My Thoughts on My Gift Lvl 9999 Unlimited Gatcha: Backstabbed in a Backwater Dungeon I'm Out For Revenge
Stop me if you've heard this before. A dude seems weak and useless and is betrayed by his party but then it's found out that he's the stronges tof them all, he joins another party, has dozens of women fawning over him. At this point I've seen so many I could probably write one of these literally in my sleep. The only thing in this that I haven't seen in every anime like it is that the protagonist actually seeks revenge for his unjustified betrayal. It's not completely new because I'm pretty sure Arifureta had something similar, but it was still something. And he does get that revenge over the course of the series. But I still just can't get passed the boring, tired cliches, that were probably never good even when they were created but at least they were new at the time. There's been so many of them that I'm starting to forget what their origins even were. I hate this so much. There's several plot holes within the first few episodes alone. Like the party that betrayed him claimed at first they wanted to end discrimination, but then kicked him out of the party and tried to end him because he was a human. And while yes, hypocricy does exist, the story doesn't go in any depth with that at all. Also a couple episodes later one of his new followers, the maid, says that he's a member of royalty to the wolf guy before ending him, and after ending him he climbs up these stairs and sits on a throne, but fi he's royalty why was he in an adventure's party and why didn't he go back to them after being exiled from the party. And in the very next episode there's no signs of his royal heratige again. It's like the author was just throwing random crap at the wall without determining how it could fit together and then forgetting about it immediately afterwards.

His vengeful desires come across as petty and childish and the "story" turns into torture porn, but the soundtrack is phenomenal.
The maid lied about him being from royalty so the wolf will have an incentive to help her, catching him in the trap.
These aren't plot holes, though this doesn't salvage the show from being another revenge fantasy... though, I will say it was quite fun to see someone actually getting on with the revenge plan without waiting for episode 12 or not even getting it. That's thanks to the timeskip in the second episode, and without it I would have probably rated it worse. I also quite enjoyed the fact that his party wasn't another 100% generic female harem and instead only like 80%.
With this in mind, I placed it on the higher end of this slop of a sub-genre...
Even in the anime they all feel a lot more genuine compared to what you would usually find in characters like them. Each of the level 9999s have a very specific role for Light.
It was and is extremely popular but it's hard to replicate.
