Slunto-Max2026-01-08 18:36

Lmao have you never watched anime before?

kiboshiro2026-01-08 18:38

It was never revealed that the MC is 30? I don‘t know where you pull that information.

NervousSoftware20402026-01-08 18:51

No he is essentially their teacher on a field trip tho

kiboshiro2026-01-08 18:53

And?

ActualRound76992026-01-08 19:48

Yeah, because ther has never in the history of fantasy anime been a “teacher” who was a child or teenager. /s

Geoffk1232026-01-08 19:57

hes just a guy with a bunch of experience adventuring,

based on the flashback it seems like he started at a young age, hes probably like 17 or some shit

GlowTwig2026-01-10 22:04

Being fair to OP, based on the exposition in the start of the first episode, it would not be unreasonable to assume that someone that managed to become S rank would be older than a teenager.

pmmeyourfannie2026-01-08 18:39

She’s flirting with him. He’s oblivious

Disastrous_Bit_98922026-01-15 05:27

He's not really oblivious. He's just not interested.

kanokari2026-01-08 18:41

Is this a bait post? Pretty sure his age was mentioned

NervousSoftware20402026-01-08 18:44

No genuine question. Most of the time it’s obvious if it’s sketchy so I’ll just avoid anime that I don’t like. But I can’t figure this one out and I kinda liked the first two episodes aside from this.

NiceHirthingBips2026-01-09 20:54

Aside from what? Where at in this anime is a 30 year old man going after a 14 year old girl? Either give the proof or stfu and stop being a doofus ya doofus. If you have not seen anything like that in the anime then wtf is there to be sketchy about? Let me ask you a question as your answer will tell us just what kind of intelligence (or lack thereof) you have. What is a woman? Answer the question and don’t try and dodge it by asking me a question without answering mine first. This should be an easy logical question to answer but due to illogical ridiculous ideologies that are spreading like a virus among the younger generations this question is being answered with a completely idiotic delusional illogical answer. Kinda like how a person would ask you 10 years ago “What’s 2+2 equal?” Of course the answer is “4” but now just for hypothetical analogy sake you get the answer “2+2 equals 4 BUT…… can equal 5 sometimes.” That’s a ridiculous illogical answer to that question right? So, What is a woman?

Scottamemnon2026-01-08 18:44

I personally did not see either of them flirting with the other.. just an overprotective older sister assuming that was going on (as an ongoing gag so far).

yaaanR2026-01-08 18:45

Yeah, you sound nuts, I will absolutely be dropping this should your suspicions be accurate, but I have no idea how you read that main character as anything over 20, nor do I read him as romancing the obviously crushing on him younger character. I read him as being between the ages of the girl and her sister, and don't know how you could read the older sister as that old either despite her leadership position. I don't think you've ever met a 30 year old.

NiceHirthingBips2026-01-09 20:44

🎯

Geoffk1232026-01-08 18:48

I don't think his age was ever mentioned nor Did he come across as 30 to me.

It's not exactly an uncommon thing to see an anime character who looks older than they are.

Ive been watching Blue Box and one of the guys from the opposing highschool looks like he has 3 kids and a mortgage

ActualRound76992026-01-08 19:49

reminds me of that “kid” in Anya’s school in spy family lookin like he works the mines every day 😂

Helpful_Bison_78822026-01-10 01:57

orhun is 18, the manga says it

Acrobatic_Egg302026-01-08 18:48

If you see a 14 year old girl crushing on an older man as the man flirting with her instead then I worry for your male friends. I'll never want to be friends with people who throw these dangerous accusations around like words don't have meaning. Also, have you watched the show? Show me where the MC is flirting with this girl and I'll tell you why he's doing it.

JamesSomdet2026-01-08 18:51

Hahahaha Westerners are so soft about silly stuff like this. There will be A LOT MORE of this throughout the show so if it triggers you best to stop watching now.

Livid_Thing49692026-01-09 22:23

Except. He isn't 30 he is 18.

Halsti2026-01-08 18:54

Is this like your first time watching slop anime?

The MC being surrounded by a Harem of Girlies that all fall for him is a trope thats way too frequent.

At least in this one, the MC seems to just be nice... For now.

NervousSoftware20402026-01-08 19:00

That's fair, it just seems weird how its no reaction when all these other WOMEN are almost throwing themselves at him but when a young girl says something to him he's blushing all the time.

Livid_Thing49692026-01-09 22:22

I think mainly that it is due to him knowing the other women and he knows that they know him, so he thinks that they are 'Just being nice' whenever they compliment him or 'throw themselves at him' while a young innocent person who has no idea who you are looking up to you when you have low to no selfesteem can be very emotionally overwhelming. I personally know that feeling as an adult who have had a very bad self esteem, but work with a lot of kids and teenagers, and the trust they put in me and the way they look up to me is so unbelievable to the younger me to the degree that it sometimes almost makes me tear up with joy.

It absolutly doesn't have to be because one is interested that one blushes, just that one might feel embarasment due to not feeling worthy of the praise.

shirts212026-01-08 18:56

was this written by Selma? good lord.
he complimented her once. a compliment is not flirting.

now is Sophia crushing on him yes. but he either ignores it or oblivious to it.

you want to about a dubious anime "An Adventures daily Griding at age 29" now that is on a razor edge of wtf is gonna happen next and has a good chance of me dropping it.

TheBatemanFlex2026-01-08 19:01

Now I wanna watch this just to see how delusional OP is.

Helpful_Bison_78822026-01-10 01:56

he aint THAT op. i mean, he's op but not exagerated, like the name says, he's a jack of all trades but people can overpower him in specific areas so it's balanced

Same-Boat-33212026-01-10 02:18

💀

cpcpcpppppp2026-01-10 16:29

You read that wrong my brother, not overpowered 😭

Thanatofobia2026-01-08 19:47

His actual age is never given, but its estimated to be late teens/early 20. So no idea where you got that he's 30.

SHE is flirting with him in a awkward, inexperienced way. She has a teenage crush on the man that suavely *saved her life.*

HE sees her as the little sister of the 2nd in command of a HUGE guild.
He also only accepted her offer for dinner because she *insisted* on repaying him.

ActualRound76992026-01-08 20:01

if anything he’s much more interested in some way with the older sister due to her reputation as a mage

fridaynightbacon2026-01-09 16:46

I read the manga and in chapter 18 he said he's 18

ActualRound76992026-01-08 19:48

You are fighting a battle that doesn’t exist. So like, why actively create the issue?

* Even in the manga from what I’m seeing, there’s no confirmation on his exact age, most speculation is in his teens or early twenties.
* Secondly, the 14 year old is smitten with him, not the other way around. He is obviously oblivious and if anything is smitten with her older sister
* Third, it’s a fantasy dungeon crawler anime, why would you try and apply real world anything to it? Are you actually just trying to find reasons to hate it?

If you’re gonna create these hills just to dislike an anime, then don’t waste your time on it.

Outrageous_Smoke70772026-01-15 15:09

It specifically states he's 18 when he is having the meeting with the other guild execs

Peacemkr452026-01-08 23:03

It's anime. Tell yourself she's actually 947 years old with a furry fetish.

Warm_Stand_6272026-01-09 08:17

The mc is 18 \~chapter 30 something, the girl is turning 15 the same year, becoming 'legal' in a conversation about alcohol later in the manga.

Cute-Recognition15972026-01-10 00:38

Putting legal in quotations doesn’t make your argument any better. Dude 14 is a literal child

Iamsalsharo2026-01-10 04:01

If it was even real stop doing this shit

ejniss2026-01-09 09:23

In the manga is revealed he is 18. Literally first chapter.

Connect_Welder41842026-01-09 12:36

People like you need to get off the internet and stop assuming. Especially if its not even hentai that actually has those, if it irks you just go find another anime. In the manga he was mentioned to be 18.

In the first 2 episodes they never mentioned the MC's age, AND he wasnt flirty in the first place, but he is oblivious to the younger sister being smitten. A common anime trope for a long time.

All in all your overreaction was unecessary just go straight to the point and ask your question it just makes you look your typical westerner that virtue signals on fictional content than actually contribute against CSEM

Livid_Thing49692026-01-09 22:24

from what I can see in looking up the manga he is like 18

Crossx19932026-01-09 17:50

is this your first time watching or reading anime/manga? mc with that appearence are usually 16-20, in the manga he's 18 so it's not "wildly older" especially since she turn 15 around chap 30 . btw don't be surprised if a romance happen later down the road.

Livid_Thing49692026-01-09 22:25

Exactly. it always bothers me as a teacher how they always make 9-11 year olds look like 14-16 year olds and 16-22 year olds look like 28-32 year olds xD

Helpful_Bison_78822026-01-10 01:55

he's 18 and she's flirting with him, i am reading the manga and it says it in a chapter

KingKushtah2026-01-11 08:26

Okay since I saw this yesterday and being impatient I read the manga. The mc is 18. He says it on page 32 of chapter 18. You are welcome.

anhhui22026-01-11 10:15

He's 18. What are you on about him being wildly older?

Lomlmiyuki2026-01-11 20:42

He’s 18. The manga states it later on

Fantastic_Purchase782026-01-13 06:17

He’s 18

Humb3l2026-01-14 21:16

Also why is there a scene of 2 underage girls in the shower in ep. 3?

Bergieexclamationpt2026-01-14 21:17

He's not flirting with her, and it's not weird for a younger girl to have a crush -- BUT it is really fucking weird how much time they spend on that gag, even getting the older sister involved in it, like he's in some sort of love triangle with them. It's also really weird how they sexualize the younger sister and the other young girls in it. When they introduce Party 10's "defender" in ep 2, they make a point of showcasing how big her tits are and that she doesn't wear any armor as a defender for some fucking reason. Like, it's a whole plot point.

Idk man, it was an interesting concept for an anime but this shit's gettin a lil weird for me.

NervousSoftware20402026-01-15 02:42

Ya shower scene in latest episode was too much. I’m dropping this one.

Fun_Date1002026-01-15 18:01

Welcome to Japan land of supressed sexual sin where the fiction frequently involves cousin/sibling romances, underaged romances, inter species romances and giant harems with everything mixed together like a pick and mix that 99% of the main characters are to shy to help themselves to so nothing ever happens anyway.

Plane-Tie-99942026-01-15 05:46

There is absolutely nothing ridiculous or stupid about this question so I don’t know wtf everyone else’s problem is. I literally googled whether or not the show had any “weird loli” in it and your post was the first thing that came up. I’m picking up the EXACT same signals you are. The blushing, way they’re weirdly focusing on hers and his interactions- I don’t like it. I’m not phased by you calling him 30, it was clearly an exaggeration and people on Reddit love being dense as if they don’t know that pedophilia in anime is a problem. This entire post is valid, thank you for asking the question.

Maleficent_Gap33072026-01-15 07:18

100% agree and anyone who disagrees is part of the problem

NervousSoftware20402026-01-15 16:19

Ya I was confused as to why I couldn’t find any discussion on the topic. So my somewhat dumb self asked the question and I received so many downvotes that I can’t post in this community anymore.

Plane-Tie-99942026-01-15 16:24

You’re not dumb, they’re fucking weird. They know pedophilia in anime is a problem and acted like you were being ridiculous. The fact that you got downvoted but a comment saying that “western people are too uptight” about pedophilia is fucking disgusting. Weird ass subreddit. You’re normal, they’re strange.

NervousSoftware20402026-01-15 06:23

So I made a post last week asking for help in regards to this show and because I never read the manga, and had only watched the first 2 episodes. So I guessed the age of the S ranked, world renowned, already peaked and needing to reimagine himself MC to be 30. I was wrong. Manga says he's 18. (Which, lets be honest here, that makes no sense. If the MC and other characters are around 18, where are the adults?) However there's this constant creepy gag about him wanting to go out with the 14yr old girl he saves.

So for my first ever reddit post, i ask reddit for help. is this show gonna stay creepy or does it get better? I was called delusional, stupid and was told i was creating a problem where there was none. I felt bad, aside from the creepiness i liked the anime and i didn't want to cause problems if it was just a stupid gag.

Fast forward to today and I'm dropping this show after the shower scene with the 14 yr old girls episode 3. How is that OK? Can they even put that in a show? I get that its animation but they're depicting 14 yr olds. Why would you defend that?

Mediocre_Parfait_1282026-01-15 13:04

Only reason I find it hard to watch is how useless his ability to use enchants while swordfighting. He has no edge in battle? He's just as strong as a swordsman who has an enchanted in his party. The writing makes no sense.
