Of course, the real reason I'm staying is because of the funny names, I appreciate that. *And cute girls too.*
I want to see what our heroine can achieve by unleashing the power of dividing by zero.... ;-)
Like was shown here, instead of debuffing her stats and melting her flash the sword buffed her stats for the same values and regenerated her wounds.
Like her gimmick is not even that OP. Yes, cursed items probably have stronger negative effects than similar normal ones have positives, but she has to specifically rely on them as she cannot just train to become stronger. And I don't think you can find cursed items just lying on the ground.
That would be an easy (although obvious) way to pull the big dramatic tide turn in a fight against her old party. She could be dominating, while they think she's turned traitor because nobody had a chance to hear the full story. When they find out her power is a result of reversal, they buff and weaken her. Still in fight mode, nobody calmly talks it through and Jean pushes for a kill.
When they're bad for you, you find one of them in every other treasure chest, but now that she needs them they'll be nowhere to be found
[](#elsieqq)
the sword was an extreme example as it instantly kills the user. It shouldn't be taken as the general rule for a cursed item. Stuff that simple makes you weaker (reduces some stats)
and if there is a vault somewhere with trash cursed items? She can just steal it :D
Which means she now has 995 stats across the board. But is that high or just average? Hopefully we'll find out.
Twice actually. When duchebag mage was holding Flum to the wall he said the Japanese title.
''Now that the distraction is... you'll rightfully be mine. You, a born hero, and me, a sage. Gifted people such as us are meant to be together.''
So yeah to me it seems that his main reason for selling off Flum was because he was jealous rather than how ''useless'' Flum was.
Poor Flum gets repeatedly called trash and treated as such. First half of the episode was not easy to watch with the gore and torture.
But it was justice when Flum got her power back and killed her hideous captor. Would have been better if she bludgeoned him extra for good measure.
Looks like Flum’s affinity is like Pokemon’s Contrary ability.
That handholding in the ED
Blessed with the power of UNO Reverse.
Didn't find it in the ED yet, but the [handholding in the episode itself](https://imgur.com/VUw3zEC) was certainly enough to tell us what kind of anime it is.
(Hitman's favorite)
Yuri femdom?
[](#towel)
[](#shutupandtakemymoney)
But i wonder if it only works on stats? And if then the smartest thing would have been to loot the slave traders body or wherever he was and whatever money or stuff you find sell and get all the cursed items you can find.
Anyway, 📢let’s go lesbians!!📢💃🏾🏳️🌈
Calling someke trash while you have all that bullshit coming out ya mouth, okay.
>Pay for your sins and just **roll over and die**
🫵🏾😮
That was an immaculate hand touching/handholding scene.
I don’t understand. I’m watching the sub. You mean to tell me there is no text overlays when watching the damn sub?
Oh. So we get the sparse “Netflix” overlay. Great.
He was monologuing *aloud* and no one heard his creepshit? Damn. I had thought it was internal.
That was a Shadis jumpscare, good lord.
Well Ms Receptionist, if you’re so worried and care about those two precious lives, maybe give them an actual job request 😒
***
I am always excited for yuri adaptations. The OP was a headbanger. Did not expect metalcore, but I am all for it!
And him stamping it as F is bizarre when most of the guild fantasy stuff I interact with, the jobs are already reviewed for class status and any members are aware of the class when they review available jobs. The job requests are normally stamped for approval rather than for class status, and you need to be admin in some way.
What a funky bureaucratic process to stamp a class only after it’s been picked out and non-admin can do that! What SOP allows this?!
This is how I remember how rule-inconsistency fucks me up and causes me lack of sleep and function. I’d be a *terrible* fantasy artist.
I wouldn’t blame a receptionist for not giving jobs to people they don’t know. That feels like good protocol ✅
She’s hypocritical with her words and actions, I’d say, not working off fear. I’m sure her cruelty is viewed in her perspective as some semblance of kindness. But hearing that her about the loss of two precious lives is a “Girl ✋🏾😒” moment.
But she let em go along with Dein’s nonsense, she feels regret for that, now it’s a matter of what she’ll do next.
Dein and his cronies can roll over and go to HR 😤
Which, in some ways, can be worse than death.
I am hoping that the receptionist will wind up an ally of sorts.
>What a funky bureaucratic process to stamp a class only after it’s been picked out and non-admin can do that! What SOP allows this?!
The scene where he and the other adventurers are laughing about it is narrated to say he colluded with the guild to gain status. So he's got clout with guild leadership and gets to break rules, because they know he's a criminal, but is beneficial to them. It's not SOP at all. He's just able to get away with it.
On the contrary, we even had a scene of a woman begging him that she "will do anything he wants" and he just killed her.
I look forward to seeing Flum show this world she ain’t gonna take the abuse no more.
I hope we get a confrontation this season. I’m sure it’ll be very satisfying seeing him get his comeuppance.
There may be a "HERO hero" but from the subs at least they're all heroes!
That is one unusual affinity. Reckon that's why she was chosen to be a hero though one question remains, which is why she wasn't told of how her affinity could be useful.
Well, from what we know, the only thing the others did was "Agreeing to send a weak adventurer back home". That's not evil, that's not even "wrong", it's just normal!
There are at least two pictures!
Usually they were all guys.
She has all zero stats, except for reversal. So in one way she like Krai, but without the insanely good luck.
I don't watch all of these... in fact I watch almost none of these, but as far as I remember this is a first
I hope that holds for these kinds (tsuihou? is there a name for this "genre"?) of anime as well
However, it turned to be fully dark throughout
I can't believe she didn't kill her entire party and everyone responsible for what they did to her.
This series is 1 episode long, so that's just how it ends I guess?
She killed the ghouls and the slaver.
Who else do you think she should have hacked with her sword in this episode? The guild receptionist who was rude to her?
The guy on the street who lightly bumped into her?
And of course Miku Ito is in a yuri anime.
But yeah everyone else sucked.
You dropped your sunglasses.
(Also, she IS powerful but she simply didn't know it. Her stats simply work differently. To put it this way: It's as if she had an ability that deals 1 billion damage when her stats are low. But she doesn't know how to use it so she just has her low stats).
we saw in the episode the church people saying they were chosen by the god/goddess, and that the MC was from a remote village
[](#delighted)
[Then why did you take her into the party! Baka!](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/907dff7fac8f.png)
[](#punch)
I guess she was 'chosen' and all, [but it was rather obvious she was not hero material!](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/4bc0ff692f94.png)
Also, why can't they ever say "You know, it's just not working out, so we'll split up... Best luck in your next adventure!"
[](#seasonalpout)
[I mean, best case scenario you'll win the fight and be sold into slavery again, but I suppose it's a better life than "getting devoured by ghouls"!](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/1646b86638b4.png)
[At this point I'd just try and grab the sword and throw it at Slaverdude before I die;](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/8a5f6fcaeeb9.png)
Try and get my revenge, at least! (Even if it doesn't cut him, he might just grab it by reflex, and melt down!)
[*This is the moment slaverdude realized he fucked up*](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/b6c6544d2c52.png)
[T-This is when the happy story begins, right?](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/780f6811a820.png)
[Ah, so he lied (saying the group all wanted this)...](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/5ee93f790d71.png)
If the story wants to go REAL dark, she'll kill all her former teammates, even her friends who simply wanted to send her back home!
[Damn, tell me what you really think! (Can we speak to the manager/HR department for a service complaint?)](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/344795d24353.png)
[Oh wow, there's one decent person in the worl- Nevermind.](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/759e2d34900a.png)
She already thought "The whole world wants her dead", and now her last glimmer of hope in humanity will vanish... Will she go fucking berserk?
[](#awe)
Why is she still gullible?
(She's also in enough of a state that she can't pick up on the seemingly harsh suggestion from the lady behind the counter coming from a place of genuine concern either.)
But the funny thing is that Flum didn’t roll over and die, but chose to go down fighting but as it turns out her affinity saved in the end which got her in this mess to begin with.
Normally this kind of premise with being in the Hero’s Party would have me rolling my eyes, but when I saw a girl such as Flum’s design in the anime announcement, I see a girl of determination and that’s what got my eyes on this anime for months before today.
I didn’t expect an intense opening, but it’s getting my blood pumping, and I imagine it as Flum’s fighting spirit in this cruel world.
I like that Flum didn’t leave behind the bandaged girl, but chose to accept being treated as her master in order to take her along. Thankfully so far, Flum doesn’t treat the bandaged girl any differently from a normal person since Flum herself is branded as a slave as well.
I like Flum’s optimism despite how she was treated, it makes her a really likable protagonist for me.
It’s cool that we got a little world building about Districts of this City and the Church in the first episode.
This Dein guy is shifty but what matters is he gave Flum a chance to get a ranking as an adventurer and I’m rooting for Flum to get her desired role in the Adventurers Guild because she and the bandaged girl really needs the money to survive.
But here it’s actually brutal, *straight to slavery* damn.
Like, it's our cute smol girl and a world full of shitty dudes who are gonna screw her over and then she's gonna kill them. I see the vision. But it's such bland execution. Maybe when bandage girl gets actual character development things will become interesting because there will be a buddy cop or romance dynamic? But no signs of that yet.
But oof, that's a world filled with only arseholes?
What I found more baffling is how naive Flum is. She seems quick to learn things, but somehow along the way she didn't learn not to always trust people? That the guild can have bad people? Just how sheltered of a life did she live up until now?
[What's even more interesting is that only one member of the heroes party is a scumbag](https://i.imgur.com/cagSm2h.jpeg) The hero herself actually [regrets kicking out Flum from their party](https://i.imgur.com/bBYHb4v.jpeg), believing that it's for her own good.
And while this also has [the MC taking in a slave trope.](https://i.imgur.com/hRdDPO8.jpeg) This is actually one of the better ones I've seen since the MC herself is also a slave, so it makes sense for her to escape with the only slave left.
Alright, I'll bite. I'll give this one three episodes and see where it goes.
Where as in most of the "kicked from the party" shows they are obviously the most capable.
I don't even know who that is anymore. Was there even a girl there? Huh? Who is Rem?
I think they drugged me or something, I'm addicted.
(And forgot an instruction manual for one of them - Like, if they can name an ability "Reversal", they could've made it a bit more descriptive)
I'm not really feeling this at the moment, there are some interesting parts about it. But with how packed this season is, it's not really a priority to me.
Fantastic, we’re starting in prison with a bunch of monsters, a sword that kills everyone that touches it and a guy who clearly missed his calling to star in ugly bastard NTR hentai. The situation cannot get any better.
So that’s how she ended up in this mess. I bet he’s lying about the party agreeing. He just seems like the type of ass to do that.
Is this really the fucking hero? The world is doomed. Might as well hand itself over to the demon king already cause that party ain’t saving shit.
Humanity is building a city that’s inching ever closer to the domain of this world’s god? *Tower of Babel war flashbacks intensifies.*
Mr slave trader really fucked up, handing a weapon to the one person in the world that can actually use it. Reversal, completely useless except for this exact situation.
The escape commences.
And of course the hero saint guy was lying. Jean, I think that your name, you’re a disgrace to this planet and the title hero and this is the last time I will utter your name out of spite. I pray that Flum stabs your traitorous ass.
Honestly, I was totally expecting the adventures guild to reject their application because “slaves can’t be adventurers” or something along those lines.
Also kind of surprised the topic of sexual slavery took that long to show up, given the level of dark fantasy world we’re dealing with. Seems like the type of thing that would be right up Mr slave trader’s alley.
Of course Dein couldn’t just be a normal helpful guy. That’s not the type of universe we’re living in. And he’s a cheating lying fraud as well, of course. This will come back to bite you, mark my words.
How bad is monster level D? We will probably find out next week. It should be a useful way to gauge what level of paranoia I should be watching this with.
I wonder how long we’re going to be doing the whole “Master” title thing. It’s kind of making any sort of shipping the main couple feel quite questionable and I feel very bad for Milkit and concerned about her state of mind.
The title is way too excessive so for now I’ll just run with “It’s not paranoia if the universe is really out to get you.”
Not even trying a mild buff/debuff spell on her?
I understand not going straight up to cursed items, but come the f* on.
She is a **divinely ordained** hero with zero stats and a specific affinity, it kind of implies that her power lies on the bloody affinity.
At least she got slapped in the face hard enough that two neurons rubbed together.
Loved the episode, the premise feels strangely novel, even if the formula is similar.
I doubt that negative stats are incompatible with life, since her being all zeroes still was a healthy young woman.
Furthermore I find hard to believe that she was never the target of a buff after being with the hero party for as long as she did. It could be the case that only negative effects are reversed, but it doesn't seem consistent.
My biggest complaint about the other kicked-out show this season was how there really was nothing that set it apart from any of the other kicked-out shows.
This show on the other hand already has a couple of things that make it stand out from the rest of the kicked-out crowd.
Her power being something that nobody including the main character herself didn't understand until she was kicked out was interesting. The stakes are also high, not only was she kicked out but sold into slavery which means she actually needs to deal with being left in very dangerous circumstances.
7/10 - A good start, it has potential to be a really good show. The first episode felt too short.
What I mean is that it is really good and so refreshing compared to all the same crap that I really want to see more "now". Definitely the hidden gem of the season for me. Hopefully it stays good.
Healed all his wounds from the zombie things but not the burn from the brand. Sad!
Ok I had a feeling Cyril wasn't actually aware of what glasses guy did with Flum.
This was fucking **awesome**!
She’s such a badass
I'm a bit curious if Flum's eyesight is reversed, there was a brief moment of her looking at Milkit after she grabbed the sword and she was seeing her upside down.
My god that handholding in the episode, they just met and straight to interdigitation.
Flum getting sent out only a suicide quest with an OP sword and buffs from it, she may get the wrong idea about how helpful the dude at the guild was being since it seems likely she'll easily kill the monsters.
...with female MC. Ok this is a must-watch.
Is Flum (Plum?)'s Reversal skill flips the effects she receives or does it just allow her to stat overflow with the 995 reduction? She'd been dead multiple times if healing spells have a negative effect on her.
I can only assume that the hero's party kept her out of any scenarios where she would need healing magic.
Me at OP: Uh, that's gorier than I was expecting.
Uh, did Glasses have to sell her into slavery instead of sending her home? Even just dumping her in town with some money would've been better. Was he short on money? And if he just gets off on this sort of stuff, then why isn't he staying around to witness it? (I know logistics and all, but there's got to be a safer way for him to get his kicks).
So is Reversal some sort of curse-reversal ability, or does the cursed sword interact weirdly with lesbians?
I feel like there's something ironic about a setting that starts with the MC escaping slavery, but she still somehow drags a slave along with her in a master-slave relationship.
Oh, so the rest of the party didn't know, and Glasses was just malding about lesbians. Neat. For a "Sage", he's pretty dumb.
Was one I was looking forward to...I like the darker tone and even though it seems like the character looks into being OP pretty right away, there is a pretty good reason why she wouldn't know her about her issue. Also I will never not approve of a slaver getting his just reward in the first episode.
I get it's a litRPG but I will never not be annoyed when a character just blurts out terms like "stats". Just kills my immersion. Also...wow this had a lot of exposition
Interesting that most of the party had no idea the main character got sold into slavery. Cyril feels guilty but come on...How could anyone in this setting ever think that "being sold into slavery is in her best interest". I think also the fact that the party leader kicked out a girl because he was jealous of the girl he liked is uh...unique? Future Yuri love triangle?
But it does definitely stand out due to the female protagonist, some yuri to spice things up, and some good old fashion gore and body horror
The first episode was pretty decent. Glad they didn't shy away from the gore.
Hmm kind of an interesting choice to keep the dark and brooding atmosphere in the next scene. Inside the church, instead of usually being associated with light or holiness. Here everyone seem to be cowering in the dark with the few lit candles illuminate the priest.
Even if Flum escaped with the mysterious slave, the church and conversely the society itself is portrayed as oppressive and gloomy. Fearing and huddling together against the unknown.
Talk about spirals, double helix, resonance, and unity. A little on the nose, but whatever.
As soon as the pair slaves get under the shade casted by the building, society once again reveals its ugly head. It's kind of surprising, maybe not too surprsing, how open the world is to mistreating slaves in public.
Flum gets angry, but she resigns herself to leaving the scene quietly although obviously frustrated. She is aware how much of a class divide there are between slaves and the common folk.
The idea of Flum's ability being Reversal, is definitely a novel idea. She can use cursed items that would normally a normal person, but is massively buffed herself with the ability. Normally cursed items by themselves are rare and powerful. But there are no demand for them and most adventurer's quickly discard or avoid them entirely.
But on the flip side any normal buffs would probably hurt her. Healing would cause injury, and buffs would turn in debuffs. Although, the idea that all her stats were 0 to begin with, seems to imply something else.
It looks like Jean besides being a despicable bastard, also lied to the other party members about Flum leaving. I guess it's nice knowing not all the other party members were not complete assholes, and there were generally some nice people in the group. Cyrill
I guess it's a reversal in another sense. A female guild receptionist who is unprofessional, rude, and telling our Flum to become a prostitute to earn money. More interesting than most other stories where the female receptionist glazes the protagonist. The receptionist seems to give this "advice" because she is jaded and cynical.
Dein giving the girls a chance and persuading the the receptionist. Of course, that evil smirk, and the receptionist's hesitancy already gives the betrayal away. Of course Dein just take the quest rating stamp and marks it as F rank difficulty. it's a suicide quest to get naive and desperate people killed. Certainly feels like the entire system is lawless in a sense.
Of course, Flum still believing in the goodness of other's heart does not hold doubt that Dein is helping her. She still holds optimism and optimism despite the huge betrayal by Jean, being turned into a slave, and fighting the death just within the same day. Girl got that enduring and endearing trait that makes it hard to dislike her. But how long will that last.
Overall, better than I expected. Definitely a modest production and nothing stands out in terms of direction or animation. I think most people who are fans of gore or yuri will stick with this.
