Anyone Got Any Recommendations?

Hello! I am very new to anime I just started watching this year. My whole life I thought I hated all anime,when I finally watched Death Note I fell in love with it and began craving more. I’m not into super over the top corny stuff so most Anime doesn’t do it for me. Any suggestions? It doesn’t have to be realistic per se just grounded and thought provoking. Here’s what I’ve enjoyed so far:

I think you like more of the seinen psychological deeper stuff. I would recommend vinland saga or rainbow. I would say these are pretty thought provoking 😀

what's wrong with all the shows you dislike?. Did you watch them dubbed or something?. Attack on Titan is one of the most amazing shows ever with most beautiful soundtrack you will ever hear. Dropping that should be a crime.

Nothing is wrong per se just not a fan of anything about those shows tbh bro. It’s just the way they come off very immature and campy or over the top.Attack on titan is the only one I listed I consider mature enough for me to enjoy but idk man just not really my thing at all maybe I can give it another try I definitely don’t dislike it as much as everything else I listen which ik for a fact I could never get into

it turns into exactly what you want as the show goes on, i would suggest powering through the early parts you won’t regret it. otherwise:

steins gate, fate zero, full metal alchemist brotherhood are all really good, well written and thought provoking

I recommend FMA 2003 as well. I love them both and feel each has what the other lacks. Brotherhood is the manga experience and is more of a traditional shonen with the amazing fights. 2003 is more of a seinen, focusing more on character development and the consequences. Brotherhood is future focused. 2003 is past focused.

Thanks for answering honestly, I think some misunderstood and thought I was asking in a condescending way but I wasn't. I was just legit curious.

I get what you mean. A lot of older anime like Naruto or One Piece. They start off as real slipstick-ish before they get darker. Naruto has some really awkward toilet humor early on. But it does get really cool later on (though I loved Naruto from the beginning cause I always related to the main character).

One Piece I swore off it for so long because it looked so silly. It does have it's silly humor for sure but holly fuck no one prepared me for just how fucking sad that show gets lmao.

Attack on titan is the closest thing to death note imo. Maybe keep watching it a little longer

Nah I think the closest would be Monster it’s much more grounded and I love it. Attack on titan is pretty much nothing like Death Note imo.

Attack on titan has a Lot of world building, but it does get super interesting more so in later seasons (however i did get into it around E3-E5)

You could also try Code Geass, it might be too campy but it's a classic and still has a lot of the aspects you like I'd say

AOT is one of the if not the most thought provoking anime ever made.

Seems like you like some thriller and psychological type of shows. I’d highly recommend any of the following.
Death Parade, Puella Magic Madoka Magica, Summertime Rendering, When They Cry, Paranoia Agent.

Sense no one else has said it, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex. Both seasons are top tier, imo
