I’m looking for an anime where the mc meets his childhood friend(?) who he thought was a boy, but she ends up being a girl

I’m not exactly sure on the specifics of it but I am certain:
She has grey/silver hair whom
Mc has brow/black hair
Mc doesnt recognise her at first and she asks if he remembers her

I’m not certain on these:
She likes the mc
It’s a sci fi but set on earth where they fight with these robot suit thing but not exactly a mecha
And they meet in some sort of combat academy thing.

I may be mixing a bunch of different anime up together which is why I have points I’m uncertain on but I can’t find anything, the closest I got was one called chrome shell regios but it’s animations is far too old for what I remember, it’s most probably mid 2010’s to anywhere up till 2023

Infinite Stratos?

lost_kaineruver42026-01-08 11:53

Sounds likely. But the girl with the silver hair is Laura while the girl he's describing is a combination of Rin and Charlotte.

It's been an awfully long time since I watched it, I never enjoyed it enough to rewatch, but it was the first to come to mind for me though

I wouldn't blame you. The setting info op described matches. The only thing that doesn't is for the girl. As the description is a mix and match for at least of three of them.

The silver hair girl meeting a brown-haired MC who doesn't remember a childhood friend (who may or may not be the silver-haired girl) could be referring to Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian. But no sci-fi, it's a high-school romcom, and it is fairly recent, so I don't think it's what you are looking for.
