Not half bad. Nice bit of action in this premiere ep with a dash of gore. I also like the whole “yakuza demon lords”thing, it’s pretty interesting.

From the author of *Sentenced to Be a Hero* and they both involve Demon Lords of some kind.

I like the character design, particularly the colour scheme, of Aki, . She can be both cute and serious. And something about Aki wielding a simple sword and wooden shield, akin to a hero or adventurer just venturing out, makes me want to root for her development.

This was a fun one, good premiere, introduces the characters well and the premise is interesting. excited to see how it progresses.

Fun start and it's confirmed to be a 2-cour, looks like Saturdays won't be as barren as expected.

Though if I had to pick one show that really needed a double episode this season and didn't get one it'd be this.

its giving vibes of detectives these days are crazy, old "professional" and young apprentice who forces its way into poor guy life :D

So the government is [raising a bunch of kids to basically become state-sanctioned assassins?](https://i.imgur.com/rPbP2I1.jpeg) And they're all girls too because apparently women have more ether than men. They sound like a magic version of Lycoris. xD

It's hilarious [how they're even taking bets on what happens to Yashiro.](https://i.imgur.com/tXGQKSb.jpeg) That green-suited dude is definitely gonna lose some money next episode.

Considering this is from the same author as Sentenced to be a Hero, I was already interested, and from what I've seen today, I think I'm sold! Sentenced to be a Hero is more dark and gritty, while this one is more light-hearted and comedic. So it's gonna be fun to see two different sides of Rocket-sensei this season.

That was quite good. I liked the dynamic between our overenthusiastic Magical Girl and the cynical old down on his luck veteran fighter straight out of a Noir Movie, both of whom are apparently actually living in a battle shonen world fighting against magic-wielding yakuza. That mix of genres seems like it should be fun to watch.

I doubt the Magical Girl can actually pay him, so I expect that she will be stuck working as his assistant until she can (assuming they manage to save her friend), like some more serious version of Detectives These Days Are Crazy.

Fun enough first episode, I'm glad I picked this up on a whim when I saw how dead the Saturday schedule was.

Aki is great, genki school girl with a sword and buckler is something I didn't know that I needed.

Quite the slow paced start, hope people give it a chance!

Pretty weak first episode. After seeing the preview for the next one, they really should've aired them together. I understand that a lot of people hate the double or triple- ength premiere, but this one definitely needed it.

Yashiro is broke, kills the bad guys and needs his new sidekick to pay him, he is the opposite of batman.

Great first episode and it definitely has me intrigued. I do feel it would've been better if this was a 2-episode premiere since I kinda wanted to see the fight and the episode just ended after the buildup to it.

The character designs stood out to me, especially Aki’s. Her look fits her personality well and contrasts nicely with Yashiro, which helps sell their dynamic early on.

Interactions and plot seems similar to shows like Bungo stray dogs, should be a pretty fun watch. Did really well to show that the old guys have been conditioned to be more ruthless then the new kids.

This author guy really seems to be into the “What if demon lord fantasy but” genre.

This man is never going to hear the end of him becoming a hero teacher for bunch of brats from his buddies. This will haunt him ‘til the day he dies.

I didn’t quite expect Yashiro to just stomp this goon’s head into a fine paste.

In contrast to this grim world, we got a female lead with a very colourful personality. It honestly makes me wonder why she chose for all this violence in the first place. Is Aki just a little naive?

Jougamine seems like she can read Yashiro, I wonder if that has to do with her ability or with whatever was teased in the ED.

Ishino looks like someone that will betray Yashiro, but he doesn't hide it so maybe he's just like that normally lol.

This was a lot of fun. Watched randomly, but will keep watching. I like the main characters .

This was a pleasant surprise! I really like all the characters and their dynamic, the setting is interesting, they aren't afraid to have the protagonist kill some guys. Looking forward to seeing where it'll go :)

Not too excited by this, not that much distinctive about the characters. It is just a first episode but they didn't do much with the sci fi element.

Pretty fun first ep, I like the dynamics between our two leads. It's a fun vibe.

I liked what little glimpses of fight choreo I saw this episode. Seems like it'll be something a little more elaborate than the usual with some semblance of real technique. Also appreciate the variety in weapon choices and the detail on them. They are pretty much exact copies of real examples, if you spend a little time around swordTube you've seen some of those. I'm also intrigued about the firearms. That was a Galil Ace on the wall there.

I fully understand that it's a legal translation, but in a world of demon lords isn't it fucking obvious to even AI let alone a human that it should be translated to the more appropriate legal translation of "hero"?

Hero Scum or scummy hero of Scum heroes or Heroes of scum of Scum of heroes would all be better titles. And the translation in episode are all annoying too...

I like the art style with cute chibli characters.

Aki’s design reminds me a little bit of Ramona from Scott Pilgrim.
Yeah, “old” grim nihilistic adventurer with idealistic young, uplifting school girl isn’t a new concept, but I’m not tired of it, so I’ll follow how it goes.

Till now it’s fun, hopefully next episode increases a little bit pace.

I like the blend of fantasy elements in a modern setting that this show is about. It sort of reminds me of a combination between Maou 2099 and Detectives These Days Are Crazy, which are both unique shows that I really enjoyed. This series definitely does not shy away from violence and killing, but because of its art style, they are presented in a much less graphical manner, which can either be a pro or a con depending on your preference. I am always down for creative superpowers in this era that is saturated with superpowers across various media, so I am hoping for some wacky abilities in this show.

I like the art style a lot but the absolute lack of OST while they were in the bar killed my vibe entirely. I don’t need a lot but I do need something to add intrigue
