Dark Gathering fans should check out "Kaya-chan Isn't Scary" this season.

Dark Gathering fans still have to wait a bit longer for S2, but I urge those waiting to give Kaya-chan isn't Scary a shot. It's being directed by Hiroshi Ikehata who directed Dark Gathering. (Also has done Witch Watch & Tonikaku Kawaii.) So he has a history of directing horror

It is being animated by East Fish Studio, which doesn't have the best track record. But I am hopeful it could be one of the studio's better projects. It starts tomorrow (or later today if it currently is Sunday for you.)

Yes the key art did just make me think of DG, clearly a very intentional thing, it’s on my watch list to see how it turns out before trying it out myself.

I shall patiently await for others impressions

I had wondered if it was inspired by Dark Gathering, considering the Dark Gathering manga came out in 2019 and Kaya-chan in 2022, and the obvious aesthetic and combination of genres similarities.

But I figured from what I read up on the information pertaining to this series that it would be most similar to something like either Dark Gathering or Mieruko-chan, or some mixture.

Thank you! I’m so excited for Dark Gathering season 2. Luckily I have Hell’s Paradise and JJK to watch until then.
