What are the worst villains in anime?
By worst I don't mean the most evil, but the ones that are just badly written. Like villains with very weak motives and ideologies or that their impact in the story makes the whole thing worse. Maybe thoses villains too who didn't get a satisfying resolution either. It may be not the worst but the main villain from the first season of Ranking of kings come to mind.

Honestly, I think whoever wrote it cared more about the size of the female characters boobs than the motivations of the villains. The boobs definitely had more screen time
They're so incomprehensibly stupid that it just feels contrived. They feel like Saturday morning cartoon Villains but the show is trying to be serious.
Every villain between season 1 2nd half and the end of the story was horrible.
That was the one slightest shred of emotion or tension I felt watching. Everything else was utterly worthless
The one whose name is like Arifurta: from weakest to worlds strongest is the most comically over the top trash its kind of impressive.
"You guys ridiculed me for being useless but now I have an eyepatch and a motorcycle and a gun and a loli vampire girlfriend and an ever growing harem!"
The first one (to actually have "kicked out of the party" in the title) was about crutch characters who start out strong but get powercrept in lategame, the guy leaves the heroes party on more or less good terms and its shown to be objectively the right choice. No revenge occurred and you might even feel sorry for the heroes party that they have to go on an unpleasant adventure instead of living a good life.
Then the ripoffs came.
Likely the author didn't know what to do with the premise beyond flashy fights, because of how the source ended [Manga spoilers]>!on a open ended "fighting life goes on" note.!<

and [Kaiju no 8]>!not jus a mini boss" tells someone who saw the first few episodes of season 2 that there is not much *beyond* him!<
On /r/anime, spoiler tags look like this `[show name]>!spoiler goes here!<`, which produces [show name]>!spoiler goes here!<. And note, you must include the context with the square brackets exactly as shown (no matter how obvious the human context is), or else the bot won't understand and will remove your comment.

1. [Yu-Gi-Oh Arc-V] >!His goal is to merge the 4 dimensions into the original 1 and to prevent the Devil Duelist Zarc, a man who fused himself with four of his dragons to become an giant dragon hell bent on destroying the world, by committing interdimensional genocide. In order to return the world to its original state, he needs vast amounts of lifeforce. He achieves this by invading other dimensions, turning people into cards, and throws them into his machine. You may not think this is a bad thing since the charcters can, and do, come back to life but this man still ordered teenagers to invade other dimensions and to primarily, turn people into cards, but you also see buildings getting destroyed and an entire city laid to waste since the monsters are real for the most part. So for sure there have many people in his invasions that did not get turned to cards but instead died for real, running counterintuitively to his goal.!<
2.[Yu-Gi-Oh Arc-V] >!He recognizes that the protagonist Yuya and his dimensional counterparts are fragments of Zarc's soul, and if they are in close contact, develop an urge to become one leading to Zarc's revival. Leo then devises a plan to straight up kill Yuya if he stands in his way. He never does this by the way. Yuya discovers the plan and nothing really comes of it. Even if Leo did realize that he could just kill one of Zarc's fragments, then he should have just killed Yuri, the boy he raised at a young age to be the best soldier. Also, if Leo knows that Yuri is a fragment of Zarc, then why in the world did he train him to be the best duelist in his army? Not only that but he sends Yuri to other dimensions where he has the chance to meet his counterparts and merge with them being one step closer to becoming Zarc.!<
3. [Yu-Gi-Oh Arc-V] >!Leo also reveals that he's doing this to revive his dead daughter who gave her life to defeat Zarc. Hes really upset by this to the point he tells the main charcters how kind she was and how she didnt deserve to die. So naturally he spits on her death by committing genocide in her name. Not only that but he abandoned his new family in the new world after he regained his memories and left the standard dimension to go to the fusion dimension and didn't even say a word to his wife or son to where he was going. But him being a complete dickhead doesn't stop there because just like Zarc, his daughter's soul was split into into four fragments, intact it was their duel that split the world is to four. When he went to the fusion dimension to raise his army, he met his daughter's fragment and trained her into a soldier and later threw the other fragments into his machine to drain their lifeforce once they served their purpose, killing them. He does acknowledge that those girls do have his daughter's soul inside them but he doesn't care because he views the new world as a fake one, despite many objections to his point of view.!<
This man was built up as an intimidating villain for over 100 episodes but once he actually gets screentime you see how much he sucks as a character. Dude is the main villain for the majority of the series but only has two duels. One that is unfinished and one that ends in his loss. [Yu-Gi-Oh Arc-V] >!After Zarc is revived, because of Leo by the way, he duels him and, I kid you not, he gets one shotted in less than a full turn after saying he's the only who could defeat Zarc since he built a deck specifically to counter him.!< Dude is called The Professor but is the stupidest villain in Yu-Gi-Oh maybe all of anime.
Main antagonist from ReCreators (absurdly overpowered just for the sake of it and with pretty dumb motivation).
Outside that, "Oberon" from SAO was needlessly rape-y. Authors who don't know how to write evil just resort to sexual assault and it makes me roll my eyes every time. There's a place to write in rape and such, but most of the time the execution is simply not it. On a bit more personal note, I dislike how every demon in Demon Slayer has to have a tragic backstory. Fucks the pacing of the show too, imo.
Agree that Muzan kinda sucks

Tanjiro going "Damn bro that's sad but I gotta stand in business" and then just murdering them is kinda funny
i also count fairy tail in here, even tho that one does have a couple villains that are actually well written, but a lot of them are just using the same template with a different face put onto them.
I shall not elaborate.
I know it's not the worst written villain, but it's the worst villain for me personally because I'd invested so much time into the anime at that point
He was a little bitch who got pushed around, when Ai got tired of him trauma dumping and yapping and left he went mad and hired a stalker to kill her and then kills any woman who is about to be as famous as her.
It was some serious heavy plot stuff because someone as ugly and pathetic as Hikaru would just be scrubbing gum off desks.
Jokes aside...his backstory, motives amd èverything suck and he is a wimp while his son is a simp. Gooner genes fr.
