Also, points for furry waifu!
Shizuka Yakou (Yuka Nukui) is a cute and dedicated blind girl who works at the Tonome detective agency run by none other than an invisible man (Yohei Azakami!) with a very dapper fashion sense AND gentlemanly manner ...right down to when he asks her out on a date.
Even in a world filled to the brim with supernatural entities and fantastical beings, two people having a genuine and sincere date at a restaurant where they get to better know each other and explore their feelings is as heartwarming as it is adorable. It helps that, through the instincts honed through her blindness, Shizuka can sense and be aware of Tonome in a way no one else can. So in a way it's a fantastical relationship that only they and they alone can have.
Tonome may be invisible, but his feelings for Shizuka are positively radiating in his kind and warm words to her...just as Shizuka similarly utterly adores him. They just can't get enough of each other.
But it's not just Shizuka and Tonome! There's also the tall animal waifu (Riho Sugiyama) who is tough but caring and has a bit of a romantic side (and a huge butt), and the surly but sweet in his own way Kikira!
The private detective agency deals with all the usual private detective cases...infidelity, missing persons, etc...just with a supernatural bent! I mean, good luck finding that alien girl who can casually create planets.
Though being able to turn completely invisible is great for stakeouts! Provided someone doesn't run into you with ice cream and ruin your suit. Though good on Tonome for not getting too upset over it!
Note to self: maybe don't reveal infidelity to both the wife and the husband who is cheating on said wife: lest you get hit by your client, the WIFE, as she hits you in rage over the evidence you gathered. Tonome tries to hide his injury with his invisibility, but he should feel lucky that Shizuka can see him and tend to him.
There's a lot of work to do...but any time Tonome spends with Shizuka is time worth having. And Shizuka, for her part, REALLY wants to go on another date. This soon-to-be-couple is definitely on the path to becoming a couple
The ED is really cute! Featuring the daily office life of the Tonome Detective Agency as well as how happy Shizuka is together with Tonome!
With how much focus they put on the character interactions, they really didn't go out of the way to explain Shizuka's adaptations, which might confuse some who are less aware.
*Speaking of Shizuka, I wonder what her parents were thinking when they named her.*
When her watch didn't light up I thought "oh it must be broken" and then felt like an idiot a second later when I realized.
as Fraiser was leaving he asked "should i leave the lights on or off?" and the blind person replied "surprise me"
This was quite adorable. I like the unusual pairing. Keen to see the relationship develop.
Can Tsunagu and the beastpeople live here instead
Why does these aliens sound if the regi Pokémon could speak past “Regi—?”. I swear I heard Registeel and Regice.
Now, if Tounome met Aoyama and got blasted with the ✨twinkles✨, would he become visible by force?
>I’ve been into romance lately
😊
Luna is a cutie.
His little 痛い is so cute!

*hears Azakami*
*folds immediately*
Yuka Nukui, going from one cute girl freaking out over a cute guy (Yoshida, *Yano-kun*) to another ☺️
I’d love more disability representation in MCs in anime (adaptation or originals).
*Manifesting “Real”, “Perfect World”, “I Hear Sunspot” getting anime adaptions*
Such cuteness. This will make me scream into a pillow every episode.
i loved that show; i like these sort of slice-of-life style worlds with a touch of fantasy
Being an investigator is also very apt for an invisible man lol.
Also, in the eyecatch, the ice cream Tounome ate disappeared when it went inside his mouth, but the tea that he drank later in the episode remained visible even in his throat. Wonder if there’s a reason there or just something that was overlooked by the animators.
Seems this’ll be my fluffy romance for the season. And as of now, it seems they’re not officially dating yet. So I’m looking forward to when one ask the other out and Yakou really becomes the Soon-To-Be Wife
I do sort of wonder how Yako is even able to navigate a computer in the first place.
To reply to you though - Yep, there are computers that are basically just braille keyboards with integrated computers. As any computer would, those tend to have bluetooth, aux jacks, speakers or other kinds of audio outputs so you can listen to the screenreader (the software that tells you what's happening "on screen"). It's what she uses around the 8 minute mark.
Any computer can do that though, braille keyboards with integrated CPUs etc. are just a lot more portable and thus a lot more convenient. Like a steamdeck you don't have to look at in order to use it.
i don't have first hand knowledge, but i know there are a lot of affordances in computers and web browsers for the visually impaired like screen readers and alt tags for images
i've seen it come up because sometimes there are weird trends which break the experience for those users, like when people use image alt tags for jokes instead of actually describing an image, or when people use characters that look fancy-looking but are co-opted from other symbols which are read different by screen readers
example: https://www.m365princess.com/blogs/bold/
Now just boil this down, if you don't need a mouse, and you don't need to see, what's left? A computer with a keyboard that also conveys information via sound or touch (braille in this case) on what's happening "on screen". And for such a device, if it doesn't need to be uber powerful, you can just integrate the "laptop" bits into the keyboard and tada, most portable computer of all time. That's the special keyboard she's holding in the scene around 08:00 minute mark.
And in terms of how to convey what's happening via sound, there's something called "screenreaders" that basically analyzes open applications, browser windows etc. and tell you what happens, typically by telling you what is currently "in focus" as you navigate with your keyboard across your apps. It requires some explicit knowledge for app and web developers to correctly code their stuff though so that it conveys the correct information to said screenreader. That's why there's a much larger push over the past couple of years in the EU to make such software more accessible and get web/app-devs to improve their code in that regard. I'd know, I'm a webdev that actually deals with that stuff and took the role of spreading that knowledge in my org.
Your operating system typically even has one integrated! Though for Windows people typically use NVDA or Jaws rather than the in-built one.
And the dinner at the restaurant had none of the food shown and I think he took at least one bite "on camera".
He specifically mentioned that fluid becomes visible (as in blood when he's injured) maybe the liquid/solid difference has something to do with it?
Like, the ice cream gets chewed up in the mouth until it's been fully tasted and melted, but the tea goes straight down the throat.
So maybe things don't turn invisible until they're fully saturated by his saliva or whatever his body secretes to turn himself invisible.
I do feel like Yako’s character sells the daily life of a blind person much better.
This show was very endearing and fun. And I like all the aspects of the fantasy setting established so far. The peculiar identical looking aliens especially amused me.
I could appreciate all these fantasy beings roaming the streets when Tonome and Yako went for dinner the first time. It subtly showed us that this is a very different world from ours.
I liked little touches like Tonome telling her he's about to start walking before doing so. That seems like something a considerate person would do for someone who can't see.
Despite the ironic name, he is blind
> stops
What is this bullshit?
i'm gonna cry
Kikira may not appear friendly on the surface, but is actually kind and considerate towards Shizuka.
The lore of the title interests me as well, even though it may take a back seat from the romance between Shizuka and Tounome.
\- There are all kinds of residents. Humans, beastfolk, ogres, aliens, etc.
\- Tounome's invisibility can be adjusted to varying degrees. He can be partially invisible, with only clothes appearing, or turn fully invisible, including the items he have on him.
\- Blood flowing out of Tounome and his injuries being visible to others is an interesting plot idea.
It's the little things like how her colleagues treat her mostly normally, but account for her lack of sight when relevant by stating *where* they specifically put something down without making a big fuss about it.
Yako is a very likeable female lead too. So yeah, this is probably going to be a great office romance!
I liked the beast girl too, she had an interesting design. I guess she must be the “muscle” at that particular detective agency. I wonder if we will get some detective stories, or if it will be 100% cute romance.
An odd and lovely couple. Shizuka is so cute and Tounome is an invisible gentleman and it's really quite rare iykwim.
Watching them really puts a smile on my face.
for those who didn't catch on, Tounome's surname 透乃眼 has some wordplay, with *toume* 透明 meaning "transparent", with the set of kanji being something like "transparent to the eye"
the 透 kanji might also be familiar to those who watch Boku no Hero Academia because that's the given name for an invisible girl character (read as *Touru*)
Neat to see the modern world multi-species society, even including some aliens.

That restaurant was quite the gamble, because it could have been that Shizuka actually dislikes coriander. To many people (me included) coriander tastes like soap. I absolutely can't eat it at all.
This is going to be one of my comfort shows this season. Shizuka is just too adorable.

Shizuka's so cute! She's super kind, thoughtful and also serious when it comes to her work. She's also very relatable, she blushes often and loves romance books!
Tounome is the greenest flag out there, he's a whole forest at this point! I'm saying that I FELL FOR HIM SO HARD during the episode (so did Shizuka lol). This invisible man right there is the most charming guy i've encountred on any media or even irl. I need them to marry right at this moment.
And wow, detective work seems interesting as well. Tounome's chosen the best possible job since he can just observe the target from far without anybody noticing.
Btw please correct me if i'm wrong but afaik there might be a little bit of translation error when Shizuka asked Tounome if he'd like to see her, i think she meant if he'd like to see himself so she was relieved to see somebody okay without seeing themselves just like her. This was what i remember from those days i watched the voiced manga episodes but i might very well be wrong.
I enjoyed the first episode, NEXT TIME PLEASE GET MARRIED!
Edit:typo
Kikira and Jarashi seem nice too, I like the detail of them telling Yakou where her things are since she won't know where they are. I was wondering if Kikira was just a normal human but with him complaining about how tired he is, I'm guessing he's not and that's part of an effect of whatever species he is.
I mean that's a pretty regular human thing
i think [this is the closest we get to seeing it in detail](https://i.imgur.com/HGd87bW.png)
kind of looks like there's [a braille screen or maybe a touchpad here](https://i.imgur.com/AymPpXk.jpeg)?
never mind [THIS is the closest we get](https://i.imgur.com/eagN9Y6.jpeg)
https://selvasblv.com/product/qbraille-xl/
they describe it as a perkins-style keyboard with a braille display https://selvasblv.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/BrailleSense-6-User-Manual-English_V3.0_250922.pdf
i think it's extremely likely they use that exact device because the japan braille library's store (which says on their website they are the largest retailer for japanese blind and low vision people) sells it https://yougu.nittento.or.jp/12910
(for 398,000 yen?! accounting for shipping (thankfully it's tax exempt) that's around 400,000 yen or around 2540 usd... but that's still around half the cost compared to getting it in the us at 4695 usd retail price alone then adding tax and shipping on top of that... braille technology is so expensive :()
---
i also ended up looking into japanese braille a bit, and i actually feel like braille kana (tenji) is easier to understand conceptually than english braille or even sighted kana because certain dots have kana "vowel radicals" and then the rest of the dots have kana "consonant radicals" (i made both those terms up) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_Braille
but even in japanese braille there's multiple writing systems... tenji uses 2x3 cells, while braille kanji (kantenji) uses 2x4 cells... though honestly i'm impressed by how comprehensive the wikipedia article is explaining it, since i was wondering how they could possibly write hundreds if not thousands of kanji with just 8 dots https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Braille_kanji
and the braillesense 6 mini actually supports 2x4 cells! the user guide says it's a mode you activate, and also says it supports non-english braille systems, so i'm sure shizuka is taking notes with the 2x4 mode in tenji and kantenji
---
i also went down a bit of a rabbit hole looking into japanese apps for it, since the maker of the braillesense 6 mini is an american company so their main audience isn't japanese people--it looks like the official distributor for the device in japan develops their own apps for it! https://www.extra.co.jp/support/bs6app/
(they had an app to play on shogi club 24! but the servers for it shut down just over a week ago after running since 1998 :( https://www.extra.co.jp/product/ex-shogi24/)
and there also seems to be at least one other company making apps for it, like this dictionary app--interesting how there's maybe a small ecosystem of app developers in japan for the device https://tsutsujifriend.com/10
(that app is 25,000 yen, around 26,500 yen assuming shipping and no tax like for the device, or around 170 usd, but considering it's got literally 42 dictionaries that seems like an understandable price this time--one of them is a kanji dictionary, so i'm sure that one is *loaded* with kantenji)
it makes me wonder, now that arm chips are getting more powerful, if we're going to start seeing braille devices on windows on arm now instead of android... maybe that hypothetical switch could open up braille users to more accessible technology and a larger pool of developers (especially libre/open-source ones) that could help make programs for them? they FOR SURE need to make the tech cheaper though!
i assumed it was some kind of refreshable braille display; doing some google image searches turns up devices which look kind of similar

The anime title really isn’t throwing any punches?
The only thing is… by that logic THEY STILL ARNT MARRIED
cue sequel?
And the ML is so straightforward and their romance is adorable. The idea of an invisible man and a blind woman falling for each other is kind of cool tbh. She can't see anyone but no one can see him so it doesn't bother him. And she can sense him better than anyone else which makes her special.
This one is a keeper. It made me smile and feel all warm and fuzzy. Need at least one of those each season.
it is NOT because of the hot animal lady, I swear....
I really do appreciate how they're showing her blindness realistically, and their cute interactions.
["My Pho & Rau Mui"](https://files.catbox.moe/njqoba.jpg) — Vietnamese for "Parsley & Coriander" (or nearly so; with diacritics, it should be "Mỹ Phổ & Rau Mùi"). Anyway, they must be doing something right to stick around since 1825, dang. [](#seasonalfoodie)
[Really?](https://files.catbox.moe/388dj8.jpg) Do— do you think you could make us a new one? We seem to be ruining this one… [](#foldedarms)
Seems like a really bad idea to have the subject of the infidelity investigation attending the [findings report session](https://files.catbox.moe/vcxo34.jpg) [](#overwhelmed)
This is cute as hell, holy moly. Also I can't believe no one else seems to have thought of this premise before — an invisible man × a blind woman. It seems so obvious in retrospect and such a fruitful setup. Can't wait for more! [](#concealedexcitement)
someone who can't see, and someone who can't be seen, quite a nice combo, dont you think?
At least he actually made a decision quickly instead of "anywhere also ok" bouncing back and forth lol.
Well, that's one way to decide. Looks Chinese?
Is that a Shikanoko nokonoko koshitan tan in the background?
Perhaps.
She's blushing!
Lol.
That is indeed what "invisible" means.
Uh oh.
A friend of hers?
Oh, so she works there too.
Lol she realised that.
Seems there's a whole bunch of aliens and creatures about.
Being invisible makes it easy to tail people I guess.
So, an audiobook?
She's bleeding?
Oh, him. That looks like a nasty wound.
So, now she's going to be the one asking him out.
He was going to ask the same thing wasn't he?
Well, close enough.
Soon to be couple huh? Well, at least they're not dancing around that.
I dunno why but this had me dying of laughter. Curious to see where this show goes
