I like this more than the opening the song is just too good in this one

Gorgeous visuals too! It's nice all the nods to painting between the OP and ED. Not sure how much inspiration Gege derives from classical and post-modern paintings but I know for some like Araki it's a big touchstone.

The OP's always had nice visuals/vibe but I never liked the songs as much.

Following Shouichi's works has been amazing

Gonna be honest not a fan of 2nd half visuals. It's just flipping through pngs repeatedly. Maybe it'll grow on me. I like the nod to the first KV and the best KV of s3 though. I love the music. It's hauntingly beautiful!
Edit: The music is incredible...

I think the unceremonious way it's put together is the point. I find it gives a surreal touch, the images and motions all put together in an unnatural way. I'd interpret it being what Yuji sees in his head. Not literally, but it's a dreamlike almost digital space where Yuji's emotions and images are all collaborated together into a nonsensical space. The images moving past come together in an unnatural way because Yuji's nature is being challenged. Nothing seems right, but it is still beautiful, there's still hope despite the confusion and winding emotions.
gamebond892026-01-09 16:07
That's a nice way of seeing it..
SpadeSage2026-01-08 17:49
Lmao this ED feels like it's straight up bullying poor Yuji.

JJK once again undefeated for OPs and EDs. Just a perfect track record

I wouldnt go that far, it has some great songs but i honestly think both op/ed this season are pretty meh (neither good nor bad), and i HATE you are my special with a passion, one of my most disliked ops of all time (prolly a hot take)
MeanBumblebee39412026-01-09 13:01
It is, but each to their own. I love the weird aesthetic to the new season, the almost manic clashing of styles and vintage-like filtering with traditional art is just really cool. Season 2 was a lot cleaner, more refined and clear. But the linework of the new season and the way it's made is so much more rugged and imprecise. It makes the season feel strange, like a cult classic rather than one of the biggest shonens of the modern day. Also I like the music, makes my brain feel good.

It's great, especially how his life flashes before his eyes as he walks off stage in the second part. The lyrics are also haunting.

This is brilliant for jo0ji's first anime ending ever. The song really fits Yuji's character, sounding simultaneously tired, resilient, reflective, and just plain off.
I would love to go on a music nerd rant about the weird chords and time signature changes, but I'm not going to. Seriously; this is a good piece of music.
The visuals are also neat. It isn't the flashiest, but I think that works better. Yuji simply recollecting everything he has been through will be a nice palette cleanser after the insanity that I presume each episode of Season 3 will be, and remind us that under all of the flashy animation, JJK is a story about people.

Love the song, but lol at the visuals. It looks like they ran out of budget when it comes to the ed.
MeanBumblebee39412026-01-09 13:00
It's an artistic choice, Mappa is the biggest animation studio of the modern day, budget is not an issue. The surreal images and unceremonious way things are put together is the point. I see it as a visualization of Yuji's mind, confusing, unnatural but still beautiful. A torrent of emotions but still with hope.
A1D3M2026-01-09 15:15
This specific artistic choice is called “we ran out of time/money making everything else godlike, so we’ll just stick some pngs in the ending and call it a day”. Just because it’s Mappa doesn’t mean they have infinite resources.
MeanBumblebee39412026-01-10 02:05
What does it matter? You may not like it but just cause it cost less or it took less effort doesn’t mean it isn’t amazing. The zoomed in expression of Yuji with how it’s A PAINTED ANIMATION. Who does that anymore?? The surreal like images, some of which are pixelated to give this strange vintage aesthetic. Just cause something doesn’t take thousands of dollars or hundreds of hours of labor doesn’t mean it’s worthless. It’s not as technically ambitious, but it’s still creative and I think it’s beautiful. Most people wouldn’t have made this, it’s ambitious and weird. Most people would’ve made something more typical for an anime ED or went with just a long ass walk cycle or just made a copy of the OP. But they didn’t, the team is clearly putting their heart and soul to push the aesthetics of this season above season 2. Make something different instead of just repeating what they did.
A1D3M2026-01-10 09:50
I think it just looks like ass, but you do you.
MeanBumblebee39412026-01-15 02:43
Not saying you’re wrong, I just thought it was shortsighted to say “they ran outta budget” when a lot more thought is put into these things. If you don’t like it, well obviously you’re right it’s personal preference. But I like how different it looks.

Song title is **Yoake no Uta** by **jo0ji**. Could be the ED of the season as of now.
