Is the dub of Zombie Land Saga were good as the japanese or not ?
I know that the general opinions about the dub were decent, maybe because of the dubbed songs of S1 by Funimation. However, they were some viewed the dub were bad, especially how people react on upcoming Yumeginga Paradise movie that was only screened dub some of the comments on the trailer revolve into sub vs dub debate and being forced to watch the dub.
I think the reason why some mixed or said the dub were bad is because :
1. The anime theme itself is being made around Japanese culture, from pop culture, idol, jokes/reference that only japanese people know about it, especially about culture & history around the saga prefecture which is the set and important plot of the anime.
2. Most of the casting were miscasted despite the dub having a great cast and female VAs who could sing like :
* Just like the anime theme itself, Tatsumi Kotaro is a character being made specifically for Mamoru Miyano who could do a crazy/bizzare but also entertaining character just like his other character Okabe Rintaro from Stein Gates and its a big shoes for Ricco Fajardo to fill the role.
* Sakura : Brina Palencia's voice was too deep for Sakura, compare her JP VA. and Sakura basically little bit a country girl that had dialect like her Doyansu.
* Some had varied opinions on other Franchouchou member dub VA's like Ai Mizuno being dismissive and aggresive to Sakura & others, Yuugiri and Saki's character personality & their traits difficult to translated in dub since they're a traditional japanese courtesan & 90's style japanese female delinquent.
* Some moments in the dubbed version of the anime make each character feel bland.
* lack of dubbed songs in S2, some view Crunchyroll were lazy or lack of effort to dub it.
* Some general opinions recently viewed that everything on japanese culture, idol & music theme shouldn't get dubbed no matter how good the anime was.
So what is your thought about the dub, is good or not ?

Maybe someday I'll go back and rewatch S1 subbed, then watch S2 and the movie subbed as well.
