Best English Dubs in Recent years?
It's interesting how I started Anime back in the day with all dub then slowly shifted to mostly sub. These days I watch dubs less frequently. I usually watch them if they fit the setting or if they're really good. I recently finished Gachiakuta and I feel it's one of those shows where the dub is actually better than the sub. You get your standard performance from the sub. Nothing bad. However the dub was just great. It had much more flavour to it. They use slangs, trashy puns and other variations. Everyone has much more life and identity to them. I heard people saying Jabber's VA is much better and they were right. He seems to be having a lot of fun voice acting. Zodyl is probably my favourite. He sounds menacing and cold. He just has a great voice. His Sub counterpart was fantastic as well. Rudo sounds great too. Overall it was a fun package. It reminded me of early dubs like Black Lagoon, Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, NGE etc.
Some shows that I think had great dubs in recent years would be:
* Cyberpunk Edgerunners
* My Hero Academia
* Chainsaw Man
* Dandadan
* Pluto
* Solo Leveling
What're some other shows that have great dubs in the last 5 years or so?

Edit: I will say that scripts that change quite a bit were something like Sk8 the infinity, though I think it worked out pretty well for that show
The english dub was also handled directly by CD project red, the games dev, even including some voices actors from the game, its also a western setting, so the western dub generally fits the world more.
I find this for allot of shows that are more set in the west (though not all), I think vinland saga the sub is better despite it being set in the west, but a show like Baccano is spot on and amazing for a western dub with the accents and such.
For an example the two that came to mind are Nekopara and Fragrant Flowers off the top of my head.
I appreciate how they handled the last 2 episodes, and I'd be so happy if they did a season 2 (at least cover Volume 4 and the battles in volume 5 and 6)
My favorite performance of last year was Emi Lo as Mao Mao in Apothecary Diaries. Funny enough, you wouldn’t think it by watching a clip or two, since Mao Mao is so deadpan most of the time.
with most anime I would just switch to sub if they stopped the dub but with Spice and Wolf I couldn't enjoy it without Brina and J Michael, I would just read the books/ listen to audiobooks instead.
I do wonder if thats not about to get worse again though, at least for a while. With some companies eyeing full AI generated dubs it does not give me hope.
Standout performances for Jiji, Turbo Granny, Momo, and I really like Momo's friends voices too. But there is not a single weak performance in the whole show.
I usually watch the first episode each way to decide, but like 2 minutes into the dub I already knew which I was gonna prefer lol. Momo’s voice actress was fantastic.
Brina Palencia and J Michael are some of the finest talents around
Brina's performance of Holo is simply enchanting
Blood +
Dungeon Meshi
Frieren
The First Slam Dunk
A Place Further Than the Universe.
The only iffy one has been Fragrant Flower, and I'm pretty sure everyone came to a similar conclusion on that one. Everything else, from Cowboy Bebop to the latest season of Spy X Family, has been absolutely brilliant!
