A good anime to watch with my girlfriend

So my girlfriend and I have been watching Avatar: TLA on weekend mornings for the past couple of months, since it's a show she liked when she was younger.

We'll soon be done with the show, and I was thinking that I might try and put her on anime, not sure what's a good show to transition to though.

For context, I tried getting her to watch Death Note with me in the past and she kind of lost interest, but since she likes Avatar, maybe something a bit more lighthearted would be better.

Also, I think we're gonna have to watch with english dub for her to not lose interest, so it would have to be a show that has a good english dub.

**TLDR;** Suggest a light-hearted anime with a good english dub to watch with my GF

Avatar gets heavy as well. Not as heavy as FMA, but for a kids show on Nickelodeon it's pretty damn heavy to the point it makes me wonder how they got away with it. With one of the main conflicts being Aang agonizing over whether he really has to kill the fire lord.

Avatar depicts multiple genocides, even if not explicitly on-screen, and physical child abuse and mutilation. Think they’ll be fine.

Edit: I will admit that they don’t easily fall into the ‘light-hearted’ category, but they are emotion-driven with a good balance of humor.

I think FMA Brotherhood has a pretty similar energy to Avatar. I think I was at a similar age when I watched both. So if she is into Avatar which is lighthearted but can also get pretty serious, FMA Brotherhood seems pretty ideal. It even has a similar episode count
