Actually good Jack-of-all-trades anime??
So 'Jack-of-all-trades, Party of None' started airing and I gotta say I'm pretty disappointed so far. Two episodes in and he seems more like Jack-of-two-trades instead of all trades, and despite this being what the series is called, it's not a plot point at all.
I actually was really looking forward to it, as I have identified as a jack-of-all-trades person my whole life. I was always quick to pick up new skills and did everything decent, but could never reach higher mastery of anything.
So now I'm asking, is there a show with the main theme about being a jack-of-all-trades, where it actually portrays the struggles and experience of it?

Perhaps he can do more and doesn’t know it
Actually this is a good place for "left my party/was kicked out of my party" tropes, because often the guy who gets the boot is a generalist and support class. *Banished from the Hero's Party* features Gideon, a Guide class with mastery of every basic skill, and *Left My A-Rank Party* features a generalist MC named Yuke Felldio.
It's a handyman that get isekayied so he has a lot of modern everyday skills, a toolbox, and no magic or fighting prowess.
It's fun seeing his very wide skillset help others, just a guy with a toolbox and some WD-40.
Otherwise the only jack of all trades that come to mind is goblin slayer, he fights well enough without being overpowered, he makes traps, he lead his team, he does so many things while only being "the guy" at killing goblins.
In a modern setting maybe Golden boy?
Characters in anime have rarely nothing they excel at, generally they have multiple domains of excellence (by comparison of most anime cast)
The first season of tsukimichi moonlight fantasy start that way, but he becomes very powerful by the end of the season.
If you just want someone struggle, I recommend Kaiji, it's so good.
For example, Yuke is a decent swordsman but also an excellent support mage. He'll step forward and use his sword when Marina and Nene are having issues, but is usually more useful slinging buffs and debuffs, so he mostly supports the backline and plays defense.
As for Gideon/Red, he can definitely defend himself but he mostly does his best work before and after the battle, using scouting, strategy, intelligence and first aid to strengthen the party's position.
Anyway there’s the I Parry Everything anime where the guy can only use the basic skill from each class. There’s also the Classless Hero one but instead of being okay at everything he’s just great at everything.
It’s very fan service heavy but Golden Boy.
Handyman Saitou in Another World as well.
Where the guy is a jack of all trades because he knows how to use magic AND counter it.
BUT, he is not able to use higher tier of magic. Just he use a lot of different, weak spell, but he use them very efficiently which looks like he is very strong when he is not, just smart.
Also he knows the future and that there will be the end of the world and for that he tries to fix all the mistakes there was in the previous world.
Since he needs his friends to be strong, he is very good at teaching them too.
I'm sure people knows the name, I totally forgot it xD . And I need to continue it, I dropped even tho it was good.
A strong guy who seems weak. I don't recommend it.
In the beginning he is more competent than the rest because he knows everybody strength and weaknesses.
But when the story gets more serious and he gets in the part where he doesn't know the future and the story fluctuate from what he knows, that's best.
It's one of the few stories when teamwork is actually important and the MC doesn't do everything alone.
that is the most common way to refer to such people
but party of none doesnt make sense unless he doesnt join a party but the cover shows 8 people in total
Not something so special that it needs to be included in the title
I am still of the opinion that they shouldnt have added that last part but it does clesr up why they put it there in the first place
