It was a pretty weird choice for opening scene.
Doesn't move me at all but i know there are people who are sensitive to such scenes and other that might actually get a panic attack from it due to past trauma.

its a pretty standard choice for an opening scene if they want to show how barbaric the world is early on.
if people are sensitive to that sort of thing then maybe they shouldn’t go in blind. they could make friends who watch anime and ask them if theres any of the content they are concerned with. especially if it can cause a panic attack.

Out of all the anime i've seen, i remember only this one that starts with a scene like that.
Fucking weird that i get downvotes on my comment, the episode didn't even have any disclaimer at the start.
And i'd say when it comes to this anime, that kind of stuff is not very common thing being shown or even generally mentioned, when compared to Goblin Slayer for example.

i don’t think spoiling a upcoming scene for thousands just so a few people who are offended by the scene can avoid it is worth doing.
they should take precautions instead of going in blind. in a world with artistic freedom its up to the viewer to protect themselves not the artist.

"This series contains scenes that some people might find disturbing" or something along those lines is what they usually say, even this show had that on episode 2, same with Goblin Slayer.
But i think the whole point of in this is that the scene had absolutley nothing to do with the general feel or plot with rest of the show.

Damm animation studio degraded from Studio KAI x HORNETS to a support studio named Aura Studio and this is their first full anime project. From KeyFrameStaffList we can see that Aura studio has mainly worked on 3DCG animation, and only worked on 3EP of 2D anime.

That doesn't really have any real effect on if an anime is going to get more content or not. It's more about who has the money to put in and wants to, and when a studio is available to make it after that point.

The majority of studio's don't really get the luxury of picking and choosing to any great degree. They typically are forced to take on multiple overlapping contracts at time as well due to how little money they're offered to make them. It's the people with the money you want to direct your anger at, and that isn't typically the studio. They're just a contractor in this process.
