Lagoon

Jormungand

Lycoris is the newest of those three.

Lycoris surprised me at how good it was. It'd been described to me as John Wick but with high school girls, but it has far more substance & I ended up enjoying it more.

Idk if I’d call black lagoon modern, it came out in what 2006-2009?

N7CombatWombat2026-01-07 17:54

I'm a few months from 50, everything in the 2000's is modern to me lol. But, that is why I pointed out that Lycoris is the newest one. We really don't get anime with that kind of gunplay that are actually good all that often with Lycoris being the first after a pretty long gap.

Thank you for the recommendations, not a huge fan of "cute girl" anime but I'll give lycoris an honest chance.

N7CombatWombat2026-01-07 19:15

It does have some off duty cute girl stuff, but it's largely cute girls doing badass stuff.

I went into kill la kill thinking I would hate it and that won me over lol so I'm optimistic
