9999 is typical edgelord revenge slop, so if that's what you want that's what you get

Super similar to Failure Frame, except more waifus

Even Failure Frame was better than 9999.

Idk about the 2nd one because I'm not looking up the English name for that, but the gacha one is more about revenge tho his female summons are basically a harem even if he shows no interest like that towards them. While I think it was the 2nd episode makes it look like it's going to be more harem, the rest of the show isn't like that at all.

Edit: gave in and looked up the second one, no harem just a childhood friend

What are some actual harems that releases last year? 😭🙏

Toloran2026-01-08 13:20

Not fantasy (technically), but 100 Girlfriends season 2 released last year. It's harem and commits to the bit.

It’s a typical revenge based fantasy anime. It has harem tropes, but didn’t actively engage in that aspect as it’s primarily focused on the revenge. I found it enjoyable to watch.

Gift level 9999 MC has a ton of hotties around him, but they are all summoned and automatically fanatically devoted to him. While he sees them as companions, there are *no* love interest as the MC is singlemindedly obsessed with revenge.

Moshoku MC has girls interested in him, but he's all about learning skills
