I dont know what this is... but the animation. That is crisp movement; unlike some other anime...looking at you OPM....
thisisdropd2026-01-10 01:31
It got shafted hard. JC Staff has Tamon’s B-Side this season and that one has excellent production.
PeaceAlien2026-01-10 01:34
JC Staff had some great stuff, like railgun. They don’t seem to care about OPM
PumaXAshes2026-01-10 01:50
Whole team was cooked when they were told to animate an action heavy show, make it look like s1 and then have it done in 7 months. Idk man that shit ain't happening
qef152026-01-10 02:02
And even better studios struggle with it. Notably Studio Bind.
Mushoku Tensei is known to be on a horrible schedule (1 year for S2) and it got hit pretty hard.
Meanwhile, the same studio puts out Onimai and Ruri Rocks and both got 2 year schedules. Both anime are some of the most polished CGDCT I have ever seen (which says a lot considering the high standard in that genre).
7 months for a more or less middle-of-the-road studio for an action heavy show is just bound to be this shit.
PumaXAshes2026-01-10 02:12
Its funny you say that the team in charge of opm s3 was the least experienced with action animation lol. They had a handful of well known and very good action animators but they can't do all of it so it turned out the way it did. People always forget or maybe never even knew that s1 was a miracle of a production with some of the biggest industry names most of which did not work strictly for madhouse. People throw comparisons at jjk s2 but that production, again, had way more insane action animators and a lot of them were freelancers. It's tough out here working on anime ong.
duncandun2026-01-10 01:59
Eh they weren’t paid enough to care about it you mean. The production committee is the one calling the shots.

Yeah I have no idea what this is about but im going to watch it simply because the animation is so good
mastesargent2026-01-10 05:15
Just keep in mind that this scene isn’t really representative of how the anime normally looks. That’s not to say that the series is bad-looking by any means, it’s just tvat this scene was basically over-animated as part of the joke.
Ordinal43NotFound2026-01-10 02:10
One Punch Man fans not bringing up their series whenever seeing a good animation challenge
redlegsfan212026-01-10 05:02
OPM S3 is almost the gold standard of how not to do animation. I've seen plenty of poorly animated shows but the lack of care put into it is just sad. You can compare a show like Kemono Friends to OPM and despite the poor animation quality in both, you can tell there was love and care put into Kemono Friends. OPM also had a big enough audience that it's easy to joke about that others will get it.
Fake_William_Shatner2026-01-10 02:15
Everyone criticizing OPM is making them too gun shy to produce episodes.
“Why did it take you 5 years for one season?”
‘Fans made better fight scenes and…. they were mean to us.’
Xpolonia2026-01-10 03:45
From a [tweet](https://x.com/Hh3Ks/status/2006851866706227485) of the animator for this scene it had 150 keyframes.
mastesargent2026-01-10 05:12
To be fair, this scene cranked up the animation to 11 for the sake of the bit. Kaguya-sama has pretty good production value but this isn’t really representative of the average scene/episode.
mickergarratt2026-01-10 05:21
Part of A1’s strength with this series was knowing how to save their budget for great moments
darthsurfer2026-01-10 09:03
Also how to make full use of the show's own quirkiness to save animation while not making it look bad or out of place.

Jauretche2026-01-10 03:44
Dividing by 140 is hell, but there's a little trick. If you divide by 100 you can subtract 30% (about one third) and it's about the same. Pretty good for a ballpark estimate.
niteman5552026-01-10 06:33
Since it's 8k -> 5k, it's even easier to think of the fibonacci sequence.

Japan cost of living is lower, that's a month worth of salary in 30 seconds.
Edit: month
kekehippo2026-01-10 02:42
Average salary is approx 35,000 - 42,000. Either way, it's a significant amount especially if you're as poor as the Shirogane's.
kimi_rules2026-01-10 02:45
Sorry I meant month
SurreptitiousSyrup2026-01-10 02:43
The median income in Japan is [¥3.96 million](https://blog.gaijinpot.com/what-is-the-average-salary-in-japan/). Which is about $25,313 USD. $5,000 USD isn't close to a years salary.
kimi_rules2026-01-10 02:45
I meant month, fixed the comment
DirCurrFluxCapacitor2026-01-10 06:37

This is actual streamer culture. Its basically a no-go to ask for money and if someone sends money you either need to thank them or (what a lot of streamers do) is this. You ask them to reconsider sending money and ironically that usually makes people want to spend

Ginger_Fluffr2026-01-10 06:17

DirCurrFluxCapacitor2026-01-10 06:36
Biggest in audience or earnings? They are not mutually inclusive.
YellowAppleCinema2026-01-10 11:33
OP literally posted a perfect example of what you just said, too.
The OP is a meme joke that highlights how a girl simply has to exist in front of the webcam, and gets an endless stream of money for it.
Male streamers in the meantime tend to have a bigger audience because they are by design forced to put way more effort into what they do, and in return, they get rewarded with a bigger audience.
Leinadddp782026-01-10 16:36
Mejor manera de explicarlo, imposible
Komorebi_LJP2026-01-11 00:42
Some of the most watched male streamers on twitch put in no effort like Asmongold, just spew hateful nonesense and become big. Have you seen how filthy that guy lives
MentalNinjas2026-01-10 06:49
Because the guys have actual content lmao.
Gooners are a minority, regular people wanting good entertainment are the majority.
Destinum2026-01-10 07:51
Because male streamers can get views regardless of their looks like the one you replied to said?
Sweaty-Pen-22232026-01-10 07:53
You will be astounded as to how many women spend money on these streaming platforms
Unsub_Then_Dip_Shit2026-01-10 09:48
It's cause most of the popular male streamers have a wide set of personalities that fit dif demographics and they're carried heavily by their personality rather than looks. This creates a more firm and lasting community (albeit sometimes unhinged) but might not translate well for revenue generations via supas but mostly through ad revenue and sponsors.
You can be cringe and make over-the-top reactions to appeal to the younger generation. You can go full political mode and make heavy leaning takes to appeal to certain net-izens on the web.
Female streamers can also do everything above but they also benefit off of the whole concept of parasocial relationships. Whether they lean heavily into that or just stream being themselves, it's easier for male streamers to fall into that trap and then start dono-ing to try and garner attention.
In the animal kingdom, it's like a buncha peacocks trying to attract a female mate but instead of showing off a more beautiful flock of feathers, they throw a lot of money around with various funny comments.
pikkuhukka2026-01-10 11:25
i saw asmongold in this text
Earlier-Today2026-01-10 15:32
Just to put things into better perspective, that 50,000 yen is about $300.

Of course, sometimes I don't blame people that is too poor to afford all of these requirements or just have tragic genetic problem but for people that can afford merchandise and game console, you can actually afford these if you has proper money management

I always pay attention to good sound design ever since Bakemonogatari episode 1 when I realized they made Araragi sound different when he speaks in first person vs hearing him from Hanekawa's POV.
And I'm not talking about his narration, they literally made his voice as if it reverberates through our own skull when we're in his POV talking to Hanekawa (the very scene that's referenced in Kaguya-sama too!)
That's when I realized how much love went into these things people barely noticed.
Zeallfnonex2026-01-10 02:37
