Looking for anime move recommendations!

Watched Legend of Hei 2. BANGER.
Watched The Beast and the Boy. BANGER (for the most part).
First episode of Sentenced to be a hero. BANGER.

I've been watching anime for years so I've seen a lot of the more basic ones. I'm looking for stories with good animation and action similar to these movies/episode. Plz nothing from an actual series unless it's really good since I've seen most actual anime. I'm just looking for movies.

Doesn't have to necessarily be anime either it can be like that final fantasy movie or street fighter or something too.

Hi cpnnnn, it seems like you might be looking for new anime to watch!

The users of this subreddit came up with [a chart of anime recommendations for newcomers and veterans](https://i.redd.it/0w1v880jtq661.png) and [an awesome longer flowchart](https://i.redd.it/vdzlkodz19c71.png). Maybe you can find something there that you'll like \^.\^

When people ask for specifics I just say watch whatever looks interesting or catches your attention. That’s what I do and since then I’ve watched probably about 100 different anime shows.

cpnnnn2026-01-08 07:51

The problem is, these 3 are things that i just randomly came across. I didn't search for them or even know how i came across them but i ended up loving them

So "watch whatever looks good to you" is kinda hard when you don't know where to start lol

Same. Cause I didn’t know where to start. So I just started googling recommendations and from there I started looking recommendations of each category and then it just snow balled and next thing I knew, it’s been 8 years that I spent watching anime lol since 2018 to this very day.

It's a series of movies.

Some possible suggestions:

* Sword of the Stranger
* Big Fish & Begonia
* Steamboy
* Magical Sisters Yoyo & Nene

And if those don't do it: https://myanimelist.net/animelist/AnimeMovieNight

If you want something that feels like a warm hallmark movie. “Josse, the tiger and the fish” made me cry.

Also if you can find it, there’s a movie out there with a bunch of animated short stories about the Halo games. I watched it as a kid and it got me interested in anime.
