Anime with christian characters that are finished

I’m looking for anime involving christian themes: angels, demons the church, that kinda thing. i watched blue exorcist a longggg time ago (first non pokemon anime) but having a continuous plot dissuaded me from finishing it. I like to watch stuff where i can look forward to an ending.
Just to be clear, not looking for anime I could watch at a church with christian values, just looking for one with christian deity’s.
examples include Blue exorcist, High school dxd, that kinda thing

Castlevania

Dependent-Smile64122026-01-08 03:56

Neon Genesis Evangelion has a ton of biblical references and imagery

Slunto-Max2026-01-08 04:13

Yeah but those references are just meant to be something strange and esoteric to Japanese culture, not an actual reflection of Christianity. It has nothing to do with the actual religion.

Not an anime or finished, but the manga "Make the Exorcist Fall in Love" is really good and sounds like it's exactly what you're looking for.

**Orb: On the Movements of the Earth**. It's right up your alley.

From MAL:

>Twelve-year-old prodigy Rafal believes in living rationally, so as to earn praise and respect from society while not being led astray by his emotions. To this end, he publicly states his intention to study theology—the academic field held in highest regard in early 15th century Poland. However, an encounter with a mysterious man upends Rafal's life, sparking an illogical desire to instead pursue his passion for astronomy.
>
>Rafal is determined to prove the beauty and rationality of heliocentrism—the theory that the Earth revolves around the Sun. This belief is considered heretical by the powerful Church, which promotes geocentrism—the Sun revolving around the Earth—as the sole truth of the universe. Those whose beliefs do not align with the will of the Church suffer unfathomably gruesome consequences.
>
>In pursuit of evidence for a heliocentric model of the universe, Rafal grapples with obtaining precise calculations and building empirical theories. His greatest challenge, however, lies in conducting this research discreetly—lest he wish to meet the same fate as other heretics.

Samurai Champloo is about christian characters, but they don't appear until the end.

radon1992026-01-08 04:13

Spice and Wolf - The original wasn’t fully adapted but the church and pagan gods run all through the story.

ReikoInari2026-01-08 04:14

Chrono Crusade and Trigun are the only ones that I can think of right now.

edit: Oh, almost forgot Hellsing.

Angels Egg

Slunto-Max2026-01-08 04:15

Devilman Crybaby is a good one for that.

Also possibly Hellsing Ultimate.

Does blue exorcist count

FreeAgent062026-01-08 04:18

that kinda theme is what i’m looking for, but i already watched it a while ago and it not having an ending kinda turned me off

Ok-Analysis-39022026-01-08 04:19

It does have sequels

Orb on the movements of earth.its heliocentrics vs church

ghostpickleonastick2026-01-08 04:34

Saint Young Men is about Jesus and Buddha as roommates. As far as I am aware Jesus is a Christian character who is finished.

apparent_alien7182026-01-08 05:45

Trigun (1998) and Trigun Stampede both have a lot of Christian imagery. There is a main character who is a Priest and the story features "angels" and has other Christian references.

Sparkletopia2026-01-08 07:12

Angels of Death (mc's religious faith is a big portion of her character)

Togusa_S92026-01-08 07:38

Hellsing Ultimate has a cool church subplot

Dizzy-By-Degrees2026-01-08 15:16

Hellsing Ultimate is Protestants and Catholics fighting over who gets to kill the most vampires.

Trigun has a priest.
